Original message: The debate for banning college football changed my thinking as much as how effectively the arguments in favor radically changed the audience votes. It now makes sense to me to ban college football as well as basketball because the pro teams need to fund their own farm teams rather than having tax revenues pay for that. The point that the European model for sports clubs, privately funded can do what colleges now do for developing athletes who may go on to play professionally makes much more sense than our current model which confuses education with the enormously entertaining amateur/semiprofessional college teams. Too bad the average level of thinking about sports functions about the same as the average brain damaged college or pro player, which translates as "no way Jose!" to taking away college teams from the American public.
