Cassandra has a love for people and wanting them to have the opportunity to try fiber art in the form or knitting or crocheting. She has a heart of gold and wants all ages to come together and learn from one another. I offer people in the Westminster area to come to my home to learn for the same reasons Cassandra has her shop. She will be an added diamond to the downtown area and a place for those working to enjoy peace and quiet during lunch while getting projects and gifts made! Thank you Cassandra for your vision and love!
The Yarn Shoppe is a great place to get ideas. Whatever you want to make there is a helping hand at the yarn shoppe. Cassie always make the artisan, who display their work at the shoppe, feel welcome and talented. I teach knitting lessens at the shoppe, its so great to see someones eyes light up when they first start knitting and believing they can knit. Fiber Arts are a wonderful way to create. From a scarf to a sweater or a baby blanket it is always fun and rewarding.

Regarding interview of Cassandra Brown--Bags by Cab/Yarn Shoppe
Eden: Just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed your Sunday interview of Cassandra Brown and her 'Bags by Cab/Yarn Shoppe'. It is so cool that she is sharing this gift she learned as a child with others...flavoring her teaching with enthusiasm and a service-oriented philosophy. And what a role model she seems to be as she encourages, motivates & supports other women with their home-based businesses. I also appreciated how Cassandra offers a format for community bonding between children, adults & seniors as they gather to experience this craft of yore. It brought back memories of when Rosey Grier (former'Fearsome Foursome' Rams football player & 1973? author of "Needlepoint for Men')during an interview stated that he learned to do needlepoint for the enjoyment, beauty & stress release. What a wonderful outlet for the stress & tension that Americans experience today...whether female, male, young or old. Having taught stress management for 30 years, this makes sense. The tensing & release movement of the hands while doing knitting, crocheting or needlework emulate the stress reducing technique of 'clench, hold & release' that helps to reduce the 'fight or flight' response. Keep up the good work Cassandra....keep on sharing your joy and decreasing our stress!

Today Sunday, you had a show on that showed a woman's kitchen was being remodeled. The show showed the counter top being replaced. Very briefly shown was a type of tape that was photographed and then the information was put into a computer which translated the info from the tape to calculate measurements for the new counter top. I would like to know what the tape was and how and where to get more info on the tape and the program and camera. Thank you very much. I have tried to look it up, but I can't find anything. Help -- do you know the CO csap is administered in early March? Educators have to cram a 9 month curriculum into 6 months because the CDE testing facility requires 6 months to grade the tests (for those of you who are math challenged we lose 1/3 of our teaching time) ? You could also say that the time lost is equal to 50% of the time we have to teach!
My full year teaching schedule is truncated by 3 months! I lose approx 3 mos of teaching time so we can "take the test" in early March because the "system" needs an additional 6 mos to grade the tests!!?? PLEASE HELP ME change the system. Give me the missing 1/3 of the time we are SUPPOSED TO HAVE to facilitate learning.
Results matter - for our local cities, for the state, for the US, and for the planet. This is borderline criminal, for sure immoral. PLZ Help.

Inquiring about a program that was on a couple weeks ago
Hi, About two weeks ago, you had a documentary type program on that discussed how our food is processed. Specifically it discussed how cows, pigs and chickens are treated from the beginning to the end. The abuse they endure while being fattened up or prepared for slaughter and the drugs/hormones they are given. This program was horrifying and excellent in terms of educating us about what is going on with our food. My husband and I decided at that moment to go vegetarian. We haven't eaten meat since we saw that show. In addition, they showed how dogs and cats are food in other countries (animals we value as pets). In other countries, cows and pigs are considered sacred, yet in America we don't see it that way. It really had an impact on us. Could you please tell me the name of this program and who was the primary person that narrated the show. I would like a copy of this show if it is available. Please let me know. Thank you. I've never been big on following the soaps, but "I Love You" is a slice of life in Korea and it is addictive. Unfortunately, I stumbled upon it mid-story. Will it be re-wound and played from the start anytime in the future? I also make sure my Sunday chores are done in time to watch "International Mystery"...especially the dramas that take place in Sweden and Norway. I would like to see "Inside Taiwan" moved to (or re-aired at) an evening slot. Taipei is a city I travel to and I enjoy seeing it in this news program.

Programming on 12.1 versus 12.2

Hello KBDI, For the last few nights, the programs listed on your website for 12.1 and 12.2 have been the same. I think they are showing the correct programs for 12.1 but not for 12.2. Just thought I'd mention that in case no-one else has. I check your website almost every evening to see what's on that night. Craig Rice
No, we will not be airing CITIZEN ARCHITECT. It sounds like a great program but unfortunately we can only air a finite number of PBS programming hours and so we simply can’t air all the great programs PBS offers. There are just too many to choose from!
I'm writing from San Francisco where the station that broadcast EE, no longer does. A few of us fans want to know where in the storyline EE's episodes are in Denver in hopes of geting someone to record the shows and send them to us for private viewing on a monthly basis. Very few PBS stations still broadcast EE and some of them are far in advance of where we were in the story. We were about summer of 2003 BBC time... with Janine toying with Barry, Alfie and Kat not yet together, Laura's baby not yet born etc. Where is Denver? And does anyone know someone for who would record and send ( reliably) for a bit of lolly. Thanks. HE
Hello from Denver! EastEnder fans certainly are everywhere! Your best bet is to find someone you know if you wish to record the program for private viewing. We simply don’t have the rights to record them for private use. Another option would be to visit www.walford.net where you can see a synopsis of an episode.

I watched Wednesday night's episode of Studio 12, August 18th and Michael Brown Lee from Transition Colorado mentioned some event going on in Boulder from 8/24 to 9/4 I believe. As you may know, every year there’s a Mark Twain prize awarded to a recipient and then PBS makes a program out of it. Last year Bill Cosby was the recipient. Since Bill Cosby was last year's recipient we will not be airing that particular awards show again. However, we do plan on airing the Mark Twain show this coming year. As of yet, we don’t know who will be the recipient or when it will air. Be sure to check our website www.cpt12.org for the latest program schedules.

It is just that the actual number of viewers for the program EastEnders is pretty small according to the Neilsen report and our membership data.

