What a tremendous program I watched on KAET at 4 a.m. We decided to go spend a month in Seattle by next year to see all the changes. We took 2 of our grandchildren up in the Needle in 1978 and have photos which we cherish they were 3 & 4. Now 38 & 39. Now we want to take some of our great grandchildren. It was definitely a trip down memory lane. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I watch 3 programs on my rabbit ears. This Old House, Ask This Old House and Hometime. Today we were suppose to be back to "regular" programming but was pre-empted with technical difficulties. These three programs are only offered on your station on sundays beginning at noon and repeated on Mondays beginning at midnight. I noticed that you didn't have technical difficulties during one of your many pledge drives. You still have a long way to go to ever get me to contribute to programing I don't watch (pledge drive programs) or to regular programming I can't watch because of technical difficulties. Once upon a time, a person could wath This Old House from the beginning of a project to the end without pledge drive interruptions. Those times have passed.

CPT 12 abandoned any pretense of journalistic integrity by hosting Richard Gage and his asinine dog-and-pony show, which employs junk science, paranoid stupidity, staggering incompetence, and outright lies to slander and libel countless people, but took it a step further on April 24. Kudos to "All the Best" Joan for posting the link to the virulently anti-Semitic 911 Missing Links web site, an online cesspool where your viewers and readers can watch a 2 hour and 43+ minute video preaching that the al Qaeda suicide attacks of 9/11 were "really" committed by Israeli and American Jews. The synopsis starts with the enlightening declaration that "The Jew Doesn't Fight His Own Battles," and the narrative oozes steadily downhill from there - accusing Jews of controlling the US government and mass media, adding imaginary perpetrators and motive to Gage's pseudoscientific 9/11 gibberish, and giving everyone with a Jewish surname the first name of "Jew" or "Jewess." There are better web sites for this squalid and contemptible business, so perhaps "All the Best" Joan should consider furnishing Viewer Buzz readers with links to Jew Watch News and some of the other more established ones. Since it's "courageous" (and apparently great for ratings and donations) to present these sadly misguided crackpots, CPT 12 might also consider exploiting more recent atrocities in its quest for a scoop. Both the Newtown massacre and the Boston Marathon bombings have also been blamed on da Joos, and I'm sure the authors of Internet articles on these shocking revelations - who also peddle 9/11 "truth movement" foolishness - would be delighted to become public television celebrities too, and could even enlist some of their equally clueless sycophants to man the phones for you and offer patronizing and specious insights into why we don't drink their Kool-Aid. The rational among us are thankful to the other ~353 PBS affiliates who've exercised better judgment and haven't abdicated their responsibility to present worthwhile and honest programming.

There was a blog by Dominic Dezutti that contained some grossly inaccurate, irresponsible, libelous assertions. (below). 1. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that President Obama had any thing to do with this IRS issue, yet Dezzutti implies it is established fact that Obama was using the IRS to target rightist groups. Obama was unwise to believe first reports that the IRS was targeting Tea Party groups more than left-leaning groups applying for tax exempt status. 2. It is just now coming out that the IRS treated left-leaning Democratic groups seeking tax exempt status exactly the same as they treated Tea Party groups. There is ample evidence that these groups were trying to wrongly get tax exempt status for organizations that are political in nature and not acting as "social welfare" groups at all. That is why, left or right, they were targeted. This is the kind of irresponsible 'journalism' Americans expect from Fox News, not PBS. Partisans of the right are trying to make this a scandal, and there is no evidence that it is when all of the facts are in.. This is the kind of situation where Americans depend on PBS' thoughtful, fair analysis. If Mr. Dezzutti does retract this serious mistake and apologize to readers and viewers, is it appropriate to continue your association with him? As the investigation continues surrounding how the Internal Revenue Service targeted Tea Party and other Patriot groups for greater scrutiny on non-profit applications, the news will get worse for the President, but it will be manna from heaven for the Tea Party. When investigators finally discover exactly who ordered the different treatment of the Tea Party group applications way back in 2011, it’ll be too late to put the genie back in the bottle. No matter if it is a high ranking official or a relatively middle manager bent on political advantage, this scandal proves the very government interference that fuels Tea Party popularity. This time, it’s not paranoia or political hyperbole. This time, they were in fact, singled out for greater scrutiny because of the kind of organization they are. It’s what they have built their organizations upon since the beginning, except now they are the actual focus of the government. Because President Obama is not the first president to have an administration to see the IRS target a political opponent, we won’t see high ranking officials pay a significant career price. This is not a Watergate moment. Ironically, it was Richard Nixon that actually wrote the script on how to use the IRS as a political weapon. This will be a black eye and certainly won’t help any bi-partisan negotiations on other issues, but overall, this should not be a major game changer for President Obama. On the other hand, this will prove to be a major game changer for the Tea Party and associated groups. In their heyday of 2010, the Tea Party saw its greatest influence, changing the conversation about the Affordable Health Care Act and seeing far more conservative candidates win Republican primaries. Some of those conservative Republicans won general elections and brought the Tea Party brand of conservatism to both local and federal government. Others were won primaries and were doomed in general election races, actually helping Democrats win some competitive seats, like the one Senator Michael Bennet won. But the 2012 election was not as kind to the Tea Party. The Occupy Movement became the protest movement du jour and the ultra conservative swing that the Tea Party influence meant to the GOP was seen by many as a hindrance to progress and not as momentum. With moderate Mitt Romney rising to claim the Republican Presidential nomination, the Tea Party began to see its influence diminish in 2012. While not completely irrelevant, the Tea Party was enjoying its fourteenth minute of fame. And then, like a sign from the political gods that their time on the political stage was not through, the realization of some of their fears came true. The government was indeed isolating them out for unfair treatment. There is no need for paranoia at this point. Tea Party groups can finally revel in the fact that they are influential enough to actually deserve unfair treatment from the federal government. What may initially sound like an injustice, in reality, is the ultimate political compliment. To be deemed important enough to be attacked is to truly be relevant. Enemies do not attack those that do not matter. Just when the movement needed a serious shot in the arm, the IRS delivered news far more useful than non-profit status. What the Tea Party now does with this new momentum is the question. Will this be a short lived jolt, or a life-saving charge to the system? That remains to be seen. I was very excited to add the PBS channel in Roku. I love the availability of programs but noted that shows like Central Park Five and Dust Bowl offer only video clips and not full episodes and was wondering if they would every be offered as full episodes. I'm assuming that this may be a marketing effort to drive purchases of the DVD, etc., and I understand that but still was wondering if they would be available in future. Also would love to see more of the cooking shows offered online/full episodes. Thanks!

I am a long time supporter of CPT but after watching some of Seeds of Death, and your promotion of the video, last night, I am seriously reconsidering this support. The liberal bias of Public Broadcasting has always been a matter of concern but this "documentary" went beyond the pale. I understand there are concerns about GMO seeds but the host of unsupported accusations was simply unbelievable. It was particularly striking that in this morning's news we heard that the Supreme Court upheld Monsanto's patent rights 9-0. Please let me know if you plan to air a rebuttal to Seeds of Death. I am shocked that Denver's Colorado Public Television would air a program that is so full of untruths. I have been teaching a course on Genetically Engineered Plants (and other organisms) at the University of Colorado for the past 10 years, and am therefore very familiar with the peer-reviewed literature (based on evidence). I am always curious to see what arguments those who oppose genetic engineering are using, and therefore decided to watch this program, thinking that I might share it with the students in my class. However, it is too full of falsehoods, and it would therefore not be appropriate for any class. I'm afraid I have to be very skeptical of Dr. Burzynski's claims... for two main reasons: His results haven't been duplicated by other researchers, AND there's a LOT OF MONEY being charged for his services. I've been following the scientific studies being done with Cannabis... the discovery of our own endogenous cannabinoid system which regulates and repairs many of our body's functions, especially our immune system. Search YouTube for "Cannabis Cures Cancer" to learn more about it... and watch "Run From The Cure" to see someone who's cured hundreds of people of their cancer and other diseases... and doesn't charge a penny for it. Also, thousands of people have been duplicating these results, growing their own "medicine", and extracting the chemical compounds from the plant with a method that's demonstrated in the documentary. Any chance you might screen "Run From The Cure" on Channel 12 in the near future? (I'll gladly send you a DVD)

I am appalled at the level with which Monsanto and other Big Agra/Big Chem have been allowed to infiltrate our food system. This is a sign of collapse of freedom on many levels. The plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, humanity, Earth. It's insidious and it's truly obscene. GMO's should be outlawed completely. In response to "Seeds of Death, Name Withheld Comment" regarding the persistence of Roundup in the environment and supposedly killing plants after ingestion by cows and composting and the link to Mother Earth News substantiating the claim... Quote: "One simple story of "Roundup" supposedly breaking down quickly after the intent is finished, has lead to Mother Earth News posting stories of gardens, lawns, & produce killed by "Roundup" that did not break down." Please read the article on Mother Earth News. The article specifically names the chemical families of aminopyralids and clopyralids that were introduced in 2005 and 2000, respectively by Dow Chemical Company. This is fundamentally different chemistry than that used in Roundup (glyphosate); which is an amino acid based herbicide. As an amino acid Roundup is inherently biodegradable (food) and it acts solely by interrupting the photosynthesis (I) pathway in plants causing them to starve to death. There have been many herbicides and pesticides that show biopersistence and bioaccumulation leading to detrimental effects on the environment and the food chain (DDT being a leading example). The safety of a product should always be weighed against its value to the world (e.g. DDT helped eradicate Malaria). Misinforming the public about a safe and effective product is irresponsible; please check the "facts" you so loosely use to defend your arguments. Roundup and GMO crops that are designed to resist Roundup have led to substantial increases in crop yield to feed a hungry world. Tom Waldman, Ph.D.

I told my sister that we the people do have the power to change what is on our shelves in the grocery stores. If more people would stop buying foods that have high fructose corn syrup, GMOs, and non-organic produce, then the companies would be forced to change what they make. The main problem is that people like me who eat healthy are a minority. I am not rich, I am living in poverty, but I still choose organic even if it costs more. But many people out there are living paycheck to paycheck, or are living on foodstamps or whatever, and they feel they cannot afford to pay more for the food they feed to their families. So they buy the cheapest foods, which are going to be the processed, unhealthy junk. So because of those poor people, the message is given to the companies to continue selling junk, and the price of the organics amd healthy choices continue to be higher than the mass produced junk. However, if everyone were to do as I do for one year, I believe the price of the organics would go down, and the GMOs and junk would fade out. But the big companies like Mansanto continue to use their power to control the media and everything else. In California they had the opportunity to make the companies tell the truth on the labels of their products, but during the 2012 election, the opposition was able to pump millions of dollars into negative advertising to squash this labeling law. The people in Californica voted to make porn actors use condoms, but they could not vote for something important like truthful labels on products. What a shame. The voices of the minorities are muffled by the subterfuges of these multi- billion dollar companies. I fear that it is already too late because the same people who buy these junk foods, are the same ones who lost their pentions, savings and homes to the top 2 percent who control the system.

I would like to commend you for the outstanding and vital broadcast of Seeds of Death. Food production, nutrition and pharmaceutical manipulation - the suppression of information and the industry's power and corruption have been an interest for a long time. How does one get involved in spreading the knowledge and becoming an activist? Furthermore -- for our own protection and health, how does one find food that is clean and has not been genetically modified or over-treated with pesticides, harmful ferilizers and chemicals? In this program A very important fact is brought up. How Monsanto on one side says their GMO food is no different than any other food, then on the contrary say to the Patent Office that Yes their GMO seeds are so unique and different they need to be protected Patents. Why do even Rats leave the GMO corn behind when there is organic corn available? We need GMO food Labeled in this country like Nothing else.

