You are right that we differ from the national broadcast feed for PBS programs.  The reason that we differ is that we are a beta station (25% PBS) as opposed to RMPBS (Channel 6) who is an full member station (100% PBS).  We therefore have a different set of rules regarding broadcast rights.  What that means is that our rights don’t begin until 8 days (at least) after the national feed.
 
So, since we are still airing the last 2 episodes of Upstairs Downstairs we will begin airing Downton Abbey Series 3 on January 21^st at 8pm.  So, the nice thing is that you can watch it again when we start the series!  Please check our listings on the website (www.cpt12.org) for upcoming air dates.

The good news is that you will now have two chances to watch Downton Abbey.
Rocky Mountain PBS (Channel 6) is a full member PBS station. They get first shot at airing programming from the national feed including Downton Abbey.
Colorado Public Television is the Beta station in the Denver market. We carry  25% of the PBS national feed. We  prefer to use a variety of other sources for our programming. Because of this arrangement, we  have a different set of rules regarding broadcast rights.  We are not allowed to  air Downton Abbey until at least 8 days after  the national feed .
We are currently  airing the last 2 episodes of Masterpiece’s Upstairs Downstairs. We will begin airing Downton Abbey Series 3 on January 21^st at 8pm.
