Born in Beijing in 1980, Chen Man is a Chinese fashion photographer known for her strong aesthetic eye and use of computerized 3-D rendering techniques. Prior to her graduation in 2003, in graphic design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Chen Man produced several groundbreaking cover photographers for the newly created Shanghai based Vision Magazine, a progressive art and fashion magazine. Using techniques that had not yet been seen before in China, Chen Man’s photographs also feature women and examine the changing views on the female role in Chinese culture today. She is also a regular contributor to the Chinese publications of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire, and her work has also been presented in galleries and museums worldwide, including Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Today Art Museum in Beijing and Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai. A New Attitude will be Chen Man's first solo exhibition in the U.S. Curated by Julie Segraves, executive director of the Asian Art Coordinating Council in Denver, this solo exhibition of Chen Man’s photographs will include 32 works.