I am sitting here enjoying Celtic Thunder, but I am really unhappy...the last time it was on I called and donated $60. I was under them impression that the CD I would receive was what was going on on the TV. I was really disappointed to discover that the CD was acctually Take Me Home, which wasn't really what I wanted, but I assumed that I was mistaken over what I had heard in the presentation. But the preceding progrms (I watch every time), the CD was always It's Entertainment. Unfortunately my finances do not permit me to order this new one, but I do feel that I have been somehow duped, and the CD I was sent was not fully explained....maybe next year I will be able to afford the one I wanted all along.
I used to look forward to wrapping up my weekend by spending a whole hour EVERY Sunday night in Walford, East London, UK, following those nutty brits and their misadventures on EastEnders. Now, by the time I get to see one half-hour episode, I have no idea what happened on the previous show that I saw three weeks ago. This programme is a serial - it continues each time from where it left off and should be shown every week so we can keep up and remember where we were and what happened. CPT12 shows the same fundraising programmes every night over and over, and I would think they might receive more support if they showed something new - people don't want to watch something again if they've already seen it once, especially with the repetitive pledge breaks stuck in there. I understand that they need to raise money, but I'm wondering how well they are doing it - I've stopped tuning in all together as I've already seen everything they are broadcasting, more than once. Also, I don't want to have to search You Tube for the exact episode I'm waiting to see, and then sit in front of my computer to watch it. I have a very nice TV in a room with a comfortable couch, and it may never be tuned to CPT12 again . . . How many weeks after Sept. 5 will it be before another new EastEnders is shown???? I've got an idea: Cancel your subscription with the BBC if you won't air them for us to watch - that would save you lots of quid, then you won't have to raise so much in donations.

I am so sick and tired of all the negative that this man does and keeps the public so angry. He is terrible and so off his rocker. obama was voted in no matter what anyone might have wanted. He is in office for 4 years. We the people know what has to be done and it will be done when he leaves office. We should respect him and stand behind him as our President. Look at the way Bush left the office. Both Bushes. Clinton had to clean up after the first Bush. That debt we have lets not forget Bush left 1 trillion of it when he left office. At least Obama is trying to do something for the country, all Bush could do was bail out his brother in Colorado and help get his brother in Florida in office and kill the man his father couldn't kill (Saddam). When he had the chance to get rid of the current terrorists he didn't. He quit pursuing him. So quit putting your anger on the public. We don't want to hear from it. We'll make the choices in 2 years.

I laughed until I cried at Tavis Smiley's recent interview with his pal, Garry Shandling. I have it saved on my DVR and only wish that I could download it onto a disc or something. Why was McLaughlin Group on Friday night at 7:30 in place of Inside Washington? MG is a terribly annoying show and I go out of my way to avoid it. All they do is yell and shriek at each other and there are usually four conservatives to one liberal. That show sucks and this is why I do not watch it on Ch 6. Please do not bring it to Channel 12! I started watching the special on John Denver, and was intrigued by the hosts of the show promoting the program. The thing that bothered me most was simply they did not identify themselves, nor are they even mentioned on the website for CPT12. Is there any way to update the website at least to specify who is hosting which program? I would have liked to know who was hosting, but tuning in late, I had no idea. Thanks for your time.
I am interested to know if you have or are planning on airing the special segment Hugh Downs presented on a company called Emerald Express. It talks about glutathione being the most important antioxidant in increasing immune function and slowing down the aging process. I read a great report that the company put out and saw that Hugh Downs had featured them in his Insights program. The ASPCA had a Sarah McLachlan ad which ran for some time with manipulative, abusive images which I was fortunate enough to be able to skip by DVR. They have since reformed the ad, and I actually can pay attention rather than skip quickly past feeling violated. It seems that the "Eating" program, what little I saw of it, uses the same paradigm of shock and abuse of the viewer. I'm sure the producers believe their message is important and absolute; however, when someone or some entity aims for a strong emotional reaction without my permission, I assume there is an ulterior motive, most commonly that they've got propaganda to sell and don't want me to get 'confused by the facts', as that famous quote describes it. In the end, though, it amounts to emotional abuse and is unacceptable. I tune in to ch.12 for interesting, even cutting-edge thought provoking content. I love what you have to offer, in general. "Eating" appeared to be MTV for the animal-rights sects, mind-numbing that transcended any information they might have had to offer. Just like yelling pitchmen, smarmy evening news anchors with 'all the news you need' and endless laugh tracks, bringing back Morton Downey Jr-style presentation in visual form is a parody of itself, a tasteless version of "Eating."

master sha saved my life

I don’t have a TV so I cant watch the program, but a friend told me Master Sha was going to be on tonight. Master Sha and his teachers have helped me to heal: depression, separated ribs, OCD, open my spiritual channels, shift my mindset, and purify my soul, heart, mind, and body. I first met Master Sha in Boulder, he asked for a volunteer to demonstrate a healing. Master Sha gave a healing for my back and one of his top students did one for my chest, which at least one rib had torn off from the chest plate. My chest was lifted up without being touched and reset. It blew my mind! I grew up a fundamentalist Roman Catholic. And I am still a Christian today. However, I have opened my heart to the concept of oneness. This is such a special man. He saved my life. Being with him is like taking a Rocket Ship Ride to Heaven. My own father worked 100 hours a week when I was growing up. Master Sha is the hardest workingman I have ever met and he does it from a place of such pure love and unconditional service. It is rare to be with such a great and powerful soul like this. Don’t miss an opportunity to learn and grow with him.
After reading Gary Null's bio, there is even less excuse for the program airing during the recruitment drive. He has excellent credentials and yet the program comes off as amateurish and cheaply done. It felt like a bad late-night infomercial. For someone with his experience, I would expect a much higher production quality and a more sophisticated approach. The fact that it is one of your most successful pledge drive programs speaks volumes about your subscribers. I am afraid I cannot be counted among them. Tom in Greeley

RAVE diet idiot

Who decided to put on the idiot promoting the RAVE diet? I have never heard such a biased, inaccurate program on PBS. Never. I was stunned to see it. That guy makes so many blatantly wrong statements I lost track. The sad part is that his general premise is correct. Why make up a bunch of lies to support something that is obviously correct? Why are PBS viewers not outraged? I guess I will have to go over to Ch 6 for real PBS content. Tom

This is more than just the Devil's advocate show, but other programming as well. I checked the tv guide online, it mentioned that Devil's Advocate as having Close Captioning. CC. I do not know if that show really has caption or not. Just want to let you know to be sure it is caption, if it is not, do not tell the tv guides that it is. It would be considered deception. Colorado Decides 2010 is not caption, yet on the tv guide, it shows as CC. By the way, this show needs to interview candidates of other parties such as America Constitution Party, Green Party of Colorado, Unity Party, and Libertarian Party of Colorado in addition to the Dem and Rep. If you already did that great, if not. Do it. Caption it by the way. Caption them all. Be Deaf friendly! Regardless of what hearing people thinks, Deaf people are interest in politics and discussions and debates. Why do you have three channels. 12.1 and 12.2 and 12.3? What is the meaning of these? Thanks.

