Set in the verdant Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts, the series follows five professional musicians of the Boston Symphony Orchestra over the course of their summer season at Tanglewood: cellist Owen Young, bassoonist Suzanne Nelsen, violist Cathy Basrak, trumpeter Mike Martin and timpanist Tim Genis, as well as assistant conductor Ken-David... [see more] Masur. Throughout the six episodes, the musicians share their approaches to rehearsal, teaching and coaching at the Tanglewood Music Center, as well as how they manage their careers and family lives. Through one-on-one interviews, social interactions, and extended performance sequences, NEW TANGLEWOOD TALES offers a glimpse into the world of classically trained musicians for a summer sojourn filled with music at Tanglewood.