Yellow journalism returns to the front page. CPT claimed to have leading scientists in the GMO debate and yet the affiliations of nearly every "scientist" was to a public interest organization of their own founding. I expect quality journalism and not a series of self proclaimed experts with an axe to grind describing their statiscally unsupported opinions regarding a scientific debate. Not a single perspective from a practicing scientist in a leading university nor any commentary on the use of genetic manipulation to create cancer fighting drugs or vaccines. I am extremely disappointed in the CPT management for using public television to promote a very biased perspective on a critical topic. I am deeply and truly frustrated by the "Seeds of Death" program. I am a concerned citizen who wants to understand the issues surrounding GMOs and was hoping that this program would be informative. Instead I was appalled by how one sided it was -- truly a liberal counterpoint to a Fox news diatribe (and of about the same analytical quality and intellectual honesty) -- and totally unworthy of public television. I am usually troubled by the politically correct requirement to present both side of a story, even when the opposing side has little scientific legitimacy, such as with climate change. In this case, however, even when there is lots of reason to be concerned about regulatory capture by the industry and the amount of money spent in promoting GMO crops, there has to be another side to the story. It was totally and unjustifiably missing in this case. Where were the knowledgeable and objective commentators? To my mind, the program was an insult to someone who is seriously trying to understand what is at stake, both the dangers and potential benefits. This program only succeeded in making me angry and concerned that the level of discourse is being lowered by a completely biased presentation from one of the few sources that should be providing objective information on a highly charged issue.

Euromaxx is a great program. The segments on VISUAL artists is always informative. It seems in the USA, there is a lack of reports on working class visual artists. Denver has a solid community of NON-starving artists who are making their way. It would be nice to know about the working artists in the discipline.

The debate for banning college football changed my thinking as much as how effectively the arguments in favor radically changed the audience votes. It now makes sense to me to ban college football as well as basketball because the pro teams need to fund their own farm teams rather than having tax revenues pay for that. The point that the European model for sports clubs, privately funded can do what colleges now do for developing athletes who may go on to play professionally makes much more sense than our current model which confuses education with the enormously entertaining amateur/semiprofessional college teams. Too bad the average level of thinking about sports functions about the same as the average brain damaged college or pro player, which translates as "no way Jose!" to taking away college teams from the American public.

It would be a good thing to have a series on some of the visual artists that live an d work in the city and state. The money could come from the art suppliers or sports organizations who by the way ain't never broke. Had to say it.

Wednesday went from my favorite to one of the WORST days of the week. Garden smart is Good/ Very Good. Mat & Sheri should have been canceled when they were in the 1990's. They are Horrible!! They are only telling you how to correct their own mistakes and "updating" to the late 90's. I cannot watch & have to switch channels. Rick is incredibly GREAT... NEVER loose his show!!!!!!!!! It is the best daytime show on TV!!!!!!!!!! What happened to Patty ... next to Rick She is the next best show you had. Get rid of Julie Taboullie and bring back Patty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I listened to your show about social security. I keep writing emails and asking why we don't remove the cap on social security deductions. Drug Cartels to Mexican Police: 'Join Us or Die' Published May 18, 2008 Associated Press Drug cartels are sending a brutal message to police and soldiers in cities across Mexico: Join us or die. The threat appears in recruiting banners hung across roadsides and in publicly posted death lists. Cops get warnings over their two-way radios. At least four high-ranking police officials were gunned down this month, including Mexico's acting federal police chief. Mexico has battled for years to clean up its security forces and win them the public's respect. But Mexicans generally assume police and even soldiers are corrupt until proven otherwise, and the honest ones lack resources, training and the assurance that their colleagues are watching their backs. Here, the taboo on cop-killing familiar to Americans seems hardly to apply. Police who take on the cartels feel isolated and vulnerable when they become targets, as did 22 commanders in the border city of Ciudad Juarez when drug traffickers named them on a handwritten death list left at a monument to fallen police this year. Last week, U.S. officials revealed that three Mexican police commanders have crossed into the United States to request asylum, saying they are unprotected and fear for their lives. "It's almost like a military fight," said Jayson Ahern, the deputy commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. "I don't think that generally the American public has any sense of the level of violence that occurs on the border." On May 8, Edgar Millan Gomez, who had taken over as acting federal police chief, just 10 weeks previously, was shot by a lone gunman outside his Mexico City apartment. Police blamed the Sinaloa cartel and said a police officer was among the suspects arrested. The U.S. Embassy in the capital flew its flag at half-staff. "Mexico has lost another hero," Ambassador Tony Garza said in a statement. "Mexico has lost too many heroes in the fight against criminals and drug cartels." Mexican government institutions didn't lower their flags, but held elaborate funerals. In Ciudad Juarez, police have been given assault rifles -- they used to just carry pistols -- but also are instructed not to patrol streets alone. More than 100 of the city's 1,700-member force have resigned or retired since January. Soldiers are also in the cartels' sights. The Zetas, an infamous group of soldiers who became drug hit men, strung banners above highways with slogans such as "The Zetas want you -- we offer good salaries to soldiers," and taunts about low army pay. The conflict has become a battle for loyalty on several levels. "Juarez Needs You! Join up and become part of the city police," say enormous city billboards. The jobs offer salaries about three times higher than those offered by the foreign-owned "maquiladora" factories that are the city's biggest industrial employer. But police and soldiers keep deserting to the cartels, giving traffickers inside knowledge about tactics and surveillance. And because of their history of corruption and abuse, police and soldiers run into suspicion as they patrol the border slums where traffickers throw children's parties, hand out cell phones and employ taxi drivers and youths as lookouts. A Mexican army captain leading about a dozen soldiers raiding a Ciudad Juarez slum gazed over a maze of alleys, shacks and, in the distance, El Paso, Texas, gleaming in the sun. He said the drug lords' spies are everywhere, tipping off their bosses to approaching troops. Many residents complain of heavy-handed army tactics. "These guys don't care about anything," Lalo Lucero, 44, a former migrant worker in New Mexico, said as he watched soldiers detain a neighborhood youth. "They came into my house without a warrant, searched through everything and told me to sit on a couch and not say anything." The army's public relations office did not reply to requests for comment. But authorities have tried to improve the troops' image by blanketing Ciudad Juarez with pictures of a soldier manning a machine gun and the slogan "We Are Here to Help You." This is a significantly higher percentage than in 2002, when for the entire year, only 130,000 people were deported. Thank you so much for airing this program!!! I have been doing what I can to fight GMO's by supporting this movement through my Facebook and sharing with friends, also any petitions that I come across. I do feel that wholesome, non-genetically altered foods are the best for us and find more supporting information for this the more I read. I feel that this is like one of those small seeds that can grow into something large and great and make a better change for our world. Please continue to air programs like this. Maybe we can make a start in Colorado and other places one small group at a time to make a change.

In response to the person who asked about why Dish network no longer has CPT 12 available to its subscribers: I was watching Colorado Inside Out the other night, and one of the panelists was discussing the case involving Dish network and a paraplegic employee they had fired and won an appeal against, who used medical marijuana outside of work hours to treat muscle spasms. The moderator made a comment that maybe Dish's behavior in this regard should be taken into consideration when subscribing to satellite services;)~ It occurs to me that Dish could be retaliating by not broadcasting PBS. I personally will never use Dish network, and will advise anyone I know who subscribes to it on Dish's public position re: treatment of employees and medical marijuana use for qualified patients. If Dish has decided to censor PBS, I guess that would be consistent with its general reactionary position re: employees and medical marijuana. You decide if you want to support such a company.

Well dish is up to it again. They broadcast channel 12 then they don't. Right now they dropped it again. Is there a reason why? Does this constitute some kind of breach of contract so I can cancel my dish network subscription? I can't believe I'm payng dish network all this money and they don't even broadcast all of the local stations...

I must say I'm often disappointed, although sometimes pleasantly surprised at the programming choices on CPT12. I look at the schedules and see much repetition. I've seen days when the 90 minute Brit Floyd special is aired 3 times a day and you seem very fond of showing Seeds of Death and Burzynski (spelling?). How many times do you air Brit Floyd and Seeds of Death each month? And how much are you being paid for this? I can't help but think that the Brit Floyd show is nothing but a promo for their upcoming concert at Red Rocks. You did the same thing shortly before their appearance there late last summer. I'd appreciate some disclosure even if it's to say you're not being paid to promote their concerts. The only repetition I really care much for is Charlie Rose, because I really appreciate him, but very often I'll tune in to see who his guest(s) is (are) and even though the schedule I read says it's "new" it's the 3rd or 4th time I've seen it aired. Sometimes Rose is on 12.2 only to be followed by the same episode on 12.1 or even RMPBS. I've lived in other markets with more than one PBS station, but they usually seemed to work together and even though I didn't like everything they had to offer they didn't seem to beat the same things to death as you do. They didn't seem to be concert promoters (as you are with Brit Floyd) or pushing an agenda (as you do with Seeds of Death). They rarely repeated things and certainly never as often as you seem to do and when they did repeat things it was usually something like Frontline or Nova or the McNeil/Lehrer News Hour (yeah, I'm old enough to remember when it was called that). You don't even air the PBS News Hour as far as I'm aware. It seems like that's at least worthy of an early and a late showing. You're not all bad. I appreciate much of what you do, but you air a lot of stuff over and over again that seems worthless. I'd think with all the sub-channels and with the cooperation of RMPBS that it should be a lot better.

Joan asked, in a response to an e-mail in which acupuncture was mentioned, "Are you telling me 1 billion Chinese are wrong?" That first requires the tremendous assumption that basically every Chinese person on Earth agrees with the ideas espoused in acupuncture. Secondly, that adds no sound basis for accepting acupuncture as effective in the same way that most people believing in a flat Earth in the Dark Ages made that claim true. She then follows that comment with a serious faux pas demonstrating her own research skills, or lack thereof, with this comment: "Please click on the link to find the list of Medical Organizations that endorse Acupuncture." The link was to a single paragraph in an article in Wikipedia that did not even list any organizations supporting acupuncture. It was, in fact, a brief mention of a very few organizations in which statements were made to the effect that there are a couple of instances where acupuncture can provide some relief for very specific circumstances. The whole premise of acupuncture is based on the idea that there is a flow of energy in the body that gets out of alignment and needs to be realigned by sticking needles in your skin to correct it. This is sheer fantasy and it is thousands of years old, predating sound science and scientifically based medicine by millennia. None of the claims of energy flow in the body have ever been demonstrated yet most people skip right over that fact and jump to the practice of needle insertion. There are many forms of quackery like this that you should be pointing out with good programming on Public Television. Trying to defend yourselves with sloppy reasoning for promoting sloppy journalism only compounds the problem. By the way, the reason acupuncture helps relieve some pain is actually well understood. The needles injuring the skin cause the body to release natural painkillers called endorphins to help the body ease the pain from both injuries - the original source of pain and the newly inflicted injuries from the needles. I do support Public Television and have for many years for the great scientific programming and for the diversity of programming, and it is rare that I speak out against shows offered, but this is a major slip in professional, science based journalism that needs to be corrected.

It is NOT the purpose of any Public Television Station to be controversial. The purpose of Public Television is to be scientifically sound as THAT is the thing most often missing from profit driven television. It takes very little research to find that the Doctor's treatments were never properly tested in clinical trials, the results were never published for peer review, and other researchers were not able to duplicate any positive results in their own testing. This is the hallmark of the progress of medicine, it is a very open process as is necessary, and Burzynski failed to do this proper research and prove positive results.

Generally your programming is excellent though I tend to agree with other comments about Gary Null. He is the least credible of the doctors and other nutritional "experts" you air. In general, I would find his point of view as dangerous advice based on my own experience and knowledge. Good job!