I just heard, on KBDI, Gary Null claim that immunizations cause autism. Good grief, this claim has been shown to be bogus many times over by extensive, legitimate research. Furthermore, the media is reporting that Null and several of his followers recently became seriously ill from taking mega doses of vitamin D by consuming his "Ultimate Power Meal." This sort of incident is inevitable with supplements exempt from FDA regulation. I ask you to show video's on 9/11, and raise awareness into this subject. I saw the Press For Truth video for the first time about a year and a half ago, and it changed my life forever. Thanks to KBDI, I have done extensive reading, veiwing of DVDs, gone to meetings, and met with others who feel as I do. I like so many others, now know the truth that 9/11 was an inside job by the Bush Administration. They received a ton of help by the Israeli Mossad, but the majority was all the Bush's and DICK Cheney. I ask you show this more often, and please put the "Food" DVDs on the shelf for a while. I know the meat is tainted, and our farmers don't practice humane practices in the livestock industry. I have started fighting against that as well b/c of KBDI. I myself wrote to the tech department earlier this week about the signal loss, and received an email back about the problem, which, yet again is occurring right this very moment. I see below that you've told a couple other commenters "You can also check our website where we post outage information." In the past this had always been true, there was always a box or banner at the top of the main page alerting viewers to possible problems; that's why I come to the site first to check for information before rescanning and repositioning repeatedly just to discover there is nothing to be done. For at least the past year, however, I've been unable to find such announcements anywhere on your site, so am so pleased to hear I'm just missing it somehow. Please tell us all where exactly we can find such current information, so we can stop pestering you, and/or creating more work for ourselves trying to correct issues on our end that don't even exist. Thank you most sincerely for your time and attention, and as ever, for continuing to provide such quality programming; also again, when we can see.

As you are aware, we had some technical difficulties and tried to post the message on our website in a timely manner. The location for this particular technical difficulty message was on the top right side of the ‘Home’ page. I haven’t personally seen any other messages since the website changed and hopefully we don’t need to use this method to broadcast technical difficulties too often! Stopped receiving DTV signal this week

I'm in Greeley and have been receiving your digital signal clearly since the initial change-over from analog -- until this week when all 12.x channels disappeared. (I have a large roof-top antenna connected to a digital-capable flat panel TV; no external converter box). Rescanning multiple times daily hasn't helped. All 33 other digital stations I receive are clear unchanged, including rmpbs which has always had a weaker signal here than kbdi/cpt. There haven't been any changes to my antenna, cabling, or other hardware. Have you received any other indications of problems from Greeley? Any suggestions on how to get 12.x channels back? I enjoy both DANI NEWSOM and DAVID KOPEL, but separately. Dani turns into a class A witch and David into a stumbling wimp when they are together on the same show. David comes across as a gentleman trying desperately not to be discourteous and Dani comes across as real jerk! If at all possible, they should NEVER be on the same program! Both are articulate, intelligent people, but together they are AWFUL! They turn an otherwise great show into a mud slinger vs pacifist match and it isn't worth watching. I exercise my remote buttons and find anything else to watch when they are both on. Thankfully that has been a while! The "oldies" shows are another time I do not watch. They are too hoaky for words. Why you win awards for those shows is something I will never understand.

This is totally unbelievable!!! a 9 Year old with so much Talent, Humor, Warmth, charisma, etc... CPT12 - You really outdid yourself!!! Congratulations!!!

I've observed that it seems that your signal has a tendency to "go out" during or immediately after a pledge drive. Just an observation.

What happened? I'm on an antenna signal, (in Littleton), and although I have a difficult time zeroing in on your signal, with a lot of tweeking, I can eventually get you signal to come in . . . and it's worth the effort. But suddenly, I'm unable to get any of you stations to come in under any configuration! Have you hanged something? HELP! ~A Devoted Viewer.

Thanks for your e-mail. We believe the program you are referring to is Tommy Emmanuel - Center Stage. Our programming department says that it was aired was in early June. So perhaps it was a different show that you saw or maybe you saw it on another channel? I applaude you for continuing to air this Mass. I am certain that most of your supporters and sponsers take offence at this, as Christianity is most unpopular these days. However, some of your audience is pleased! It almost makes up for the pro-abortion programing that you show.

Program on death and dying in America

Within the past six months, my husband and I watched a program on one of the PBS channels on death and dying which included information on Colorado's legal requirements for DNR (Do Not Recuscitate) orders as well as a lot of other extremely valuable information on the subject of dying. Americans don't handle death well, and it's a sad commentary on our culture, we believe. After all, everybody does it. Program: Crazy Horse: Drilling and Blasting

My husband and I lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota for nearly 50 years prior to moving to Denver. Crazy Horse is a part of our "family". We have watched the mountain yield this majestic Sioux leader, first under Korczak Ziolkowski's strong and talented hand, then, (and now) under the hands-on work of his descendants and the dedicated and watchful eye of his widow, Ruth. Like the mountain, The Ziolkowskis are larger than life. Their dreams of a college on-site is becoming a reality. There is a world-class art gallery, a rodeo grounds, a museum, and - especially during the summer - performances by Native American dancers, singers and story-tellers. People are drawn to Crazy Horse by curiosity and drawn in by the powerful story and the unimaginable scale and artistry of the project. Whem we moved, my husband gifted the Memorial with his collection of Native American artifacts which he collected since childhood. Now he knows that they are in a safe place where they can be enjoyed by millions of visitors for all of the years to come. They join thousands of artifacts and art given by others. We have been following Ethan Bortnick for quite some time. He is an amazing young man with a talent far beyond his years. He is also delightful to listen to; his innocence and humor capture one's heart and emotions. Ethan is gifted and so very refreshing.

