Curated by Chad Kautzer and Robin Gallite, Not Exactly speaks to the distinction between lack of shelter and the denial of social recognition that leads to an experience of homelessness.
Members Reception: June 1, 2013 6-7pm with curatorial talk followed by the Public Reception: 7-10pm, with performance vignettes by the LIDA Project & SOURCE Theater Company.
Not Exactly, RedLine's signature exhibition, will explore the distinction that the condition of being without a home is not exactly the same as the social implications of being identified as homeless. Through public performances, public artwork, storytelling, and more, this exhibition will be a collaboration of the community to create a dialogue about what it means to be homeless. Join us in asking critical questions, transforming our perceptions, and trying to understand the true reality of not having a place to call home.