We MUST think before we eat, which means we must think before we BUY. Seek out local meat, milk, eggs, fruit and veggies...this will save our health, our local economy and the land. Thank you for all your work on research and for sharing it with us. But, I have a few questions about the water filter. First, if the average family of 4 uses 300 gallons of water a day, yet your filter will only filter 1000 gallons, then what do we do after we have used up the 1000 gallons? I heard you say that the filter is cleanable, but does that mean it is completely reusable and like new once cleaned? So therefore the filter is endless and you could use it forever? If you use this for daily use, is it really able to keep up with my faimlies needs? It seems very very small to be able to filter the gallons of water my family would consume on a daily basis. I literally took some time to venture into your programming. "Seeds of Death" captivated my attention. As many like items do due to a propensity for concern for love of life. What we have and are creating in this world today is not from love of life but for love of ones own self interest. Overlooking billions of years of natural creativity, I believe it to be in God's creation. However that is not my focus. Right after the "Seeds of Death" program you aired the program "Ethos: A Time for Change", Ohhh! How we must grieve at TODAYS PROBLEMS. Two of the most pandemic situations in our very own country. No where is there point of contact to express ones true concerns. There is no American moral society of focus to attack such a pandemic problem. One must think today that we are all sheep and must submit to such injustices. Why I am writing, how does the public understand truth today if there is so much corruption. From my life's experience there is "only some who are capable of truth and some not" if the balance of some vs some not is out weighed by the some not we have a paradigm of catastrophes. We have engaged in a new form of war man vs life. God is no longer the father nor the creator. Man is above all, the "Golden OX" is alive today. You air such programs that invigor such moral response. May I ask, are you just stimulating the poor people to feel just and respond by contributing for the sake of your very own prosperity? Who are you representing the Fed's, corporate interest, or private self interest for the sake of wealth, greed, power, or self righteousness, or twisted propaganda. I would like to think not of either the previous and hope there is some sort of moral propounding concern. Ok then! Where am I going. All this stir of hope where do we go with it if one is to believe there is answer to Pandora Box. I can't believe the program I just watched. Presented as a scientific expose it is filled with commentary by dubious 'experts' as a support device for a conspiracy alarmist so he can advertise his 'water filter' using public channels. It's sad to see that CPT has sunk this low in vetting its programs - especially programs that they're trying to raise money with from a generally uninformed public. The truth is that GMOs (Genetically modified organisms) have been with us for hundreds of years. The first time a farmer selected one kind of plant type over another, the crop had been genetically modified. If you've ever eaten corn of any type, you've eaten GMOs - bar none. The truth is that if GMOs didn't exist, mankind could not support itself. The ranting of persons that would monitarily benefit by trying to create panic should not be presented as science. I saw very little in the show that was actually backed by evidence. The majority of the report consisted of personal opinions of like-minded extremists. The 'water filter' is also a sore spot with me. A water filter's worth is greatly affected by its capacity, how much water can it purify? What are the filters made of? Ceramic? What is the principle used to purify the water? These were never discussed in the free plug given to the huckster selling it. Mostly what I saw was panic driven sales akin to a snake oil salesman. There are much more reliable systems available for less. Why am I upset? I am a degreed biologist with graduate work in genetics and agronomy. I have worked professionally as an engineer in water purification and pharmaceuticals including dietary supplements and homeopathics. What I saw in this program and the Gary Nole segments were scientifically disingenuous and should be shunned by respectable outlets. I'm sorry that I became a member to CPT last December. It won't happen again. I am particularly saddened that CPT has allowed this type of program with its adjunct sales pitch on its programming. Should we start watching QVC for our science programs?

I don't understand, which other side do folks want to hear from; Monsanto's and the other big corporations? We've heard what they have to say; it's all lies and cover ups! Our food supply up until this last century was basically "organic" and subject to the ravages of nature, ie, bugs, disease, drought, etc. While at first the chemical companies may have had "our best interests" in mind, money has perverted that original goal of modifying plants to produce better (more resistant) fruits & vegetables. One simple story of "Roundup" supposedly breaking down quickly after the intent is finished, has lead to Mother Earth News posting stories of gardens, lawns, & produce killed by "Roundup" that did not break down. Livestock ate grasses at the edges of fields, their manure was composted and the "Roundup" was still active. People bought the composted manure spread it where desired and killed ALL THE PLANTS. Yet the public is willing to take the word of the chemical companies, which is VERY ONE SIDED!!!

My disappointment in Channel 12 was extreme when you had Gary Null on Friday, April 12 at 10:30 pm. He has no credability in my view and and can be labeled as quackery. How can I ever take cpt12 seriously when you have people like that on.

I am a member, I donate annually because I believe in Public Broadcasting but I rarely watch Channel 12 because few of your shows have close captioning and those that do often have poor captioning. Did my eyes deceive me? I thought I saw a relatively low price to buy this film on DVD. But when I got to the Web site, it was a difference price.

We watch many great PBS s hows and were very pleased and happy to donate to PBS for the continued great programming. The wonderful programming for shows such as Nature, Nova, and the many concert series shown can't be beat. However, we are very disappointed that the tickets we received for the Joe Bonamassa concert fter making a donation were not "excellent" seats as the PBS anchors represented. Their comments were misleading. We will still enjoy the show and continue to donate to PBS as we can, but will be a little more leary in the future of what is represented as "gifts" for donations.

I read in the Sunday Parade Magazine that PBS is starting a new miniseries starting April 10 about Australia. Will this station carry this series? I looked and could not find it. It sounds really interesting.

Well Known Wireless Corporation Discriminates and Fires Mentally Ill Employee Model Employee is fired due to issues surrounding mental health condition, despite following company policy and maintaining outstanding performance. November 9th, 2012 Littleton, CO-Courtney Maupin was fired from her job she had for almost two years at a large Wireless corporation due to tardiness. She had thirteen “tardies” in one year (a tardy is deemed for being late to work between five minutes to an hour); however, seven of them were in August of 2012 when she was put on a new medication for her Bi-polar Type II Disorder. In May of 2012, Courtney was committed to an inpatient program due to suicidal ideation. At this point the company allowed her to take short-term disability as she also finished an intensive outpatient program. At the beginning of August she reentered her job through still stabilizing from her disorder. She had gone through over five medication changes while in the eight week IOP program and in August was put on Lithium. One of the most significant side effects of this medication is drowsiness. Courtney made the company aware of this and offered doctor documentation to which one of the assistant mangers replied, “It doesn’t matter”. At the point that she was fired, the main manager was out of town. He was not made aware that anything was happening in the process to fire Courtney and seemed very upset afterwards. Courtney was a great performer in every area. She had been given raises, bonuses, never failed to reach her commission goal and even was appointed to a leadership position to train the other employees. She had no hourly attendance issues and was never “in the red” for sales, although almost everyone else in the store had been at one point. -More- Right before she went into the hospital, Courtney was also dealing with discrimination from work, among going to school full time and her mental illness. While in IOP she spent one week addressing the issues at work. The assistant manager mentioned above and her previous store manager sat her down to talk about use of her FMLA (Family Leave Medical Act). They told her that the other employees in the store were upset that she was taking time off and didn’t feel she was using it correctly. The assistant manager also told her: “We are disappointed in you”. While in IOP the company also decided to transfer her stores. Through her episodes of the illness this only hurt the healing process and it took five days, four hours a day, to work through this mentally. Everyone in her IOP program told her she should do something about the discrimination, but Courtney could not afford to lose her job. Immediately after being fired, Courtney presented her case to the EEOC and they immediately filed the charge. Six months later, the corporation has yet to respond. “When I call the EEOC they tell me there is a time frame for the corporation to respond, but she would not tell me what it is”. Courtney is still struggling to find a new job. While in the process she is also maintaining straight A’s in full-time school and starting a NAMI support group for all types of mental illness on the Auraria Campus, which will be the first outside mental health resource the campus has ever seen. She is an active member of Mile Hi Church and after all this she will be applying to law school in the Fall after an expected graduation in December, with her BA in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. She is also a published author of a book of short stories detailing growing up with her mentally ill mother entitled, “I Wish Roses Lasted Forever”. This corporation paid around 20,000 in medical coverage for which Courtney believes is the real reason of being fired. “People hear mental illness and they automatically imagine crazy people in strait jackets. There are many of us who continue lifelong treatment and still live a normal life. I am excelling in everything I do at this point. I am not my disorder, I have a disorder. I feel if the public were more educated on mental illness they would agree with me. Whether it is the blatant statements of discrimination or the continuous negative sentiments towards me in my time of weakness, it is not right and I want everyone to know that to prevent this from happening to others in similar situations. I want to send a message to large corporations that they are not above the law”. ##############################################################################

Thank you for airing this excellent show about WhitneyYoung. He was an interesting and influential leader during the civil rights movement who is often forgotten about especially since he was killed so young. Also, it is interesting for us here in Denver though many people don't know his widow and daughter vied in Denver!

While CPT obviously did not pass "Burzynski The Movie" by any oncologist, nor did CPT Executive Producer Shari Bernson pass her comments to the PBS Ombudsman by CPT's legal council. Ms. Bernson stated: "[T]he FDA tried to indict Dr. Burzynski five times and was successful the 5th time in indicting him for Interstate Commerce..." The FDA does not have the authority to "indict" anyone, and "Interstate Commerce" is an activity, not a crime for which anyone could be indicted. Ms Bernson went on to say: "The case went to court and Dr. Burzynski won. All charges have been dropped and there are no outstanding charges against him." Either he was acquitted of the charges or the charges were dropped. It can't be both. The major defense to PBS for airing this film appears to boil down to it being made by an independent filmmaker. But ask Merola about his cousin being treated (unsuccessfully) by Burzynski; this is something he doesn't talk about. Also, as noted in the Village Voice review, Merola made no effort to make this what is ethically expected of a documentary. Today is April 4,2013 I just viewed your show. And what I was hearing and please correct me if I am wrong. But did I not hear the panel making excuses why EBEL did what he did Mental Illnesses? Are you saying every KKK member has a mental problem this is why they go out and TERRORIZE people who are just living there lives? This very disturbing to hear a panel speak of such evil and with the same breath gives and excuse to why the person did what they did. Bottom line EBEL is and was a EVIL PERSON. Not only that the name of Nathan Dunlop keeps being drop; but what you fail to say is, that this child (Nathan) was BULLIED by his manager and his work mates. But you still consider him being a Monster. The justice was handled just as your opinions were thrown around. Did Nathan do the crime? Yes he did. What excuse have you given him? None . but another murder you GIVE an excuse for? Killing is wrong when one PLOTS to make it happen. In this case they BOTH are guilty. There's no good kill. Nor excuse. They both layed in wait to execute there plan. Stop making excuses for one and not the other.

I am not sure if the EPG falls under programming but I am limited by the available menu. Where is the EPG. It was downor off yesterday and still is this AM. Putting DTV Programming on it is worhtless. Come on, get things up and running. BTW, I know I can go to the website where you publish the schedule. I'm sure you understand that the process then costs me money in time, ink, & paper wwhen it should just take a simple button.

We choose NOT to pay ridiculously high prices for cable/satellite service as we travel a bit. We love your evening programming on 12.3. Over-the-air is impossible at our locations. While we can watch some 12.3 programs on MHZ Networks using their iPad app it's not on-demand and buying DVDs in not something we will ever do. Suggestion: Offer contributors access to a streaming site so they could view a few of their select programs on-demand quickly and easily. Just a thought

Just watched this week's program. How refreshing to have a program where Dave Kopel is not there turning his response to nearly every topic into a diatribe against President Obama. He's getting a little tiresome.

I missed the first two episodes of this program. Well, almost missed. I caught the tail end of the second one running Saturday, March 30. I'm wondering if you can repeat this series? Because I really enjoyed it.