First of all, thanks KBDI for the e-mails alerting us to when EastEnders is on.....a welcome, big improvement! Secondly, I like Larry's idea of pre-empting for a full summer (maybe 2011) and then having regular episodes during the rest of the year. Kind of like the networks shows do. Would you give that some thought? Thirdly, Sandy, thanks for the youtube info. The link is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/lolatyou5 I think the 2003 episodes are near the bottom, scroll down. Just a heads up though: as soon as the BBC finds out about this youtube account, they will have youtube yank it....I've seen it happen time and time again; maybe it will stay a while, but don't get too used to it. BBC's programs are copyrighted (or whatever the British equivalent) and they don't like it when they are shown without their consent. If you see on the Internets somewhere that you can watch past episodes of EastEnders for free, please be aware that they might eventually ask for a credit card and also might have spam, trojan horses, viruses, etc. These too are not sanctioned by BBC. I would stay away from that! A question for KBDI....what are your long term plans for EastEnders? I know it's expensive, but are you planning to continue showing it? I hope so!!! If not, I could envision picketing in front of your station...many people dressed as Phil Mitchell (a real bully) and throwing jellied eels at your building. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL. Hello, My family has moved from the west side of the state of Wyoming. I use to get KUED 7, loved it. I had become very addicted to a show that came on once a week. Lark Rise to Candleford, is the best clean soap opera around.(I know it isn't a real soap.) Since moving to Cheyenne, WY., I have not been able to find it. This is killing me. Wayne Dwyer - Fundraising

I caught a portion of your fundraising today with Wayne Dwyer. He told all sorts of anecdotal stories of life changing experiences from people who followed his methods and teachings but blind statically studies or long term follow up studies were not offered or referred too. You could have had Benny Hinn offering different teachings but with the same type of results - and maybe raised more money than you did with Dwyer, who Knows! I just received the following email; Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. EastEnders will be prempted Aug 1, 6 and 15. EastEnders will be back August 22th and 29th with 2 episodes each. Joan CPT12 News Flash ... Really! This doesn't come as a shock since you just aired an episode last week after not airing for at least a month. Heres a thought ... why air it all during the summer as it never seems to happen. I say take the two or three months that you need to reair again and again the same fund raising programs and than when all is said and done ... continue with the airing of EastEnders with out interruptions of the series. This is a reply to a Ms. Susan Hall, who KBDI answered when she wrote about atrocities and lies of 9/11, how could 3 planes have done that damage to those buildings and why are good hones Arabs being held at Guantanamo Bay? To you Susan I say this, try to run down Charlie Sheen and his dad and maybe they will embrace your ramblings as sensible, no one else will. If you hate America, please get out, go to that Saudi Arabia holyland you mentioned, perhaps they too will embrace you Susan. To me and most God-fearing Americans, you are a nutcase and deserve nothing more than a swift kick in the butt on your way out of America.

I am organizing an event for Military families (clothing, food, school supplies, and toys) from August 7 to October 16, 2010. Our grand opening will be Saturday on August 7. While CPT12 and other Rocky Mountain PBS stations provide most of my family's favorite TV programming, I feel that a pro-homosexual agenda is being pushed by CPT12. I understand that public television can hardly help this as much of its funding comes from Gay & Lesbian causes. What the pro-homosexual lobby fails to understand is that some people believe that it is important to try to follow the teachings of the Bible. Nobody says that it is easy. You will never change that. No matter how many people around the world get together and talk about how 'OK' it is to be homosexual, the book and teachings that guide the lives of my family and me affirms otherwise. You just can't change that. It is with great sadness that I am close to eliminating the CPT12 channels (12.1, 12.2 & 12.3) from my TV. While CPT12 provides a lot of good and provocative programming that does not contradict the Bible, that programming which does will prevent me from ever providing support. CPT12 may try to convince as many people as it can that people who believe in the teachings of the Bible are barbarians, but it will not make it so. Sincerely, D. Phelps

This is consistent with our mission to provide diverse programming in support of freedom to speak without censorship or limitation, or both. We don’t take a particular position on any of our programming and leave freedom of thought up to the individual viewer. Not all viewers will agree with all programs. We feel we offer lots of other programs that you would find agreeable and hope you will remain a viewer/supporter.
Please tighten up the editorial control on these shows. All the extra curicular comments snf assertions unsupported by fact on the part of the interviewers. It's bad enough to have to listen to Jane norton's fascist rant about our President and his supposed Muslim sympathies. Also, the term "obamacare" used by the interviewers is a partisan, pejorative term and they kept repeating it. Please.

Right now our technical staff are consumed with IT infrastructure changes here at the station (this would have no effect on reception) and since we haven’t had a lot of complaints it may take a while to look into it. I also had looked forward to watching the show on Antarctica on Globetrekker ( not NOVA ) at 7PM on July 19th. The show on Queensland was good ( I am originally from there ) but it is very annoying to find that the very show advertised on your website has been changed by broadcast time. I ALMOST had 2 friends over to watch it since we have been to several of the islands included in the show but I've grown not to trust your station to follow thru with the promised show. I would also like to mention my annoyance over the varying decibel / sound level of your programs. Would you please ask your engineer to monitor those levels so they are the same throughout the entire program. Some of the British programming drops off and then builds again, just after you've turned up the volume to accommodate it. Thank you
Thanks for your e-mail. We definitely can understand your frustration when you expect one program and get another. In this case the program which fed off the satellite in theory should have been an episode on Antarctica but somehow the episode on Queensland was repeated. This is something that was unfortunately out of our control. Our Programming Director is trying to bring back the Antarctica episode if it is possible – check the ‘Schedule’ tab on our website at www.cpt12.org for updates.
I will letter our Technical Services and Master Control Departments know about the sound issue so they can check into it. If the sound level is changing within a given program then that is the way we get it and can’t do much to change it. If it is the sound level is changing from one program into the next program we do our best to normalize the variation. Thanks for alerting us to this and we’ll check it out.

Episodes Missing from Upcoming Schedule

Your broadcast schedule listed above shows Closer to Truth series/season four ending Monday with episode 413-Why the Cosmos?. But rather than starting with the first episode of the next/fifth series/season on Tuesday, episode 503-Wondering about God, is listed, and so on, otherwise in order through 513. Am hoping this is just some typo or easily remedied oversight, and that you will indeed be running the entire series five in order, just as you have with series three and four, starting with episodes 501-How do Human Brains Think and Feel?, and 502-Does a Fine-Tuned Universe Lead to God?. Thank you for your time and attention and for continuing to provide such thought-provoking programs.
Is there any chance you could publish a short synopsis of Eastenders for those of us who miss an episode? I know this service used to be available and it was great to be able to catch up before the next episode. I have missed several episodes recently and just wish there was a way I could get up to speed on what's going on.

