DENVER – (August 29, 2008) – When KBDI-Channel 12 airs the Republican National Convention next week, it will continue its valued approach of providing opportunities for a variety of opinions – both from its nightly program hosts and from viewers. Live Nightly RNC coverage. The station will air live coverage of the convention each night September 1-4 at 7 p.m. from the floor of the RNC in Minnesota. Monday. Aaron Harber from KBDI’s The Aaron Harber Show will provide analysis Monday following the RNC and take viewer phone calls from 9 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. Jon Caldara, host of Independent Thinking and president of the Independence Institute, and his four Independence Institute program guests will offer analysis Tuesday evening. Caldara’s guests include Linda Gorman, director of the Health care Policy Center; Jay Ambrose, contributing columnist; Jessica Corry, director of the Property Rights Project; and Ben DeGrow, policy analyst. Wednesday. Studio 12’s Tamara Banks will host Wednesday evening’s coverage with viewer phone calls taken from 9 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Colorado Inside Out’s Raj Chohan will host Thursday evening’s coverage and analysis of John McCain’s acceptance speech. Following the live coverage from St. Paul, Chohan will be joined by panelists Pierre Jimenez, host of Hispanos Americanos; David Kopel of the Independence Institute; Eric Sondermann, political analyst from SE2; and Katy Atkinson of Atkinson & Associates. “This is KBDI’s third 2008 national political convention – the Libertarian Convention in Denver in May and the Democratic Convention in August followed by this Republican Convention coverage,” Dominic Dezzutti, KBDI director of production, said. “We have provided more diverse viewpoints for our viewers than any other station in Colorado.” After the national conventions, KBDI will continue its unsurpassed election coverage with eight Colorado Decides ballot issue debates in collaboration with CBS4 Denver and the Rocky Mountain News in September and Congressional district debates in October.