I spend winters in Germany with my (German) wife and we watch Commissario Brunetti whenever we can. However, 1) there are no Engisch subtitles in the German presentations, and 2) after more than 20 years of trying, I STILL cannot learn German well enough to understand their television programs! But now, during the summer with the subtitles, I can understand the complete Brunetti stories, and it makes me most happy! 1024 thanks for carrying these episodes!

As of last week, the CCTV program on 12.3 at 1 pm has not been on. Instead it is Taiwan Outlook. You still have CCTV at 1:30pm but I sure do miss the one at 1 pm. When will it be on again? Taiwan Outlook is on at some other times but not CCTV which is a great program - the only daytime program I watch. Thanks!!

Either the vast majority of these comments are sponsored and initiated by persons related to the FDA, or the American public is more brainwashed than I ever thought possible. I imagine, that everyone calling Dr. Burzynski a "quack" - what an intellectual choice of a word - has a degree in medical science, and/or considers the cured cases and statistics a sheer miracle performed by God, and nothing to do with the formula developed by Dr. Burzynki's team.

I was hoping that one of our PBS stations would carry this excellent travel program. I don't think that Channel 6 does, and it seems you don't either. It is a program of Oregon Public Broadcasting. Perhaps you could consider it! Thanks!

You know this guy is a fraud right? The entire film is stolen footage from other documentaries which he was never given permission to use or license. He is being sued by Sony Pictures who owns half the footage. And you are promoting this sham? Maybe you should wait for the cease and desist letter.

I'd like to hear arguments from the other side and have gone to the websites which are clearly rallying many of your commenters, but the content there consists mainly of end zone dances over any death of a Burzynski patient and invective directed at Burzynski and the filmmaker. If Burzynski can help 15% of glioblastoma patients, isn't that better than the 0% standard treatment offers? Yeah, it's expensive. Welcome to American health care.

Interesting program but so one sided it is hard to take it seriously. Especially after I started looking at academic credentials of Jeffry Smith. Is there any chance you'll show something that examines both sides of this issue. What Ive read in Scientific American and about the possible future benefits of golden rice I wonder if there isn't another side that needs to be heard.

I note that you have featured "Dr" Gary Null (who is a conspiracist crank and absolutely not a doctor, whatever he may claim), and various Truther idiocies, so it's not really a surprise that you've apparently fallen hook line and sinker for the conspiracist twaddle promoted by the Burzynski shills. The simple fact is, the reason - the ONLY reason - Burzynski's treatment is not accepted by medical science and by insurers, is that there is no credible evidence it works. Credible evidence, in medicine, comes in the form of published clinical trials. Burzynski has reistered 61 trials since the mid 90s, of which he has, according to clinicaltrials.gov, completed exactly one - in 2005 - and that has not been published. There are claims that he tries to publish but this is "suppressed". That, of course, is nonsense. There are so many actors in medical publishing that it is inconceivable that there would be no credible publication which would be unprepared to publish compelling evidence. PLOS is the obvious candidate if the publications supposedly under control of the "cancer industry" won't take it. The Helsinki declaration sets out the obligations of parties conducting trials. One of these obligations is to publish the results. The Burzynski clinic has not done so, and seeks to obscure this with a smokescreen of conference abstracts and other low-grade output. A very thin smokescreen, given the length of time for which this has supposedly been under investigation. No conspiracy is necessary to explain why Burzynski is controversial, why he is under scrutiny from regulators, and why insurers won't pay for his overpriced treatment. All the explanation you might need is right there in the discussion of this treatment by FDA, NCI, ACS and other independent authorities. The most charitable interpretation is that Burzynski is an incompetent scientist so is unable to design or write up good quality tests of his ideas. A less charitable interpretation is that he is a charlatan. The mundane - and most likely - explanation is that he was simply wrong, and has believed his own PR. PR which, unfortunately, contains many "success stories" who turn out to be dead or untraceable. Please recategorise this film under "fantasy" though. As a "documentary" it would make Leni Riefenstahl blush, it is so self-evidently propaganda.

But what to do, an action plan, specific steps to take - these were all missing. It was such a powerful program , I believe most viewers would be moved to action. Who is organizing that action? Instead of using language such "monstrous abuse of public funding" “disgusting” “sick” “obscenity”, following the principle of "shooting the messenger", this nameless viewer, who sounds like he had experienced pain in watching the video and whose arguments for not playing the video are questionable, should on the contrary commend you on the responsible use of public funding by dutifully breaking the silence and publicly exposing the official story that defies well established scientific principles upheld by all civilizations and most prominently by eighteen hundred Architects and Engineers (www.ae911truth.org) who signed a petition demanding a reinvestigation of the 9/11 crimes perpetrated against the US and Humanity as a whole. Reading between the lines of this "Name Withheld" viewer's short comment the message is clear: please commit to oblivion a “monstrous” crime.

We lived in Italy for five years and absolutely LOVE this series of programs. It helps keep out Italian up to speed and is so typical of the people we knew. Going to Sicily and visiting the cities which are the site locations is very high on my bucket list. We watch others on MHZ and our next favorite is Blood of the Vine about the enologist in the Bordeaux region of France. These programs have good plots, are well photographed and so much better than anything else on TV today.

The US government has become a complete perversion of everything it is supposed to be. Gary Null gets it. When the only concern is empty vacuous profits instead of general welfare then we have completely lost our way, as well as our common sense. Government is run for the sake of profit blinded fools instead of in the best interests of the American people. Which means it is rash, reckless & inherently NOT 'conservative', despite the rhetoric to the contrary. Corporations not only get OUR human civil rights, but have the special privilege to sue the federal or any government in this country over future imagined fantasy profits [Chapter 11 NAFTA] which none of us is allowed to do even when they run over our children in the street. And the Trans Pacific Partnership will even erode national representative sovereignty in even worse ways. Profits will actually trump product safety legislation. Corporations break the very letter of the law with impunity. Banks got a free pass for massive fraud & perjury in the foreclosure proceedings. Telecoms got a retroactive immunity for crimes they had already committed against the original FISA law. The laws that are passed are nothing but pretzel twisted corruption that licenses the crimes the corporate lobbyists want. The very letter of the law is written on 'K' street & rushed through on some made-up 'deadline' so legislators have an 'excuse' for not actually reading them. Corporations don't pay taxes, but use our infrastructure 1000's of times as much as we who work & pay taxes here. Attorney General Holder at least was honest enough to admit it is too difficult to enforce the law on corporations. Monsanto is just evil. The main reason they want genetic modifications is because they can use it as a genetically identifiable 'tag' to claim 'intellectual property rights'/ownership of virtually all agriculture on the planet. And they don't care how many of us sicken & die on their blind pursuit of profits & power. This is a complete perversion of the reason the patent office was created in the first place. It was to be the means of technological advance & progress. Instead it is used to crush & cripple Americans & people around the globe. America, the land run of, by & for the corporate war criminals that will lead humanity into complete extinction, including their own foolish selves.

I really think someone should send this to the President and make sure that he and Michelle see it. Please contact the White House with this information at least. I decided to check out another anti-GMO "documentary" and I am once again disappointed. I want to know the truth about GMO foods, but Gary Null is a known quack. A little research on him calls into his credentials despite the fact that he does have a PhD. This film does not present a balanced view. They present numerous people as "experts" and when I research them on the internet I find out things like their only credentials are "dance instructor" who has appeared on Dr. Oz. They make vague reference to studies, but don't provide specifics. Face it, Gary Null is a salesperson. He sells snake oil - check out his website with your eyes open. Wow - he's really going off right now on your pledge drive. He sounds like an evangelical preacher. He mixes truth with lies in order to panic people. What's his cut of donations to CPT12? You owe your viewers full disclosure. Look, I have questions about the safety of GMO food and the business practices of Monsanto but I want to see facts, not FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) from a discredited radio talk show host. PBS funds should not be used by stations to promote medical quackery, as the Colorado PBS is doing by airing the Burzynski propaganda film. They need new management, if they can't figure out why this is not okay. They attempt to convey that they're only presenting the facts on a controversial matter, but this matter is only controversial in that the system hasn't succeeded in stopping this quack (yet) to protect the public. It is well established that Burzynski has not provided scientific evidence for his cancer cure claims while gaining riches and pretending that his findings are squelched by the FDA.

Once again, shame. Your obvious uncritical endorsement of Burzynski, using the movie and other cancer-quack books for fund raising, is NOT the "we present information and our viewers decide" mantra. 'THEY' are close to evil incarnate, and you cannot trust them! They are usually the government, big business, and generally those who have not asked for my guidance in what THE ALMIGHTY intends. I suspect the show will include a lot of unsubstantiated assertions from someone who makes a living presenting opinions to their audience. The topic is indeed important and timely, I hope it engenders serious study and prosecution of dishonest, criminal and illegal activity.

I can't wait to see this. I'm glad that someone has finally made a program about this subject. Is there going to be a chance of a DVD, for purchase?

I have watched PBS for many years (I'm 69), and come to value much of the objective, beautiful, and informative programing that was on it (eg. Frontline, Nature, Nova)... In the last couple(?) of years; however, I have become increasingly disenchanted with the channel 12 group of channels. Your main channel (12-1) seems to contain nothing but endless pleas for money, interspersed with Lawrence Welk, golden oldies (which were never golden, even in their heyday), and other drivel. One pledge drive no more than ends, than another starts... Think about this: WHY WOULD ANYONE GIVE YOU MORE MONEY; WHEN ALL YOU PROVIDE IN RETURN IS ENDLESS PLEDGE DRIVES??? If your budget is insufficient; maybe a ruthless look at staffing is in order... How many people do you need to run the PBS broadcasts? How many staff and resources are involved with publicity campaigns, outreach, "special programing", and a large overhead bureaucracy? To be fair; you appear to be much less overstaffed than Channel 6; but you still fill out your pledge drives with drivel. 12-3 is better, at least there is occasional interesting programing and alternate sources of news and opinions. I suspect this is a pointless gesture, but you should be aware that many in your former listener community are increasingly turned off... except for the people who enjoy pledge drives. R. B. Vaughn

Remote controlled aircraft technology was used on 9/11, and has brought us to the point today where the President has indicated he has the right to use drones against US Citizens on American soil. Thank you so much for airing this remarkable film. Answered a lot of unanswered questions, muses. This filmmaker did an excellent job of taking a complex and covert dynamic and disecting it into its component parts. Knew corporations and money were running this government/country but didn't really understand how it actually came about. I appreciate the fact that we as consumers can impact and cause change.

The movie makes the statement that ALL of Burzynski's patients will be enrolled in studies. To this day there is no patient in ANY stage 3 trial of Dr. Burzynski. In trials, grants are given so patients are NOT charged, why is the doctor charging ? In the movie it is said the Japanese company backed out due to patent issues. Why ? The reports sighted from the company state they could not recreate Burzynski's success.

On March 8th, an anonymous person wrote an informative post claiming that "There is no credible scientific or clinical evidence to support Stanislaw Burzynski's therapies....Even the FDA has issued sanctions against him – the latest warning letter was issued on October 18, 2012, ordering him to immediately cease making false promotional claims about the safety and efficacy of his antineoplaston therapy...." CPT12's response provided a link to the FDA letter, acknowledging the contents of the letter. This post and response do not appear to be on the CPT12 website now. Little wonder. Much like the Burzynski film, CPT12's staff has also made claims of efficacy of an experimental drug (e.g. "Antineoplaston therapy has had significant success rates with terminal brain cancer patients and especially in children") AND CPT12 has profited by this misleading promotion. Would this not be similar to the activity that the FDA warned in its 10/18/12 letter is verboten?

Quit trying to brainwash our youth.

