Original message: Hello! We would greatly appreciate it if you would help us spread the word about Colorado Fashion Week 2013. Details of the events are pasted below. Thank you! Dana For Immediate Release The 3rd Annual Colorado Fashion Week to Showcase Designers from the Rocky Mountain Region Contact Name: Justice Kwesi Kwarteng E-mail: justice@thejtagroup.com Phone: 720-495-4892 September 19, 2013, Denver, CO - Presented by the JTA Group, the 3rd Annual Colorado Fashion Week (CFW) is the only state recognized and premier fashion trade event of the Rocky Mountain west region that is fully dedicated to building an economically sustainable and respected fashion industry for Colorado. Colorado Fashion Week is very excited to present two designers from the Rocky Mountain Region: Nicholas Anthony Clothing by Anthony Heimann from Casper, Wyoming and Indi-Apparel by Diana Lopez from Phoenix, Arizona. The presentation of these two designers directly “fulfills our vision of ‘positioning Denver, and Colorado, as the fashion capital of the west’ ”, according to CFW Founder and Executive Creative Director, Justice Kwesi Kwarteng. Justice will also be launching the career of Denver emerging designer Robbi Sayuri, of Robbi Sayuri Collections, during CFW 2013. A recent graduate of the fashion program at the Art Institute of Colorado, Robbi was discovered by Justice, at a local fundraiser fashion show event last summer. Justice and CFW worked directly with the young designer to come up with the professional brand name for her label, to better focus and edit her collection and prepare her for her professional runway debut for her label at CFW 2013. To strategically leverage the State proclamation granted to the organization last year by Governor Hickenlooper that declared October 1-7, 2012 as Colorado Fashion Week, CFW will be hosting both private and public events from Tuesday, October 1 through Sunday, October 6 in Denver. This year's event officially begins on Tuesday, October 1st with a formal production rehearsal and model fittings from 3pm-8pm at the historic Oxford Hotel, in downtown Denver. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 5-9pm, The Oxford Hotel, 1600 17th Street, Denver | A Media Day and CFW Appreciation get-together for models, designers, participating CFW make-up artists and hairstylists is scheduled to take place at the Cruise Room of The Oxford Hotel on Wednesday, October 2, from 5pm-9pm. Members of the media, with pre-approved media passes, are invited to this event for an opportunity to directly meet and schedule in-person interviews with designers, models, sponsors and the CFW team. Thursday, October 3, 2013, 9:30pm-2am, Mile High Spirits Tasting Lounge, 2920 Larimer St., Denver | The Official CFW 2013 Opening Ceremony Fashion Party featuring Jonathan AeonChild, a world renowned resident VJ at Beta Nightclub (Denver) and guest performers will take place from 9:30pm-2:00am at Mile High Spirits Tasting Lounge, 2920 Larimer Street, Denver. Attendees are highly encouraged to RSVP on the Colorado Fashion Week events page on Facebook or by email at info@coloradofashionweek.co. As a sign of respect and support to Denver designer Gino Velardi, who is holding a Fundraiser Fashion Show (The Gino Velardi Fashion Show) on the evening of October 3rd, to raise funds to offset his medical bills due to colon cancer, Colorado Fashion Week has decided cancel all runway presentation on this date. CFW strongly encourages the public to purchase tickets to attend and support this incredible local Denver talent. Friday, October 4, 2013, 4pm-2am, Walker Fine Art Gallery, 300 W 11th Ave., Denver | The "CFW 2013 Business Of Fashion" Town Hall Meeting + Panel Discussion, moderated by Justice Kwesi Kwarteng, Creator and Executive Creative Director of Colorado Fashion Week, kicks off at Walker Fine Art Gallery from 4-6p.m., followed by a Q & A session with the audience from 6 to 7p.m. The Town Hall meeting is aimed at determining how Colorado and the city of Denver, can realistically capture a decent market share of the $250 billion global fashion business. The panel will also address the factors that impede the building of an economically sustainable and a respected fashion industry in, and for, Colorado. Confirmed panelists include local and national fashion industry professionals including fabric store owners, professional make-up artists, hair stylists, professional models and business development experts. CFW is particularly interested in having representatives from other local fashion industry organizations like FAD (the Fashion Association of Denver), the Denver office of economic development, among others, participate. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and greet the panelists from 7 to 8 p.m. Please RSVP for the panel discussion on the Colorado Fashion Week events page on Facebook or by email at info@coloradofashionweek.co. The 3rd Annual “CFW Masters of Hair + Make-Up Artistry Fashion Runway Show” will be held at Walker Fine Art Gallery (300 W 11th Ave., Denver, the same venue for the Town Hall meeting) from 8 to 9 p.m. The theme for this year’s CFW Masters of Hair + Make-Up Artistry show is: "Fashion Is Art/Life Is Art: Lady Gaga Meets Grace Jones.” Tickets to the hair and make-up show, which is a fundraiser to support the production efforts of Colorado Fashion Week 2013, may be purchased at http://coloradofashionweekday2-efbevent.eventbrite.com/. Participating salons and hair design teams include Envogue Salon, Swagger Salon, The Gaila Ruppel Design Team and more. The Hair show is sponsored by UNITE Professional Salon System and Walker Fine Art Gallery. The evening concludes with a Fashion Dance Party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. featuring VJ Jonathan AeonChild and guest performers. Saturday, October 5, 2013, 6pm-10pm, The Oxford Hotel, 1600 17th Street, Denver | Is the main day of professional runway presentations for CFW 2013. Doors open to VIP at 6:00p.m. The general public and the media will begin to arrive at 6:30p.m. Professional Runway Presentations for the evening will formally begin at 7:00p.m. with Robbi Sayuri Collections (Denver, CO), Kimono Dragons by Francis Roces (Denver, CO), Indi-Apparel (Phoenix, AZ), Apricot Lane Boutique Denver, Regal Rowe by Sinath Jerome (Highlands Ranch, CO), and Nicholas Anthony Clothing (Casper, WY). There will be two special runway presentations for the evening. First, the Mai Couture Make-up Innovation Runway presentation by Justice Kwesi Kwarteng will take place in-between designer runway presentations during the evening. The second special runway presentation is a Tribute show in honor of Elfriede Gamow (owner of Elfriede’s Fine Fabrics in Boulder)—a fine fabrics retailer and a three-decade Colorado fashion business legend. (Elfriede was affected by the recent floods in Boulder County and so therefore is still considering her participation in CFW 2013). The evening will be emceed and hosted by the Lauren Whitney, weather anchor from CBS 4 Denver. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Envogue Salon, 300 W 11th Avenue, Denver: This event will feature a trunk show by MAI Couture and opportunities to meet MAI Couture CEO and Founder Mai Tran and Robbi Sayuri Collections Designer Robbi Sayuri, Indi Apparel Designer Diana Lopez, Regal Rowe designer Sinath Jerome, Nicholas Anthony Clothing Designer Nicholas Anthony and more. Colorado Fashion Week 2013 is sponsored by The Oxford Hotel, MAI Couture, Mile High Spirits LLC, McCormick’s at The Oxford, Healing Intuition Massage Clinic, Apricot Lane Boutique Denver, JTA Fashion Image + Style, RoofStar Colorado, COLLAGE Digital Magazine, UNITE Professional Salon System, and Walker Fine Art Gallery. FOR A COMPLETE RUNDOWN OF EVENTS OR TO RSVP, PLEASE FIND COLORADO FASHION WEEK ON FACEBOOK OR EMAIL INFO@COLORADOFASHIONWEEK.CO. ABOUT COLORADO FASHION WEEK Founded in 2011, Colorado Fashion Week was inspired by Fern Mallis, Former Executive Director of the CFDA, who founded New York Fashion Week in 1993 to help brand New York as a fashion destination. CFW aims to build an economically sustainable and a respected fashion industry in Colorado. Justice Kwesi Kwarteng created CFW with a specific purpose. He states, “Denver is a leading economic and cultural arts entertainment capital of the Rocky Mountain West region but, as a city, it has no significant position within the highly lucrative $250 billion global fashion business. CFW exists to strategically change, and reposition, the state of Colorado and the beautiful city of Denver as the emerging fashion business capital of the west.” For more information, please visit www.coloradofashionweek.ning.com.