I am dismayed to find right now that instead of showing the program on Antarctica which was listed in your online program guide, you are showing something about Queensland, Australia. Please show what you'd scheduled!!!!!!
You are correct. I just looked at the program which fed off the satellite that in theory should have been a episode on Antarctica. Somehow the episode on Queensland was repeated.
I will continue to sort through this on our side, but it might be out of our control. If I am able to bring back the Antarctica episode, I will do so in upcoming weeks.
I wrote the previous comment about where's Arthur? After I submitted it, I realized I made an error in my complaint about the afternoon Arthur being disrupted -- the afternoon Arthur is on PBS, channel 6 -- so, I need to redirect my comment to them. Anyway, I want to, also, update that KBDI just returned my phone call -- less than one hour after I left my message, and I had a pleasant discussion with their representative. So, thank you to KBDI and their representative. I discussed with her the following: how I greatly appreciate KBDI, Channel 12 carrying children's programs that are a step up in quality from some found on nickleodeon, etc. That my children are disappointed, when Arthur isn't on as scheduled --- and that disappointment is actually a compliment to KBDI --- from their little devoted viewers who count on their programs --- and to try to mesh fundraising programming better without disrupting the schedule ---or in the children's programming slot --- at least put on a fundraising program that is more appealing for children to watch and that will seek their parent's contributions to say thank you for the children's programming ---rather than a documentary -- not even advertised on the program guide that would be more approriately slotted in a different time period to seek fundraising dollars for that type of programming. Anyway -- enough said --- Thank you KBDI for returning my call and listening to my comments on this matter.
It's Monday morning --- 8:30am. The program guide on TV says Arthur should be on; however, some documentary is showing. I have small children who enjoy and count on watching this show --- especially when it is advertised that it will be on. This has happened before -- also, the show has been disrupted in the afternoon slot (after school time). When the show isn't on, as advertised, it brings great disappointment. We appreciate PBS carrying this show, obviously, since my children count on it. But please be more consistent or something. Don't know if anyone responds to these messages -- I also left a phone message --- felt like it was on one of those phone option trees that just feels like the place wants to avoid your call --- be interesting to see what happens to the phone message --- KBDI can pick up a phone call "live" for a fundraiser --- but can you return a call about a problem? Anyway, where is Arthur?
I contribute to your station every year because of Eastenders. Recently your station has had an endless stream of fundraisers which result in the preemption of Eastenders. Please advise me as to when this is likely to subside so that I can again watch Eastenders.
Dear Jeannine, Thank you for your e-mail and your past support. Due to the current recession, Colorado Public Television is experiencing a budget shortfall. We need to air pledge programming this summer to try and make up for that deficit. The broadcast rights to EastEnders costs us over $8000 a year and pledge programming helps us pay for that cost. Program: Raising Hope: The Story of the Equal Voices Campaign

On July 15, you aired the program " The Musical Mind". It was followed by a program whose title I didn't get but would like to. It was about people in the wake of Katrina and others who came together to create new ideas and travel to a large gathering or conference that boasted 15,000 attendants. Showcased was a woman of Mexican origin working in the states, a black father who lost everything in the hurricane but is raising his children, and a Native American man whose concern is about clean water on the reservation that he lives on. Many of them traveled to Washington to have meeting with their representatives on the initiative they developed during target gatherings with community members. I don't know if it will air again but I would be interested in knowing if its possible to get a video of the program. Thank You, Lydia Hunter

I saw him perform in Florida with my entire Family.. It was the most inspiring 90 minutes I have ever seen. The performance was sold out and there were kids from 2 years old to grandparents.. It was crazy to see a 9 year old play piano like he has done it for 50 years, sing, and most of all interact with the entire audience.. I can't wait to see him again!!!

New Channels and on-screen logo

I saw a promo mentioning new digital channels in development, referring viewers to your website for more information. I was unable to find any reference to this on the home page. Is that information also under development? Your new name and logo usage on the air slightly confused me about the station. After I read the explanation on the website, I understood. It's a nice logo, but does it need to be so 'in your face' on the screen? Could you 'gray' it out like other stations do? Thanks.

This fall Colorado Public Television is planning to launch 12.2 and 12.3 on Comcast cable and expand our coverage for over-the-air viewers in our Boulder Translator area. With the digital conversion almost complete, we hope to add other channels to the line up and expand our website to facilitate more streaming opportunities as finances permit. We have begun donating again to CPT12 again in spite of our previous pique over the bad schedule handling you have given EastEnders and the bad public relations you have inflicted on EastEnders' fans. Why have we come to regret our previous withdrawal of support? Several reasons: 1. You have done an excellent job of sending fans notifications of disruptions in the scheduling of EastEnders shows. Thank you for that. 2. Comcast is taking away many channels previously available to its basic-basic customers like us, and we'd rather give you more money than offer ourselves up as slaves to Comcast and its pitiful programming choices. So we'll watch "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" a year later on Netflix--no harm to us. 3. I remain convinced that you want to kill EastEnders. However, your other program offerings have, often by necessity because of the Comcast retreat, drawn our attention. We enjoy Democracy Now!, POV, History Detectives, etc. I have a question about 12.1, 12.2, 12.3: Is it possible to get all the offerings? A program I would like to watch is only available on 12.3. Dear Mary Ann, Thank you for your e-mail. We are glad you have discovered Democracy Now, POV and some of our other fine programming. As a result of the national conversion to digital, we are now able to offer multiple channels on the same bandwidth that carried our old analog signal.
12.1 (CPT12) is our flag ship channel. It has all the shows you have come to associate with the old analog 12. 12.2 is our CPT plus channel. It offers an expanded lineup of documentaries, children’s programming, targeted how-to shows about exercise, cooking, home improvements and travel, as well as nightly music specials 12.3 features MHz WORLDVIEW – a lineup of programs from around the world that provide diverse cultural perspectives for a globally-minded audience. Programming blocks include world news, foreign affairs, international mysteries, world music, sports, and foreign films.
Unfortunately, 12.2 and 12.3 are not currently available on Comcast. Starting this fall, 12.2, and 12.3 will be available on Comcast Extended cable in the 200 range of channels.
12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 are available free over the air with a converter box or digital tv. Colorado Public Television Response: Alex: Thank you for your e-mail. The commercial networks have advertising income to subsidize their cooking program websites and free recipes. It is a loss leader to promote interest in the host cookbooks and related merchandise. The majority of the cooking series we broadcast here at Colorado Public Television offer at least some free recipes online. It appears Cook’s Country has taken it to the next step and requires a fee. If you are interested in recipes, may I suggest checking with your local public library? Chances are they have access to the Cook’s Country Test Kitchen’s catalog of books and magazines and you can get the info for free the old fashion way. Best of luck to you. Joan CPT12

Thank you for airing this film. As a parent, and PTA member, I appreciate seeing successful programs from other areas that can spark conversation, ideas, and change for our students in Colorado.
The Principal Story is a beautiful presentation. It is about people relating to people, rather than about stupid standardized measurements of . . . nothing, really. The pompous Arnie Duncan, claiming "objective standards," as if those standards related in any way to students, and as if "objective" was somehow a word that didn't need to be defined, was DISGUSTING. In his appointment to a national post, Chicago gained, while America lost. I am delighted that the principal who was moved because she was "effective," chose instead to go another way on her own, and move to a different level. I was rooting ahead of time that she stick it to the shufflers, and resign! I just hope Chicago comes to regret her loss in some profound way. But of course . . . the fat cats on the school boards are immune. And I cannot hope that they got stuck with an incompetent in her place, because that damages the students. How do we damage the idiotic people at the top without damaging our clients even more? That is, perhaps, the biggest dilemma of American Social Darwinism Capitalism. The fat cats at the top don't suffer, no matter what happens to the clients (students and their families) at the bottom. I am impressed with what these two Principals did. I am ready to eliminate the bureaucracy above them. Hell, now that the Supreme Court has told me I should use my guns (but I don't have any) to accomplish my objectives, I should probably hope some nice, Supreme-Court-fearing gun-toter, takes out the whole "educational establishment." Trouble is . . . I'm a pacifist. . . and therefore "unAmerican."