Thank you for having the courage to show this movie. Dr. Burzynski is one of many true medical professionals who follow the motto: first, do NO harm. Unfortunately, he is not the only "alternative" treatment doctor who has suffered this kind of abuse. All the negative commenters need to consider: why would the FDA (whose clients are the pharmaceutical industry, NOT the American public!) be SO intent on trashing this man and his treatments? It boils down to one thing: money. Cancer treatment is a trillion dollar industry, promoting treatments that more often than not, do TERRIBLE harm AND with devastating side effects. Yet this "standard of care" is based on drugs and chemicals 30-40yrs old! The old dictum still applies: Follow the money! Thanks again Channel 12 for airing this.

I have known about this man for a long time and watched what has been done to him. I have known for a long time that the government and FDA has been trying to keep this from people and tried to keep people believing that Chemo and radiation is the only treatment available. I think it is great that this is finally coming out to the public. They need to know what our government is doing and how many people have lost someone close because of cancer and because they were not told there is other ways to help cancer patients. We need more people to stand up and get the truth out. I have lost so many friends to cancer and tried to tell them there was another way but they would not believe because they have been told everyone else who has other ways is crazy. I will pass this on and definitely will donate to this. This is important.

Loved the movie! I won't go into too much of the "skeptic answer crap" because I don't believe that it really helps. You can be skeptical if you want, but don't tell me about it until you walk in my shoes. People will believe what they want and we all have that right in the USA. Too bad if you don't live here. Unfortunately I also believe that you should be able to choose whatever treatment you desire and if you have cancer, you are terminal anyway, so what's the problem with going to whatever treatment facility you want to? The insurance should pay where you choose to go. I have had friend after friend and coworkers go to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and they all receive the same crap. By that I mean, they make you pay a huge amount up front and then they treat you with the same poison that they have used since the 60s and they "claim" they have cured them and then a couple of months later, they have a new cancer or the same cancer, but worse and it's spread all over and then they poison them some more until they are unbelievalbly weak and then the people either elect to give up because they are so sick or the hospital tells them to go home and die cause they don't want the death on their watch. And all of this is after they have taken all of their money so don't tell me about crooks and point to Burzynski. Take a look at these others. At least with Burzynski you have some quality of life. Dr. Burzynski has finished several phase II trials because he has approval to start 2 at least, so therefore, 2 must have been completed. And that is, completed to the satisfaction of the FDA's wants and desires. Here in America, the FDA is the boss and you will do the trials like they so to do them and that's it. And finally, I would like to say Thank You PBS Denver for spreading the word and showing the world hope.

I am incredibly happy to see CPT12 has shared the documentary done on Dr. Burzynski with America. I have personal experience with the clinic and I can tell you without a doubt this is REAL, his cures of terminal cases are REAL, and I AM LIVING EVIDENCE OF THIS. I am so disgusted to see this rat pack of critics saying he's a crook, quack, and CPT12 is going to "kill people by airing this". WHAT?! A terminal cancer patient knowing there's an option will kill you? Do you even hear how that sounds? Come to my family's house during my birthday when my children and grandchildren are celebrating another special day together and tell us "this information can kill". This information SAVED MY LIFE and I am not alone. When I was at the Burzynski clinic I met MANY follow up patients who were cured of terminal diseases years later. Why in the world would anyone not want former cancer patients like myself to know about the Burzynski Clinic? Can he cure every terminal case he sees? No! Did he promise me and my family a cure? NO! Why is there so much effort from this group to suppress the knowledge of an option for patients like me? This is how you respond to critics, repeatedly: "While you may disagree with our choice to air Burzynski, we believe that viewers can be the best judge of the content. Our goal is not to endorse the film or its assertions but simply to present the information." Please stop with the canned responses. The least you could have done was be prepared. Oh, wait, you WERE prepared, well in advance, on your facebook page, where doctors, scientists, oncologists, families offered you incredible amounts of evidence against Burzynski's claims. Do you realize that by presenting a one-sided view of what is clearly a propaganda piece, that many of your viewers cannot objectively "best judge the content"? Had the airing been an actual debate, discussion, with a dissenting view included (i.e., a real, licensed, certified, boarded oncologist), then your viewers might be able to discern fact from fiction, and then further explore and evaluate the evidence. By allowing this piece of garbage to be aired, you gave your viewers NOTHING in which to base any facts upon. There are many people who do not possess critical thinking skills, or are educated with the ability to spot a scam when it's right in front of them. That was your first mistake. Do you realize the harm you have caused? Can you live with the consequences of just one viewer choosing to believe in this ultimate lie, choosing to spend his/her life savings and FALSE HOPE on a clinic that is not even directed by an oncologist, much less that director's medical license having been revoked? No evidence, but you've managed to place an untold number of viewers in harm's way by airing this. Where is your moral compass?

Posters criticizing the airing of Burzynski just aren't ready for their world to be rocked, and thus choose denial. Nontheless, there is a growing grassroot movement exposing the misguided priorities of the industries and organizations that control our lucritive healthcare. At the risk of feeding another of CPT's conspiracy fantasies, I want to complain about the airing of the Burzynski film that you claim *NOT* to endorse. First off, it was insulting and dismissive of CPT's Shari Bernson to imply that critics have not seen "Burzynski The Movie" before commenting. The film has been shown on cable TV and other locations. CPT is not breaking new ground, except in the extremity of its violation of public television's mission. / Why didn't you ask your guests a key question about why they charge so high a price (some $10,000/month) for *experimental treatment* when charging patients for such treatment is considered highly unethical. / And why has Burzynski finished only one of the 61 experimental trials authorized by the FDA? Here's the obvious answer: Burzynski is simply exploiting the experimental trials process to make a fortune from the desperately ill. As a scientist I find this program totally offensive and way below the quality of PBS programming. In twenty years there is no PUBLISHED scientific evidence that Burzynski's treatment works on documented tumors. Until this occurs in the cancer field, it is almost criminal to mislead the public who are not informed of what constitutes scientific evidence of positive treatment. I feel that you will prejudice gifts from informed individuals by showing this program.

My husband was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforma Dec. 31, 1996. He received 30 days of radiation at CU Med Ctr. in Denver. We researched and chose to go to Houston to Dr. Burzynski for treatment. We lived at 8,000 ft elevation and at that time Dr. Burzynski did not have another brain tumor patient at that altitude. My husband had monthly treatments until June 1997. On May 31, 1997 CU Med Ctr did evaluations and found that my husbands brain tumor was in remission. We headed back to Houston for follow-up. With the tumor in remission, and receiving his monthly treatment, my husband died on June 18, 1997. I requested and paid for an autopsy to check the status. My husbands death was due to a fungus infection in his lungs because of the steroids he received to keep the swelling down in the brain at high altitude. Had we known the dangers at the time I would have sold the house to stay in Houston and possibly prevent this result. Dr. Burzynski had no hospital privileges in Houston at the time and it was EXTREMELY difficult to find a physician to admit my husband to the hospital. The treatment ABSOLUTELY WORKS. Our insurance company would not pay for the "alternative therapy" and therefore we paid approximately $10,000/month for these treatments. Thank God that people are still willing to seek alternative treatment and defy insurance companies and their greed.

I posted the previous comment on this show. Turned out to be comcast's fault (of course), so I wanted to balance the previous comment. (Also want to note the extreme helpfulness of the tech guy at CPT.) We finally got to see it on the third airing (Monday at 11:30 PM), and the show was terrific. However, it's too bad it won't be repeated later in the month; turns out many if not most The Piano Guys fans in the Denver signal area didn't know it was going to be on and have missed it completely.

I was quite dismayed at your CENSORSHIP/BLACK OUT of the Al Jazeera News broadcast last night -- are you BIG BROTHER or is it merely your RICH, RIGHT-WING BACKERS that was the cause of this inexcusable violation of press freedom - this is still AMERICA, regardless of the sad fact that the "upper 1%" now control 80% of all wealth/assets. I know the broadcast was not affected at the source, as I streamed the remainder of the newscast over the Internet. SHAME ON YOU! Al Jazeera provides the ONLY balanced, comprehensive news cast available to Americans and you should be proud to air it, that you would knuckle-under to censorship is not just alarming, but inexcusable!

If Channel 12 wants to continue hiding behind its duplicitous assertion that it is only presenting the facts, then it should do a far better job of presenting the facts. Here we have a charlatan who has produced a marketing movie designed to establish the efficacy of his treatments to the masses for the purposes of encouraging gullible and desperate patients to enroll in his exhorbitantly expensive trials...trials that never get published by the way. The usual way to demonstrate treatment effectiveness is to publish findings in medical journals in order that the claims can be tested and replicated. Burzinsky will be delighted that you are doing his advertising for him and helping him avoid this minor requirement or scientific accountability. If Channel 12 was really serious about presenting the facts it would include qualified specialists on the program - neither of the shills you will have in attendance are qualified to speak with any authority on this subject. Channel 12 is deliberately misleading its audience through this skewed presentation. By providing cherry-picked endorsement of a single "success" patient you are guilty of professional incompetence - still, it's easier including the testimony of a survivor given that most of Burzinsky's patients are dead. A public station has a duty of care to present information in a balanced way. Presenting a propaganda movie along with its maker and supporters, who have a clear financial gain from its airing, but with zero balance from experts in a way that would truly inform and educate is egregious behavior at best. This was a very poor editorial decision and you deserve the loss of public financial contributions that will inevitably follow.

I commend you for finding this movie and getting the word out to the public. There are many of us that have done a lot of research in the alternative cancer worlds with much success. I'm sorry to hear so many negative comments. At the very least let us see what has worked for many as Burzynski's work has. Gee. One person states he's better after receiving treatment from Burzynski. Where are your thinking skills? Maybe he's better for another reason and in spite of Burzynski? The same bunch probably think the "white" race is superior to all others. I know there are millions who would love to see that documentary too. Why not? After all, you, CPT12, have relinguished any and all responsibility, and have stated you believe your viewers should determine for themselves the accuracy and veracity of your programming. So how about it? When can I expect you to air those programs? "Free speech", right?

Congratulations to CPT-12 for having the courage to air the inspiring story of Dr. Burzynski and his cancer treatment using substances normally produced by and present in healthy persons, but missing in cancer patients, and the shameless attacks by the big pharmaceutical companies to destroy him. His documented results involve many more recoveries and longer survival than are produced by conventional chemotherapy for a wide variety of comparable cancers. The numerous comments criticizing CPT-12 for airing this program offer nothing more than name-calling and provide no facts or analysis. These critics, such as Linda Rosa, R.N., appear to be knee-jerk debunkers, all primed to join the attack on cue, most of them listed as "name withheld". Not one provides a single useful fact. They should be asked to what extent pharmaceutical companies fund them or their so-called "skeptical" organizations.

I have observed for years a "cancer industry" that supports 2 primary treatments, which are chemo-therapy & radiation. The reality is that both of these treatments are able themselves to cause cancer. It's like telling a person who is obese that they should eat more to lose weight. One of the 1st things we need to look at re:cancer, or any other disease problems, is getting beyond treating the symptoms & actually more seriously dealing with the causes. It is so well known that chemical pesticides are cancer causing (as well as thousands of other chemicals in our environment) & yet we don't convert on a massive basis to organic farming, even though recent studies show it is more productive & can increase soil health vs destroying it. That being said, I congratulate CPT12 on showing this film on Burzynski's work. There are so few media outlets in this day & age who are willing to pursue the TRUTH that many of US are forced to search the internet to seek it out. Is there bad info. out there? Yes! Do I believe that CPT12 tries very hard to not display falsehoods & quackery? Yes! Watch the film & see for yourself if it makes sense. At the very least, CPT12 is trying very hard to give US an unbiased look at controversial subjects so that we have the opportunity to make judgements crucial to our lives. As a long term cancer sufferer whose only problems resulted from the "medicine" I was given by an oncologist almost 4 years ago, I can say I've been a motivated researcher into the entire health care system versus nutrition and alternative methods to deal with cancer and just about every other "disease". Burzynski The Movie is just one of thousands of other publications dealing with the same issue, mostly written by doctors or people trained by the establishment. I have personally seen and talked with numerous oncologists and scientists involved in cancer research (among other specialities). Eventually most people will find they have cancer and will be offered the same options - options that have been used for hundreds of years with the same, general "success" rates. Same with heart disease and everything else. They will also find that all those medicine commercials are right, the numourous side effects of the medications and procedures are many and enormous. Our "cure" rates are an ficticious illusion - same as all "official" statistics such as employment rates, inflation rates, etc. The problem is simply our masters do not want cures, they do not want extended longevity, they don't want happy, prosperous people - they want control. And for that control to continue, they must reduce the population significantly in their opinion. Our masters simply want us gone, but they want our accumulated wealth before we go. The entire "health care" system is built upon this simple premise started by the same families and bloodlines that control the banks and financial system, military-industrial complex, multi-national corporations, etc. You show is being attacked by those entities or by people who simply refuse to do any serious research and analysis into any of this. Our masters reward doctors, nurses, generals, CEOs and others handsomely so they will do the dirty work. They control virtually all media and their "experts" and thereby control public opinion and perception. The public then becomes their policemen to label those telling the truth as quacks, nuts, conspiracy theorists or even terrorists. Thank you for taking on the system - soon we all will have to I imagine.

