Author: M Simmons
Denver, CO – As a tribute to U.S. veterans, KBDI-TV Channel 12 will air a program examining the life and death of the last MIA Colorado National Guardsman in Vietnam. The tribute to Maj. Perry Jefferson will be featured as a special edition of “Studio 12” on Wednesday, May 28, at 8 p.m.
“Studio 12” traveled to Washington D.C. with the Colorado Air National Guard in April to lay to rest Maj. Jefferson with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery exactly 39 years after he went missing in action on April 3, 1969.
Steffan Tubbs, “Studio 12” host and News Radio 850 KOA morning show co-host, will chronicle the experience and its impact through interviews with members of the Colorado National Guard, Vietnam veterans and Perry Jefferson’s brother, Mike Jefferson.
Jefferson, 37, lived in Denver and was an intelligence officer in the Colorado Air National Guard’s 120th Fighter Squadron. His remains were turned over by a Vietnamese National in 2001, but not identified until last year, using a DNA sample from his brother.
The program also will be available for viewing after May 30 via the video-on-demand feature of the www.kbdi.org website.