I am interested on purchasing a CD shown on your PBS program. It was about tax or somewhat something raleted to taxation to keep the IRs away from your earned money legally. Know anything about this? It could have been channel 6 or channel 12 where I saw this program. thanks
The program you are inquiring about is America: Freedom to Fascism, a 2006 film by Aaron Russo, which alleges among a variety of claims that income tax is illegal. This documentary covers many subjects, including: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the income tax, Federal Reserve System, national ID cards (REAL ID Act), human-implanted RFID tags (Spychips), Diebold electronic voting machines, globalization, Big Brother, taser weapons abuse, and the alleged use of terrorism by government as a means to diminish the citizens' rights.

Crazy Horse Monument

My husband and I first visited the site in 1975. We fell in love with the story behind the monument and its majesty. We met the family back then who were very gracious. We stayed for hours, completely amazed at the work and the commitment. We can absolutely state the Crazy Horse monument was magnificant in its infancy stage. We have continued to watch it evolve over the years and it has been an emotional journey even for us. We can only imagine how the family feels seeing the monument come to life. Once it is complete, it needs to be the newest Wonder of the World! Ginger and Thee

You should be asking us to support your current programming, NOT to embark on such a broad expansion. WHAT are you thinking?????? Get real. Dear Mr. Thompson, Thank you for your support and sending us your comments. As the Major Gifts Manager of CPT12, I would like to address the timing of this campaign and why we have expanded our view. Channel 12 is guided by a comprehensive strategic plan framed in light of the station’s noncommercial public-service mission. The plan is reviewed and updated by the Board of Directors and the station’s Community Advisory Board. In keeping with the federal digital conversion mandate, CPT12 has been adding new digital program streams, better transmitting capacities, wider statewide cable carriage, and higher quality, award winning local productions – all with an eye to expanding viewer experience and growth. Channel 12 is still a great bargain for Colorado. Its staff is small, and its salaries and other expenses are quite modest. With our extraordinarily high level of efficiency its costs are less than $1.00 per Colorado citizen. Your gift will support our current programming, while reaching a larger audience. The goal is $398,000 – to keep us on track for the FY 2010 budget goal of $4.0 million. The stations Board and volunteers are committing to raising a total of $100,000 to the campaign, 25 percent of its initial goal. I have been shocked by your fund raising programming. Gary Null is arrogant and an insult to one's intelligence. I enjoy public television (KRMA) and we support it financially. I hold a PhD in a biologic science and I am all for providing helpful comments for a better lifestyle, but the way that Dr Null is pretending to be an expert in all scientific subjects and berating everybody in medical field is misleading and cerainly does not encourage supporting your station.
As you know, Colorado Public Television always runs a medical disclaimer around Gary Null and all health related programming encouraging people to check with their health care provider before starting any health or exercise regime; and that the information in this program is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

On June 30, 2010, at 6:30 pm you did an interview with a black gentleman (who's name I did not get) on the death of Robert Berg, the ex-KKK member who was not only a member, but recruiter for many years and was responsible for the destruction of many black families. Being a Black Man myself, it makes me sick that another black man could be interviewed on your station, praising this white supremist racist. I think this was totally a load of crap. I am appalled Channel 12 would run a show romanticizing Matadors. Is this an accepted "sport" now? By legitimizing this revolting lifestyle via a mainstream show, you are perpetuating this cowardly practice. What's next, a show on pit bull fighting?

Yes, bullfighting ,the historical, ceremonial, and cultural treatment of this animal was one of those provocative topics in the program Ella Es el Matador (She Is the Matador)… so was traditional Spanish gender roles and gender discrimination. From Kenya to Denver: Local Resident Gives in a Big Way Dr. Gene Marsh has lived in Colorado for more than four decades, teaching at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing and letting her love to serve shine. But when she retired last year, she thought "what's next?" The answer came in a volunteer project to help train nurses in Kenya. The trip was coordinated by Encore Service Corps International through a grant with Johnson & Johnson. Gene gave up six months of her life to live in Kenya and work for free at the nursing university. In Kenya it costs only $4,000 for a grad student to get their PhD, but many can't afford that - and it's even more difficult for women to gain access to higher education. So Gene used her nursing and teaching expertise to help reduce nursing limitations. She's back now and has so many stories to share...traveling to villages to collect vital data on populations who receive little to no healthcare, coming to grips with the haunting reality of domestic violence, raising money for a scholarship fund that's making PhD's possible....and sharing about how a 60-something year old woman can be mistaken for an Olympic runner when out jogging in track pants. We, too, believe Northern Exposure was a wonderful series– that is why we purchased and aired the costly program for our viewers in the past. After airing the complete series five times, our contract came to an end and we thought it was time to give it a rest. We filled that time slot with Family Ties and Twilight Zone. I will grant you, a lot of people don’t get Family Ties. It may be a generational thing - but you got to admit The Twilight Zone is a classic. We aired Wayne Dyer and Gary Null for the pledge drive last month. These programs helped us raise much needed revenues for the station. We haven’t aired Suze Orman in over a year. Bob Ross passed away in 1995 and we have aired his programs multiple times in the past. If you enjoyed The Joy of Painting, you might enjoy Painting with Paulson or Passport and Pallette. Teletubbies is in a class of its own, I will grant you that one too, but it has been out of production for since 2001. We do offer a large selection of other Children’s programming including Between the Lions, Arthur , Sesame Street and Wordworld to name just a few. Colorado Public Television’s viewers have a wide variety of tastes and interests. With the new 3 channel format we have been able to expand our programming to accommodate some of that diversity. Abraham Lincoln said, “You can’t please all the people all the time.” That is very true when it comes to Public Broadcasting. Despite the current recession and your advice, we are determined not to “give it up” or “shut it down”. UK Charity Cyclists in Denver