For decades mainstream media has done everything it could to support the cancer industry as it protects its useless monopoly via the government and our courts. As someone who has worked with late-stage cancer patients over many years I have seen first hand how the treatment kills far more often than the disease; by the time patients figure out the "cure" has devastated their immune system and begin to seek alternative treatments that do work, it's too often too late. Thank you, CPT12, for having the courage to show there are alternative treatments that actually work without destroying patients' health. Burzynski's method is just one way to help cancer victims heal. I hope you will continue to shed light on the destructive actions of the profit-grubbing AMA and its associated cancer societies.

A couple posters are troubled because CPT12 is airing an alternative medical treatment video, calling it quackery. I would counter that our "modern" medical establishment is largely pharmaceutical quackery. Every disease has a pill and new diseases ate "discovered" every day, along with a new pill to cure them. The most obscene are childhood disorders that require psychotropic drugs. It is with relief that we are finally able to see a documentary that airs at least one of the many promising alternative treatments for cancer. Many such promising treatments have been brutally suppressed. You can find some of this information in Massimo Mazzucco's documentary "Cancer: The Forbidden Cures." Gerson, Rife, and Gonzalez are but a few who, along with Burzynski, have struggled with the National Cancer Institute's stranglehold on this industry. It is with relief that we finally have a media outlet that has the courage to air well-researched material that the corporate media will not touch. Many thanks once again CPT12 for being the forth estate and trusting us to have the intelligence to hear many sides to a controversy and make up our own minds!

There is a huge problem with CPT's programming department when medically questionable things like "Burzynski The Movie" get on the air. There is an even larger problem when you "premier" such programs on PBS. What is your programming standard for airing medical topics? Is it "anything goes" (i.e., no standard), or is there a bar that has to be cleared? If it is "anything goes", it's time to open a discussion of Channel 12's broadcast license and whether your programming in general is serving the public good by airing propaganda for known quackery. (Oversight to assure service to the public good is why licensing exists, after all.) On the other hand, if you do indeed require programs to clear some bar before airing, then please make that standard publicly known, and then it will be time for a discussion about how appropriate that standard is (and how objectively it is applied in practice), since CPT gives airtime to dangerous quackery. It is never sufficient just to have a medical "disclaimer" to your webpage and Facebook page, or even to the airing (if you do that). Every quack who sells a bogus remedy has that on their advertising, words to the effect, "This product or service has not been approved by the FDA; you should consult your physician." They think this gets them off the hook legally, but it is a legal nullity. The only thing such a disclaimer really does is alert those of us in the know as to what to expect (i.e., unsubstantiated claims of effectiveness). In any case, CPT viewers are *not* the best judges of medical content, as you assert. (If they were, there would be no need for CPT to air any medical programs at all, be they good or bad.) Your viewers can reasonably expect that you have exercised some judgment on their behalf before you ask them to watch a program like "Burzynski The Movie". But like your viewers, you are likely as unqualified to judge the content of this movie on your own. Why have you not considered trotting over to University Hospital and asking a real oncologist to advise you on the validity of the movie's content? There is probably a sound reason why no other PBS station has picked up this program in the two years since it was created. You are not being "leading edge" by being the first. It is just being trailing-edge irresponsible.

I can't believe the caustic comments about this movie BEFORE it is even shown! Let the people see the program and make up their own minds. Do we not have free speech in this country?! Anyone with a half a brain, can figure out that the people complaining on here have one goal: misinform the public about the truth of Antineoplastons. You will notice they can't back up a single one of their claims. They only send links to their own flawed & manipulative blogs. ALl written by the same people, re-posted to give the 'illusion' that they are coming from more than one source. They also hijacked and locked the Wikipedia page - that Wiki page is comical - they claim things like: "The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center has stated: "Bottom Line: There is no clear evidence to support the anticancer effects of antineoplastons in humans."[1] - yes if you read the source - THEY NEVER SAID THAT! You can't find it anywhere! LOL another example: "Houston Press correspondent Craig Malisow mocked the film's lack of objectivity, characterizing it as "a puff-piece paean that cherrypicks facts and ignores any criticism", and criticized the project for presenting only Burzynski's side of the story.[60]" However, if you read that source, you wil see that the writer NEVER SAW THE FILM! And what he really said was: "..we don't necessarily think a puff-piece paean that cherrypicks facts and ignores any criticism.." LOL! These guys will lie, cheat and steal to meet their agenda - makes sense, since truth is what they hate most—that, and free speech. These guys would do great in HItler's SS brigade. They hate the truth of this therapy, and will stop at nothing to misinform the public. Rational Discourse is simply not on the table with these people. You will also notice that they clearly have not even watched the film. All they do is attack and intimidate people who have watched it. They refuse to actually watch it, as it means they will be forced to face the film's content - which you will also notice THEY NEVER DO! They refuse to try to debunk ANYTHING in the film. Think for yourself, judge for yourself - you believe a bunch of terrorizing yahoos or verifiable, and factual data?

He deserves jail time, not air time. And your claim that your station presents "controversial" programs to your public doesn't hold water. There is no controversy about the non-existent efficacy of his "treatments." Your station should offer a public and abject apology to your viewers and every cancer patient around the world. How can you even consider airing this. The man is one of the biggest frauds to walk the face of the earth. I watched part of whatever was on 12-3. Can't tell w/o the EPG. Near the end was a scene that was over the top. We do not show that kind of violence on the public airways. At least I think they are still public?? Passing thru without any checking is wrong. I guess if one wanted to watch it in their home it is OK but again on the public airways. I am opposed period.

As a cancer patient who received a bone marrow transplant in 2010, I am acutely sensitive to the dangers of pseudoscience. Through my journey with my disease, I talked to a number of patients who were seduced by claims of non-evidence based cures and breakthroughs presented in the media. Sadly a number of these individuals have passed away and I now take a strong stance when I see ridiculous cancer cures presented by the media. Gary Null and Stan Burzynski are complete quacks. While they make money selling snake oil, their followers die. Please do not air programs that support their dangerous non-scientific ideas.

I am dismayed to hear that channel 12 will be airing a program praising Dr. Stan Burzynski's "alternative" cancer clinic in Texas. If the station wanted to present a journalistically solid report on Burzynski's operation (including the flimsy evidence for Burzynski's "cures" and the clinic's checkered past as regards regulatory problems), that could be worthwhile. But it's a terrible disservice to your viewers to present a one-sided program that amounts to an infomercial for Burzynski's operation, helping it to continue to rake in millions of dollars from desperate and deluded cancer patients. Please reconsider this disastrous choice. Thank you.

I think it is criminal that you would showcase this doctor. I hope you will be offering opposing points of view from the scientific community to demonstrate the quackery of The Burzynski Institute. I'm extremely disappointed to find out that you will be running this INFOMERCIAL in an effort to raise money for PBS. On a recent talk show Mr Kopel made the statement that, our system is working, refering to ref 64. My opinion is that our legal system is "weak" at best and this is demonstrated every day. As an example using one of the latest issues on the ballot: . How did this even get on the ballot? Dosen't Federal law trump State law? Can't the Federal Goverment stop all funds if the state does not comply? It is clear that the people submitting this did not have a complete plan. How can a issue that has no positive value and is strictly for recreation only find a place on our constition? What is next, the game of marbles? And, if the state can have laws that conflict with Federal laws, then can cities or counties within the state have laws that conflict with state laws? and Is it OK for the state to create laws that take away citizen rights on the Constition of the United States? How far will this go? And when there are people testifying about a new amendment to our state laws, how is it that money and people from other states and countries, are brought in to further their cause especially when they do not live here or own property in the state and can't vote in ellections? I'm shocked to learn that you're promoting Stanislaw Burzynski's sales pitch on PBS. This is contrary to everything PBS is supposed to stand for.

Shame on CPT12 for being complicit in offering false hope to vulnerable families struggling with cancer. In its promo, CPT characterizes Stanislaw Burzynski as a "pioneering medical doctor" who has developed a "life-saving medical breakthrough" that has brought about the "recovery" for cancer patients in his care. Nothing could be further from the truth. "Burzynski The Movie" is pure advertisement (i.e. commercial programming) for a very expensive treatment that has, in the widespread opinion in the scientific community, failed to show that "antineoplastons" have any effect on cancer, much less cure it.  

I'm shocked that your station is airing the infomercial on Dr. Burzynski. I hope that you're living up to your mission of presenting the full story surrounding his 30+ years of selling his treatments in the absence of any reproducible success. I recommend that you invite an oncologist on air to counter the unproven claims that Mr. Merola has made in his movie and to other media outlets. Your viewers deserve the right to hear the dangers of this treatment from medical professional. Questions that I would expect you to ask Mr. Merola: 1. The Burzynski Movie is a 100% marketing movie. Eric Merola is a producer of advertisements. Did anyone at your station preview the movie? It is anti-science, manipulative and paranoid. It cherry-picks a few cancer survivors for demonstration. For a more representative sample, see theotherburzynskipatientgroup.wordpress.com for example. The websites www.burzynskimovie.com, www.burzynskipatientgroup.org and Burzynski's own clinic site are rated as dangerous by mywot.com (Web of Trust.) All reputable oncologists reject Burzynski's methods as unproven and dangerous. He won't publish his clinical research. The only "positive" information is from the clinic's PR people and mostly non-medical "healers." Please do some simple research regarding this movie and topic. It is a dangerous precedent to give free airing to a misleading infomercial. And people's lives are at stake. I don't need to tell you that the audience for such a movie has no barometer to measure the true story. This is no lone maverick hero story.

You are sure showing a lot of programs featuring doctors selling dietary supplements lately. Believe it or not some people don't accept everything they see and look up people on the internet. I've found that one of these doctors actually doesn't believe there is a link between HIV and AIDS and another shows up on quackwatch. I believe this is a commercialization of PBS and I find it offensive. They're usually just selling books, DVDs and CDs and while I realize those are nice perks for people who pledge I read a review of one of their books and apparently it suggests you go to his website to take a "free evaluation" which seems to nearly always recommend the person buy his supplements which cost lose to $800 a MONTH! Presenting alternative viewpoints and controversial theories is one thing, but at this rate I fully expect a 2 hour special from that company that advertises pills to make men "bigger" on commercial networks anytime now. You are not the PBS I have known for most of my life nor is it like any other PBS station I have seen in any other city I've lived in.

I had requested an email reminder for the Independent Lens episode of "Beauty is Embarrassing" which was scheduled to air on Saturday, Feb. 23. We're wondering why you keep showing the same 2-3 episodes of Wallander over and over again. We were very excited to see you were showing Season 1 starring Krister Henriksson. I think we may have seen the first 2 episodes of that season when all of a sudden the station switched to showing a different Wallander series starring Rolf Lassgard, but not in any particular order with the same few episodes being shown over and over again. I'm always intrigued and fascinated with Wright's works. Flawed as they may be they're still a major influence on even us non architects.

