what Frannie does at PBS12
Frannie Matthews joined PBS12 as the Interim President and General Manager in April of 2024. Frannie will lead the organization until the Board of Directors names a permanent leader later this year.
about Frannie
Frannie Matthews is the former CEO of the Colorado Technology Association (CTA).
Before joining CTA, Frannie spent 18 years with IBM and served as the IBM Senior Location Executive for Denver. She has decades of sales leadership experience in the information technology industry.
Frannie served as Vice-Chair of TECNA (Tech Councils of North America). She is also on the ActivateWork Board of Directors, serving on the Operations and Finance Committee.
Previously, Frannie has served on the Board of Directors for the University of Colorado Wellness Center and the Smart Cities Alliance.
She is passionate about helping future leaders and is particularly interested in STEM education.
Frannie taught high school-level Junior Achievement courses and worked with University of Colorado students through the Leeds School of Business mentoring programs. She has also been a mentor at the IBM-sponsored PTECH program at Skyline High School. Additionally, Frannie is on the Computing Advisory Board for the College of Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.
In 2018, Governor John Hickenlooper appointed Frannie to the Colorado Workforce Development Council.
Frannie’s professional achievements have been widely recognized. In 2020, she was named one of the 25 most powerful women in business by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce. The Denver Business Journal also honored her with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Women in Business. Her community work was acknowledged by Mayor Mike Johnston, who proclaimed December 31, 2023, as “Frannie Matthews Day”.
Frannie holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Florida and an MS in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University.