Hello We are two friends from the UK who are cycling Route 40 Coast to Coast from Atlantic City, NJ to San Francisco, CA. We started Friday 11th June as a three man team as featured on NBC40 (see TV link http://nbc40.net/pages/videoplayer/video.php?vid=13510 ) – we also understand some of the national Networks also picked the story up such as ABC as a friend in California saw the story. We are currently on day 23 of a planned 43 day cycle across the historic Route 40 crossing 14 states & raising money for the injured soldiers’ charity Help 4 Heroes, who treat injured servicemen returning from the war on Terror in Afghanistan. Unfortunately one of the team had to pull out on day 4 returning home after some hospital checks but the two of us are continuing & have battled through the Appalachian Mountains & are currently in Cheyenne Wells, Co, with a planned stopover at Limon tonight and a rest day staying with friends in Denver. We have no support vehicle and are carrying all the provisions with us, we have self funded the trip and raised roughly $8500 so far. We have already experienced the extreme weather with the heat, humidity & torrential rain through the Appalachian mountains and await with trepidation our trip through & over the Rockies, but knowing we have the full support of our family & friends in the UK who are keeping in touch & following our exploits through facebook, twitter & our blog site as well a conference call on our rest days is really appreciated. We have been overwhelmed with the support that we have received from the American public along the way, have found it very encouraging & it’s helped keep our spirits high. The attitude is always very positive when people find out the cause that we are supporting, which is obviously very dear to a lot of Americans. We are writing to you as we are planning on riding through Denver and stopover on our route and are hoping to raise awareness of our journey. I am a university graduate and have studied journalism in London, England. A few days ago I began revisiting the issue of the 911 investigation failure and just happened to find a clip on your 911 drive. It is fantastic to see real journalism out there, which is all about the courage and open mind to seek the truth whatever it may be and foster debate even on the touchiest subjects. The 911 fraud has been the elephant in the room for so long, this absolute no go area, so hats off to you for airing this documentary and letting the public make up their own minds. The so called mainstream media has lost my respect and trust a long, long time ago. I only read them as the government mouthpiece, from that angle. They have so utterly failed in their jobs it´s absurd.
Thank you for the superb presentation Monday on the history of 1935. What a treat to reflect on the parallels today. It would be great for teachers to be able to show this in the classrooms to invigorate discussion as opposed to reading it in a book. Congratulations. A great idea! Jo-an Barnett

I have always supported PBS both in California and Colorado and I am extremely disturbed by the corporate-agribusiness sponsorship of Heartland. I was raised on a farm in Iowa, and remember how easily some farmers could be duped by corporate agribusiness. I suppose many of those small farmers are still fooled by Monsanto posing as a corporation that appreciates old-fashioned farming. What a lie! Has anyone out there read When Corporations Rule the World? Monsanto is one of the Big Five in duplicity! I was shocked when I first watched Heartland. No, actually I couldn't believe it at first. I thought maybe I had not really been paying attention. It was easier to think that, or that I had inadvertently swithced stations. PBS, how could you support this disgusting pretense? I no longer support you. There is nothing presented on PBS that makes up for this effort to let corporations win again, hoping people will be blind to it. The Aspen Science Center is coming your way and bringing Scholars from our High School High Scholar (HS)2 Program. It is a heartwarming and inspirational story, of state and national interest, waiting to be told! On Tuesday, July 6th, our High School High Scholars will be in Boulder. Our High School High Scholar (HS)2 Program brings 45 high school students, from groups underrepresented in science and math, to the Roaring Fork Valley for 5 weeks for 3 consecutive summers. Scholars come from across the country -- from the the poorest Indian Reservation in the country, Pine Ridge in South Dakota; the Bronx; Ft. Worth; Ft. Myers; San Diego’s High Tech High; and elsewhere. Through (HS)2, our Scholars pursue their passion for science and math, experience opportunities unique to the Colorado Rockies, and prepare for college. On July 6, our Scholars will have their first collegiate experience — immersing them (most of whom will be first in their family to attend college) in the college experience while exciting them about science. Not only with our Scholars meet with Physics professors, use Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman’s pioneering clicker technology during a lecture with a Physics professor, and tour CU Boulder’s Physics labs, they will also enter the labs of other scientists-in-action at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics and the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics. One of the goals of the SHArK Project is ‘to engage and encourage young people to take an active role in solving the global energy problem.’ This is real, cutting-edge scientific research in which the students apply concepts and skills learned in chemistry class. Sometimes I watch Colorado Inside Out. The last time I watched it one of the panel members talked about people who don't believe the government's version of 9-11 as being crazy. Well I would like to say that there had been a million gov. lies including the following: Ill. tortured 29 years in prison Mr. Clements, Watergate, Native Americans at Sand Creek, Vietnamese and other situations that have turned out differently than the US gov. version of the issue or event. This channel probably received more support then at any other time when they decided to respect and honor the families of 9-11 by showing their film on this channel. Personally I think the panel member who said this owes a lot of people an apology. I am not saying the panel members have to believe or even look a the hours and hours of documentation that has been published on this issue by engineers, architects, journalists, New Yorker firman, police, ambulance, or clean up participants, military & more. Rather I am saying just respect the views, research and feelings of others. Also why have you not mentioned Canadian Mr. Aamar's case about the CIA kidnapping from JFK and then torturing him in Egypt for a yr. Canada assisted by giving them false information, but they at least apologized and paid millions of dollars. The US just denies it. What about Dr. Aafia Siddiqui whose children were probably held as hostages as was she by the CIA in Pakistan before going to trial in the US, were these circumstances were not considered and the people of Pakistan have called for her return. What about Shaker Aamer who has been cleared to leave Guantanamo since 2007 and yet is continued to be held in solitaire so he cannot be with his 8 yr. old son he has never seen. He was in the secret camp "No" at the time 3 victims of Guantanamo supposedly committed suicide together, stuffing rags down their own throats till they are damaged, beating themselves up & knocking themselves against the walls, tying their own hands and feet and then hanging themselves. This has never been investigated by an outside of Guantanamo source. What about the very people who threatened the 15 yr. old Canadian child and kept in solitaire for almost 9 yrs.Guantanamo is now going to be his judge in a military hearing. Also this note is taken from another site and is important: Al-Qaida attacked America because of US presence in holy land of Saudi Arabia, not because of Israel. This whole issue is very controversial right now in the US because in one city alone there were 52,000 signatures to reopen the 9-11 investigation because most of the world do not believe a few men could fly into THREE STEEL BEEMED TOWERS, HAVE IT FALL STRAIGHT DOWN WITH ONLY LAVA LEFT FROM THE BEAMS, FEW BODIES, AND A SPECIFIC KIND OF DUST THAT PROOFS AN EXPLOSION WAS THERE. Here I have to speak of how the US media and government should disrespect of the victims of the US. According to The Jersey widows and other families whose loved ones died in 9-11, they worked without stopping asking for the answers to questions that they themselves have said over and over President Bush would not answer & the rest of the country would not respect them enough to let them direct a legitimate investigation and get the answers they really believed needed to be answered. This campaign will probably continue by millions around this country. They were asking for much less than a war against most of the Middle East Countries. There are children and other victims that have been tortured to say they have done things that they had never heard of until the CIA wanted them to be guilty of something. Israel’s critics demand her destruction & use a double standard.

