Original message: Nice one sided program promoting gay marriage. Here is a contrary view. Civil Rights act “outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion or national origin," not sexual orientation. Homosexuality LGBT deviant sexual behavior and lifestyle is not a protected civil right or Constitutional right and should not provide special rights for employment, or anything else, much less marriage. In fact, homosexuality and sodomy were illegal in the USA until the 1970’s sexual revolution. http://downloads.frc.org/EF/EF07K01.pdf The Fist Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." LGBT lifestyle is a “religion.” It is a group that shares a belief complete with rituals. Government cannot create a law that funds or favors a Gay “religion” by granting tax entitlement privileges granted via marriage or civil union. Heterosexual Marriage is a tax entitlement that is based on the natural law of procreation of the species, human history and 300-years or legal precedence wherein it is defined as one man and one woman only. Not everyone qualifies for every Government entitlement, just look at the tax code, ADA, SDI, SS, Medicare, Medicaid and AFDC. Is it discrimination that we do not all qualify for every entitlement? Gays do not qualify for the “marriage and family” tax incentive entitlement by their own choice. Special rights based on any deviant sexual preference is unequal, immoral and illegal. LGBT already have the same “equal rights” as everyone else, they can marry heterosexually but they choose an alternative lifestyle instead. Even so, they can still enter into "civil unions" and create "partnerships" with the same legal rights a marriage less the finical tax incentives. Equality requires that everyone reaps the consequence of their choices, including the choice not to marry or the choice of a deviant sexual lifestyle instead of marriage. A clear majority of studies show that LGBT families are not in the best interest of society or children and that traditional families are. As such, the Government has a right to encourage heterosexual marriage and families. Not everyone is entitled to everything equally. http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=IS04C02 Colorado voted by 60% majority for a constitutional amendment to define marriage in Colorado as one man and one woman. That is Colorado law. The liberal Democrat legislators attempted to overrule the voters clear intent. This is fundamentally anti-democratic and borders on Tyranny. The Republicans did the right thing by upholding Colorado law and the voters clear wish to define marriage as one man and one woman. The SCOTUS ruled that Mormons do not have the legal right to polygamy because marriage os between one man and one woman. The same restriction applies to Gays.
