Congress is now considering complete elimination of funding for public broadcasting. If approved, this loss of funding would seriously impact our service to you.
Federal support provides an important share of Colorado Public Television’s (CPT12) funding. It helps us deliver trusted programs that expand children’s minds, documentaries that open new worlds; balanced news programs that help you understand the bigger picture, and front row seats to the best performing arts in the country.
Please call your congressperson TODAY!
Do you realize that only tiny amount of your federal taxes, $1.35 a year, is dedicated to supporting the public television and public radio stations across the state of Colorado? And year after year, research shows that viewers see public broadcasting as an incredibly valuable resource and one of the best investments of federal dollars. That tiny investment is multiplied many times over by support from local members, foundations and corporations.
Locally, it helps CPT12 provide trusted news, election coverage and public affairs programs such as “Studio 12,” “Head On,” “Devil’s Advocate with Jon Caldera,” “Colorado Decides” and “Colorado Inside Out” and extensive arts coverage in programs like “Sandzen: Ecstacy of Color,” “InFocus with Eden Lane,” and the upcoming, “Neal Cassady: The Denver Years.”
Whatever your position, I hope you’ll call your members of Congress and make your voice heard. Additional background and updates on this issue are at 170MillionAmericans.org.

While a phone call is most effective, you may also contact your members of Congress via their website, which is also shown below. Congress will take action on this issue in the next few days.
