Amal thinks it is time she met Meir's parents. Meir, who is afraid of the meeting, hires substitute parents to play his very left-wing parents, who have no problem at all with the fact that their son is in a relationship with an Arab woman. Amjad invites Bushra out to a fancy restaurant, where all of Jerusalem's elite go and ends up in a mess with his neighbor, the dishwasher at the restaurant.

series description

Amjad is an Arab journalist who writes for an Israeli newspaper and works very hard to fit in with Jerusalem's elite. However, his being an Arab and his desire to be part of Israeli society are in constant conflict. Bushra, his wife, is the voice of reason that tries to bring Amjad back in synch with reality She is an opinionated, smart woman, and has none of the identity issues her husband does. Amjad's father, Abu Amjad, who worked at the Ministry of Education before he retired, is mainly a finagler who tries to turn any event into a profit-making opportunity. Amjad's friend and partner at the paper is Meir, a charming, charismatic bachelor in search of a serious relationship. He takes on the job of being Amjad's guide to Israeli society. Meir falls in love with Amal, Bushra's classmate.