I watched this show on February 10. It was about Israel and the different foods popular there. The first half was about Israeli food and was quite enjoyable. The second half was about Palestinian food and was full of propaganda, about poor Palestinians being killed by Israelis, Israelis taking "Palestinian land" and harassing Palestinians while they pick olives and showed bias not just from the people making the food but the narrator as well. Why make a show focusing on food a propaganda piece? There was no information from Israelis such as how Palestinians use olive trees as cover to attack Israelis or how the "security barrier" ( not "separation barrier" as mentioned in the show) has cut down on Palestinian terrorism by 97%. It would have been much more enjoyable if the show had just been about food. This is one of the reasons I do not support PBS financially and I am not alone. It is a shame as PBS does have some good programs such as the ones with music.

Recently discovered Sounds on 29th and LOVE this show. Saturday nights I watch almost entirely channel 12 - great music. Especially Saturdays show with the band Go Star. My son and I really enjoyed listening to such talented musicians. Now that we know the band we want to go see them perform.

The extended response on January 29 regarding Vares episodes suggested that no warnings about content were given. There is an explicit warning about content at the beginning of each episode. Very interesting program and very helpful. Doctors I spoke to years ago told me most of the diseases and allergies we have in America are caused from our food source and environment. I have a lot of respect for Gary and know he is radical in many viewer's opinions but I feel that is exactly what we need today. Someone that will not hold back to truth just to be politically correct. I appreciate all that he is doing and have three of his books. He is definitely on the right track and I am glad he is standing firm. As I watched the program today I also have to give a lot of stars to Sherry that was the hostess for this program. I have dish and I have it pre programed to auto tune into Dinosaur Train at 9:30am the thing is today we ended up watching sid the science kid. While sid is a very good show and is also the kind of educational thing I like my two year old son Harold to watch, it is a bit over his head and he is having a hard time understanding why Dinosaur Train was not on today. Unfortunately I didn't hear from anyone else. This same show ran again a few days to a week later as "To Be Announced." I only saw a brief part and it contained material And characters that I saw on January 6, 2013. I believe I found the show on January 13 & 20, 2013. It is called Private Eye Vares, garter Snake. This past Wednesday another show ran called Spiral at 8-9 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Spiral outdid the Private Eye show by a wide margin. I did not finish Spiral. The offensive part was from 15 minutes to 45 minutes in the running. I apologize in advance for the material I describe below. First came a woman questioned about murdering her husband. she admitted to a brutal killing of her husband. She caught him bringing his homosexual lover home to have sexual relations while their children were home. The next 2 subjects get rougher. I object to these even more strenuously. The second came about 30 into the running. this may be the same person killed by the woman above. A University Professor converted 2 rooms next to his office to special uses. the first was a museum of something. The second room was entered from the first and much more private. It was specially equipped for sex with his lovers and used for that purpose. Although not real clear there seemed to be special furniture and other things hanging on the walls. The Professor died while having sex with one of his partners. He was being fisted. His partners fist was inserted into his rectum. Unintentionally the rectum ruptured and he died. A comment was made about waiting for the man to pass them to find out what was in them. I assumed the man would pass them into a toilet. Around the same time as the fisting subject the following scene was shown 2 times. A man in silhouette was squatting on the floor with something on the floor underneath him. Then he panics, grabs handfuls of the stuff up and tries to eat it. The pile was feces with the package(s) in it and he was trying to hide the package(s). I didn't recognize it in the first scene but it was clear the second time it was shown. I turned it off at that point. One of the things that really bothers me is that C-12 receives these movies from MHZ Networks. their replies to me usually tell me that they then broadcast them without reviewing them. that has always bothered me a great deal. then C-12 will state that they will check on it but I never hear back. These movies are also broadcast WITHOUT Ratings. I believe this material is just too objectionable to be shown. they should be required to view each or before broadcast. Additionally C-12 should order the movie produced to fit our standards . I found it in a response by CPT-12 to a viewer. I had heard from several people here in the Land of John Adams, the Massachusetts Senator from Pittsburgh (and I guess soon2B SECSTA) that Colorado Public TV had broadcast this documentary, and I wanted to say "Thank you." But last night found that would have perhaps been waaay too anemic. The setting: Central Pennsyltucky, slightly above the flood plane of the mighty, yet innocent-seeming Susquehanna, at least when it sleeps in its own bed. Looking for a movie to watch with my 96-year-old mom, to jostle her out of her inward-looking complaints. Ahh, I thought, why not try the CPT12/AE911truth thing? So we watched it together. From time to time I had to add the "captioning for the hearing impaired" myself (at aet. 70 I have my own audio issues, too). First off, I had no idea that you'd used this documentary/exposé as an anchor pledge drive event; no idea that you'd put together a substantial range of research/membership options, including, what was it, "The 9/11 Survival Pack". Wow. And the "interstitials" with Gage and your own Shari Bernson and volunteer Tom Colbert (hope I got the names right--I couldn't find a staff directory online) actually contributed to further understanding and new sources of information, including what I take to be a "local" psychologist(?) who was also in the documentary/exposé. Gutsy, gutsy, gutsy. Laudable, commendable (huzzah!). And though my mother is now encountering difficulties in the memory department, this broke through and reached her reservoir of little-old-lady-in-tennis-shoes outrage. Now I can start working on WGBH in my little town, and perhaps a couple of the "community access" cable outlets in Eastern MA. As someone put it, we have nothing to lose but our chains. And, just in case some of the talent behind 9/11/2001 et sequitur (and before, as well) manages to shuffle off this mortal coil before we're all able to give them the acknowledgement they merit, I'm thinking we need something like an Academy of Political Arts & Sciences (APAS) to give out awards for outstanding work. We could have it parallel the Oscars, with nominations and then an awards ceremony--maybe little statuettes of "Patsy," or "Guy" (as in Fall Guy); perhaps The Flaggie, with the flag or flags of the performers on one side, and the flag associated with Patsy or Guy on the other -- in a solid block of polished Ward's BioPlast, framed in gold. We'd need help defining the categories: Flaggie for Best Special Effects in a False Flag Operation easily comes to mind. Perhaps "Most Convoluted Plot In A Daytime False Flag Operation," "Best Actor In A Supporting Role"--Dubyuh would be one obvious nominee, as would Darth Cheney for "Best Lead Actor in a Guiding Role," or perhaps just "Best Director in a False Flag Performance." And so on. Someone's put together a nice list of 103 ± individuals who would most certainly be among the nominees. (See: http://www.whodidit.org/cocon.html.) At the "Flaggies" award ceremony(ies), all nominees would be invited, video clips of nominees' performances shown on the "rilly big screen" as Ed Sorrowman might have put it, along with trappings similar to that of the Oscars. The voting APAS members could actually serve as a grand jury, and the Master(s) of Ceremonies could say, instead of "the envelope, please," "Bring me the indictments, please." I'm not sure about all the logistics, such as whether we'd need something like a lion-tamers' cage, into which all the award winners and runners-up would be invited, and read their Miranda rights. And staging the c. 200 POWs who'd been tortured to death in order to extract false confessions might be difficult--and their relevant awards would have to be made, obviously, posthumously, with survivors/heirs accepting the Patsies on the victims' behalf. Much more to be worked out, natch', but inasmuch as our federal, state and local prosecutors have not on their own launched this kind of awards ceremony preparation, nor have Writs of Mandamus been lodged against the nominees or those in the gummint system charged with the duty to "Take care that the Laws be faithfully executed" as is made explict for the President in Article II of the Constitution, this perhaps could be a useful simulacrum to "establish Justice," as the Constitution's Preamble puts it. Folks, (Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013) I had the opportunity to view "Explosive Evidence" as an on line download presented on YouTube within the last couple of weeks. My contact with the subject matter was but two months ago with an accidental discovery while looking at "government corruption and lies" being the search criteria. I found several sites prior covering the scientific analysis of the destruction of the WTC twin towers and WTC building 7. Dr. Steven Jones, formally with BYU in Utah, was my first discovery and based on the mans credentials and his perspective and comments on this episode in 2001, it could not be dismissed as just another theory and then with a look at a 2011 meeting held in Toronto Canada again featuring another group who had similar credentials as Dr. Jones saying and showing the same thing, it could overwhelm the senses, if allowed, to imagine a government so evil, so demonic, so dark and so bent on doing the unimaginable things described. I was converted, my eyes and heart opened, and the clarion call for action now fills my thoughts. I am 71 years of age, a retired Bell Tel employee, diverse in activities, a Christian in beliefs, and ardent admirer of the founders of our Republic and their wisdom. But as it may well be, this very point in history may be as historic as 1776 if the truth of this demolition can be born out with public hearings, away from any government influence, with stations such as yours reporting on the proceedings, our hurt nation may yet see another one hundred years of freedom for the cleansing that would result from the inquiry. My plea to your station management is this. Make every effort to discuss with other PBS outlets, such as KETC-TV9 here in St. Louis Mo., and as many as will listen, to do the right thing, fulfill their mandate, show courage and backbone, stand up for this and see if it is possible to save our nation from certain destruction within. The pledge break hosts during the Joe Bonamassa segment (1/19/13, approx. 12:50pm) who kept saying that "Driving Towards the Daylight" is grammatically incorrect came across as idiots and sullied the credibility of the station. Both "toward" or "towards" are entirely grammatically acceptable. The two hosts were so annoying that I turned the channel.

Lots of money in point of view programming. Good fund raising plan from CPT12! So as funding becomes a higher priority then apparently there is no reason to exclude conspiracy topics. Those viewers have money too! But all externally produced programming should include thorough and frequent disclosures of source and objective of the providers and announce to viewers alternative/rebuttal programming as well. Idea: Should all PTV list programming acquisition costs associated with individual programs (was it free or did it cost a lot?) along with disclosure of the principals and their funding sources, etc. If PTV is not in a position to perform a sniff-test for us then at lest provide a lot of sunshine since "Sunshine is the best disinfectant."

I love public television, but the fact that you are airing this 9/11 truther bullshit has made my decision easier, I'll never give you a damn dime. I tuned in near the end of this show, so I did not see the whole thing, HOWEVER, from what I did see, I am appalled at the lack of correct information being pushed by your show about 'assault weapons'. First of all, the TERM 'Assault Weapon' is a made up term being used to demonize and 'make scary' to the public, certain weapons...and now semi-automatic firearms of all types, are being lumped into this falsely labeled and made up ‘category’ of weapons. Secondly, an 'assault weapon' truly is anything (whether firearms, knives, blunt objects, or other) that either has been already, or is intended to be, used to commit an assault...PLEASE keep in mind that I PURPOSELY said "HAS BEEN ALREADY, OR IS INTENDED TO BE USED"...differentiating from any 'potential to be used' but where there is no intent...whole different subject there. The definition of an 'assault rifle' is a FULLY AUTOMATIC RIFLE, capable of firing MULTIPLE bullets with a SINGLE PULL OF THE TRIGGER. The M16 is such a fully automatic rifle, currently used in our US Military. However, the civilian version AR-15 is NOT a FULLY automatic rifle. The AR-15 is a SEMI-automatic rifle, capable of firing ONLY ONE bullet for each SINGLE pull of the trigger. The two weapons are similar in APPEARANCE…NOT in Functionality regarding number of rounds capable of being fired, specifically in the same amount of time. Also, the word ‘clip’ is being used interchangeably with the word ‘Magazine’ which is incorrect. A magazine is what is holds the bullets, and is used to feed the weapon itself…whereas a clip is used to load a magazine. Clips make loading magazines easier and faster than hand loading a magazine.

