Steele Gallery, on the campus of the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design DENVER, Colorado—Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is proud to present IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU, an exhibition that features performative works by AMANDE IN. The exhibition will run in the Philip J. Steele Gallery from Thursday, May 16th through Thursday, July 4th, 2013. Please join us for the opening reception on May 16th from 6 – 9pm. The Exhibition: IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOUis the first US exhibition of French artist, AMANDE IN. This show centers on two performative works that involve the transition of materials and space in relation to viewer’s perception. In this exhibition the immaterial and material coalesce with the sensual and imagined and also where the real and unreal, the present and absent collide in exhibition form. The Artist: AMANDE IN (born 1981 in Les Lilas, France) currently based between Paris and Prague. She graduated from École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Since, she's been nominated for residencies such as Karlin Studiosin Prague and VIR : ViaFarini In Residence in Milan. In 2010 she was guest professor and artist in residence at the School of Art of the Australian National University which hold a solo exhibition of her works. Her work was featured in exhibitions at Palais de Tokyo, Paris ; Futura, Prague; Museo de la Ciudad, Quito ; Le Corbusier Museum, Poissy ; Tranzit, Bratislava ; galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Paris ; galerie Maeght, Paris ; Monitor, Roma ; Seventeen gallery, London, to name a few. Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is a private, fully accredited school, founded in 1963, offering BFAs in a variety of art and design disciplines. RMCAD’s galleries feature regular exhibits from students, faculty, alumni, and world-renowned visiting artists.
