DENVER – (September 22, 2008) – KBDI-TV/12 has changed its schedule and will broadcast two “empty chair” debates of Amendments 47 and 49 tonight in the Colorado Decides debate series at 8 p.m. on KBDI-Channel 12. The Amendment 47 debate includes proponent Kelley Harp. The measure’s opposing coalition, which had previously accepted an invitation to the September 19 taping of the debate contacted KBDI the afternoon prior to the scheduled debate taping and declined to participate unless the debate included Amendments 47, 49 and 54 all in one 30-minute debate. Amendment 49 also was taped on September 19 with proponent Jon Caldara and will air at 8:30 p.m. The opponent declined participation in the debate – for the same reasons cited for non-participation in the Amendment 47 debate. Colorado Decides is a partnership of KBDI-TV, CBS4 and the Rocky Mountain News. After the debate airs on Channel 12, it will be available on all three partners’ websites: www.kbdi.org, www.rockymountainnews.com, and www.cbs4denver.com. ### Marcia Simmons Director of Marketing and Communications KBDI-TV, Channel 12 (PBS) World View – Community Voice 2900 Welton St. Denver, CO 80205 303-991-5020 (direct); 303-489-4012 (cell) |