Loved this panel interview. I work for a biological science institution and really enjoyed this sector of science this morning. I felt Mr. Bolden did a great job showing collaboration with his colleges and the whole interview made me feel good about science and our needs as a society.

Kimberly was in the company of a gentleman who was apparently angry and showed his anger by dragging Kimberly along side his truck. Once Kimbely let go the young man ran over Kimberly and left the scene. From my understanding this gentleman recieved a sentence of 1 year probation. Kimberly was in possession of drugs in the hospital, where she was arrested. How can attempted murder or vehiclar homicide carry a charge of 1 year probation? David Koppels comments last night implying the the Aurora theatre shooter drove past two other movie houses showing Batman, to reach his destination, because its was a gunfree zone to committ his carnage was so outrageous and reckless it left me speechless. What an interesting line-up of personalities and styles! Please have more cooking shows promoting the vegan lifestyle like this one. It is so informative and fun! However, many of the recipes do not seem to be available as shown on the show, and that has been frustrating! Thank you!

On Jan. 3 I tuned into Ch. 12.2 to see Haunted Texas, and just before that program were scenes of Rick Steves on a canal boat, Papillon. What is the canal, and in what country is it? I became interested in canal boats after reading Roseanna, by Maj Sjowall, which is set on the Gota Canal in Sweden.

If you cannot control when the IPAWS test is done you certainly can choose what type of programing is interrupted by it. Lets compare Paint this with Jerry Yarnell and one of the popular cooking shows that you televise. If on the cooking show they are giving an important tip on the making of a particular dish, or telling you the temperature to cook at and the amount of time to cook and the IPAWS test comes on I am not going to get that tip or the temp or time because the damn test is going on and that is the only thing I can hear. So I either have to guess at what info might have been given and ruin my dinner or I just wasted my time watching and writing instructions down for nothing, and have to cook something else for dinner. It is the same with Jerry Yarnell's show, if he is giving specific instruction to the painting and I cannot hear them and I have already started my painting now I can either guess (which if I did not need the instruction I would not have been watching) or I can just destroy my canvas in frustration and quit watching your TV station because its apparent you do not seem to care if we can get it or not as long as you get our money!! Solution: Change programming to a different time so IPAWS will not affect these instructional type shows. Because who cares if Charlie Rose or Victory Garden, Or god forbid we interrupt Euromaxx or Scully The world show you get the idea! Keep art shows cooking shows knitting, sewing etc out of the time slot that the test is being given. I know it will take someones time and effort but then it always takes someones time or effort to make your programming changes anyway. Its just part of the job and someone is already being paid anyway.

i have been following this market warriors show you broadcast, today it was on in the early evening after the road show. i cannot believe that this show meets your standards. a couple of quick comments. as a denver area appraiser and antique and art dealer, i feel that the show is quite false in many ways. it represents dealers as uninformed and haphazard. the "dealers" in the show appear to know little about any area, they usually lose money when their picks are sold. if something makes money is soley a lucky event not based on insightful purchases with an eye towards their marketability. if i ran my businesses the way they do i would not make money either. in addition they are always hammering everyone they deal with to give me a better price, make the price lower. they apparently do this because they are not sure if they can make money and this dickering for the lowest price gives them better odds. i find it obnoxious for a dealer to continually ask for a discount. most often i will offer a dealer a wholesale type price but if they ask me to sell an item for significantly lower that that friendly price that would not be accepted. the code in the antiques and art business is not hammer your contact for the lowest possible price but rather pay a fair price and respect the seller. it is imporatant to respect when any discount is given something that is lost on the participants of this show. when the woman on the show attempts a purchase, often she asks to buy an item for 1/2 of the wholesale price! that kind of behavior is offensive. you may like this show because of other related inane shows like pickers that are currently on cable. the market warriors is a terrible show. i hope you drop it. it makes a mockery out of what i do and dealers that i know are not happy you chose it to broadcast for these and many other reasons ma

I think it's from ionizing radiation. That's why no one can seem to believe this. Though there were reports that many construction crews were lining the building with wiring jobs, and this was shown way before this occurred, an article on wiki re ionizing radiation , if you read through it down near the bottom sayd ionizing radiation can break the crystal lattices of metal. I've not heard of any radiation testing but then they keep this weapon very quiet. Shame on them. I don't think anyone has considered this, and the sudden death of a seemingly healthy young man who was taken away by an ambulance and died the next day would account for ionizing radiation exposure at a lethal dose. The article I read on wiki,shows a (small)cyclotron of blue light ion beam. Coincidentally, in memoriam, 2 blue light beams shine daily on the site, though these are not ionized, but super powered blue light rays, bit too coindidental. Radiation has been the mystery, cure and curse of the centuries. We were told in a force com meeting about 2 weeks prior to 911 that we were going to be attacked, but they did not know if in europe or the US. To me, this makes sense, since I've had mystery illnesses, yet when I searched ionizing radiation and infections/treatments of infections (i'm talking too many CT scans/isotopes/xrays) suddenly I don't have the very serious illness I've been told I have. I have Radiobiology for the Radiologist, 2006 Ed, page 159 shows numerous diseases caused by radiation which was "discovered in the late 1800's? The charg on pg 159 lists Huntington, Cleft palate, lip, color blindness, Cystic Fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, Down Syndrome, and many others. This book is from Stanford Radiologist, and purchased online Amazon. I've had all the bacteria infections listed in the treatment of infections from ionizing radiation re IV meds for weeks/months. And the lies from UCH "mds". What the hell are they doing? This giant NIH facility. Destroying people.

Viewed MPT news with David Kopel as one commentator. After being disgusted with his "analsis" that guns with only a "cosmetic" resemblance to actual assault weapons are simply "ordinary" guns-despite (as another guest pointed out) having large clips. Few people are naive enough to believe that the appeal for these guns is simply for hunting or shooting. These weapons look like military issue arms, and therein lies their obvious appeal(at least to most people). It is unfortunate that a public TV station such as yours would feature an NRA hack like Kopel, who panders to the "gun crowd". I know of Colorado's wild-west history and understand the hunting ethic, but Kopel's comments showed an insensitive disregard for the suffering caused by Sandyhook, and reflects badly on your network. Have you all forgotten Colombine?

Congratulation for your audacity in airing this program. However, I must say that I find absolutely embarrassing how, right from the beginning, the producer dismisses very serious work done by so many people that have had the courage to challenge the government accounts for what really happened on September 11, 2001.Here are some good examples: 9/11 In Plane Site , produced by David von Kleist and William Lewis, Overview of the 9-11 Truth Movement - Carol Brouillet, Report on the Berlin September 11, 2003 Conference, Barrie Zwicker (producer of The Great Deception/organizing the Toronto Int'l Inquiry- Phase 2), The Great Endarkenment 9/11 Inquiry, March 26, 2004, Gray Brechin, Ph.D. Thousands of individuals are clalling for the subpoena of government officials beginning with Cheney and Bush and even Obama. You present your program as a novelty with sizable income potentials, in my opinion you are diluting the importance of this situation. I would like to see public television move to a more proactive roll on this topic so vital to our existence as a society.

The following are my opinions regarding the infomercial "Eating" airing during fundraising: Every so often the cancer quackery of the 1930-50's gets rejuvenated. CPT-12TV has *once again* chosen to put dangerous nonsense before the public - complete with fear-mongering, conspiracy theories, and bogus experts. It is disturbing that CPT-12TV has so little regard for public health that it gives air time to this film's "experts" so that they can defame science-based medicine and promote bogus products - books, lectures, unregulated "nutritional supplements," expensive juicers, and even a Tiajuana cancer clinic. Gerson Method is considered old-timey cancer quackery that, unlike its victims, just won't die.

The 11/30 show on how meat inspectors put a sausage maker out of business struck home with me. Growing up my family had a hog farm, and we had often but unannounced visits by inspectors from the federal, state, and county levels. While the inspections were generally a good idea, we were completely at the mercy of the inspectors and how they felt about you. Most of the time we got along with them and they usually weren't unreasonable, but at times there was friction. For one thing, inspectors would almost always write you up for minor violations just because they had to prove to their bosses that they were doing their jobs (there was always something, because there were hundreds of pages of regulations covering hog production). Or one inspector would move on and you would get a new one who had to prove something or just wanted to "earn" a promotion (fortunately, since they considered the job a stepping stone they didn't hang around long). And you often got the feeling that they had been told from on high to start picking on one issue or another without any sense of logic at all (as the sausage maker said on the program, you were doing absolutely nothing different, but one day they came down on you like a ton of bricks). A few times we felt at the mercy of a faceless bureaucrat somewhere above the level of the inspectors who just wanted to assert his authority. They can't bring down a big meat packer without major repercussions, but nobody cares about small family businesses. The sausage maker depicted on the show could have been the victim of a bureaucrat somewhere who just didn't think prepared meats were healthy. But he'll never know, and he realistically has no course of appeal.

Please stop providing a venue for quackery by broadcasting programming from the likes of Gary Null. Thanks.

I pay my federal income tax. The federal government, in turn, gives you a fair share. Philosophically, I cannot support government supported media. They tend to lose journalistic objectivity. I was raised to deplore state supported media like Pravda. I feel state supported media cannot fairly report news for fear of losing government support and such practice leads to creeping government control, which I oppose.

I'm about done watching your program, Colorado Inside Out. The panelist(including the moderator) do not reflect the political makeup of Colorado. You have one moderate centerist and four conservitives. This in a state with a democratic governor, house, senate and has voted for the democratic canadate for president the last two elections. It is routine to have panel members make statements that are simply not true and there is no one, including the "moderator" to challange the untruths spoken. For exzample, on tonights show one panelist seemed to be making the claim that social security somehow added to the deficit and no one brought up the 2 1/2 trillion dollor surplus the program has. This program, which I used to greatly approve of, has degenerated into a low grade propaganda outlet with, at best, one ineffective token "progressive" member. It's to bad, this used to be a good program.

I am 81 years and have been involved with A Course In Miracles for 28 years and TM for 37 years. I am in excellent health, I have not seen a doctor in over 40 years. The medical world is based on experimentation and guess work to those who think the ego intellect is smarter than the psyche and wisdom of your own metabolism. Hi, Love the show. I've been watching for over a decade. I believe you could improve the show if you had under 40 liberal panelists occasionally. There are currently several under 40 conservative on the panel. New blood. Dave Koppel is very intelligent, but sometimes comes across as abrasive. At other times he's respectful. Split personality? It seems he hates everything. He says he caucused for Obama in 2008, but hates him. Lastly, I really dislike the "Vintage" shows. Please stop!

If the content of the post itself didn't provide sufficient direction, my furnishing of the exact name of the program in the appropriate space certainly should have. Joan's recent reinvention of the WTC towers' steel-framed, 47-column cores as poured-in-place reinforced concrete, based on a spurious Internet web site whose link she courageously posted with an endorsement of its deliberately misleading information as "a very detailed analysis," is testament enough to CPT12's interest in actual facts - as is hosting Mr. Gage in the first place - but this is simply a matter of basic journalistic integrity. I so enjoy this program/paid programming when it comes on. I love hearing all the old music and seeing them perform today. It's just so wonderful I'd really like to see them all the time. Newer and newer ones each time. They may be the same songs but boy, the memories attached are priceless.

What did you do with Moyers & Company that airs on Sundays 10:00 on 12.2? TV Guide says it's on, you posted/announced no schedule changes, your website for schedule listings sucks (I'm sure you know) so that only 12.1 can be accessed. So, what did you do with the show I watch every week? I am NOT interested in ORegon Grapes (the show now airing), and this doesn't come close to satisfying my civic interest. I gave you money this year - am now regretting it. And I won't be accepting newsletters or alerts - if you can change the schedule at the drop of a hat without bothering to choose something that would appeal to the same audience, what would the point be?
