DENVER – (April 5, 2010) – When Irish Eyes are Smiling – An Irish Parade of Stars will premiere Thursday, Apr. 15 at 7 p.m. on Channel 12.1. The program is a nostalgic journey back to the 1950s and 1960s opening on the streets of Dublin with legendary crooner Bing Crosby offering a pair of Irish folk standards, Molly Malone and McNamara’s Band. Actor Robert Mitchum joins the Ames Brothers for "Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral." Other classic performances include songbird Judy Collins, The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem, Carmel Quinn of The Arthur Godfrey Show and a rendition of It’s a Great Day for the Irish featuring Rosemary Clooney, Maureen O’Hara, Pat Rooney and iconic TV host Ed Sullivan. The program, hosted by Patty Duke, concludes with a pair of more recent performances by Ireland’s Frank Patterson, who sings a stirring tale of Irish history and the beautiful evergreen Danny Boy.