Recently, we have noticed on 12-3 that the program picture will fade in and out from time to time. This seems to be associated with station identification, since your call letters appear on the screen when this happens. When the screen fades, viewers miss that portion of the show. It is realy annoying. On Sunday night, it happened during International Mystery(a great series)and we missed a key scene. Please stop the fading. Thanks.

Hi there! SciFi channel used to broadcast a Twilight Zone marathon every 4th of July but for some reason they are not showing it this year. Very many fans are extremely upset! … because SyFy bought the rights to do this…our contract with the distributor actually prevents us from running a competing marathon….even though they chose not to air one this year. Weird, huh?
I just finished watching "Hold Me Tight..." This was heart-wrenching - I did have to turn the channel twice. My heart bleeds for these youngsters. Thank God for the wonderful staff who work so patiently with these kids. What a powerful film.

Now is a good time to change the channel number brand to the real channel , Digital 13
Why does your station "censor"/whitewash the language, blur hand gestures and blackout the tv screen when some pictures are supposed to be shown? I became very frustrated on 06/27/2010 when during the showing of Wallander the screen was blanked when in the show the pictures discovered in the laptop were shown. I understand that there are those who object to some of the things shown on television but isn't that why the remote control was invented? I enjoy your mysteries but would enjoy them more in their original uncensored version. Regards, Ricardo Grano

Aussie Rules programing mix ups

What is the problem with getting the correct thing showing for Aussie Rules on 12-3?! Wrong highlights last week. Then last week's game during halftime of this weeks game (along with annoying blackouts while someone fiddles with the channel ID settings). Now showing Monday's game instead of this weeks highlights. Please fix if you can!!!

Unfortunately since 12.3 is a pass-through for MHz Worldview we really have no control over the content of the programs that air. Occasionally, we will lose signal and go to a graphic that states something along the lines of "sorry for the interruption" and we will always return to the program as soon as technically possible.
Any complaints about the programming content (i.e. highlights from the wrong week) should be directed to MHz Worldview via their contact page:

Hello, My TV guilde reads that the Twilight Zone was suppose to come on tonight 6-24-10 at 7:00pm and 7:30pm. What happened? I was looking forward to it.
The original schedule was changed to air a pledge program, The Gipsy Kings. Unfortunately, when the decision was made to air the pledge show it didn’t give us enough time to change our listings so the TV guide was therefore inaccurate.

I had the pleasure of attending the recent John Denver Tribute Concert on 6/19 at Red Rocks. It was a wonderful evening! I particularly wish to commend the gentleman who did the ASL signing for this concert (I believe his name is John Wilkerson). King's remarks about Obama and blacks only Calhoun, of the five people, seemed to have any idea what King actually said and she didn't appear to have read his comments Raj clearly didn't know what King said and insisted on plowing ahead with inaccurate statements even after Patty tried to set the record straight bad show, whether you intended to tell the truth or deliberately didn't --- at the best you were not prepared for your subject and at the worst you deliberately slanted the program ----- not good Peter Kirwin

To who it may concern: I watched the program #101 that had brocolli soup and parmesan toast strips and several other recipes. At the end of the show it was stated that the recipes could be found on line. I had no luck in finding the recipes. There was a description of the recipe and program but no recipe could be found. I hope that you can send me the recipe. I would like to be able to copy the recipes without a lot of problems. I enjoyed the show and the recipes look inviting. Sincerely, Nan Muth

Right now our over-the-air viewers can get all three of our great channels – 12.1, 12.2, and 12.3. Unfortunately, Comcast cable does not carry 12.2 or 12.3 in the Denver metro area but has just started in the Pueblo area. This is something that we are actively working on for more coverage. DirectTV carries 12.1 and 12.3 but lists 12.3 as 12.2 (clear as mud?). DISH only carries our primary channel 12.1. It is confusing at best. Hope this helps.

There are often brief interruptions with the transmission signal of Democracy Now!, but today they were so frequent that the program was nearly unwatchable. I hope you are able to remedy the situation before it gets worse. Thanks.
Thanks for your e-mail alerting us to this issue – we had several complaints from Democracy Now fans.
We have been struggling with corrupted satellite feeds with Democracy Now for a while now. We knew that this recent episode had video issues but that the audio was largely intact. So this created a predicament for our Master Control – do we air today’s news knowing that folks can at least listen to the program or do we substitute an older program? We knowingly decided to try and keep relevant by airing the program even though it was impaired. Our Master Control has been alerted and will continue to monitor the situation to see if there is anything else we can do on our end – right now it is out of our control but as you know technology is always changing.

Your segment featuring Gary Null gave me an incentive- never to subscribe to your station! I found him antagonistic and arrogant. Why would you promote someone like this? I am a Nurse Practitioner and would love it if I could treat diseases "naturally", however few people are motivated enough to use "natural" treatment (meaning diet and exercise)alone. The risks and benfits of medications need be considered against the risks of untreated Diabetes. Also, people need to understand that natural does not necessarily equal safe. How about someone who encourages partnership with their health care provider?

I wouldn't give you guys a cent because of your naieve endorsement of quacks and charlatans like Gary Null and Dr. Dwayne Dryer make me nauseated. The same goes for your program about not paying taxes and conspiracy theorists about 911 being a controlled demolition explosion. Your endorsement and groveling to these wackos by your mouthpiece Sherry leaves you with zero credibility about providing quality television and public service to the community. When are you going to wise up and realize that these phonies hurt, not help your pledge drive begging.
Thank you for your comments. Channel 12 chooses to present programming that provokes an examination of beliefs. We do this, in part, to ensure that our civil liberties remain protected and that the government stays "of the people." We, as a station, do not claim that we hold these views. However, we do believe it’s vitally important that all views be heard in our democratic society. With the many expert opinions expressed in "9/11," we felt it important to share their viewpoint with our viewers.
We also want to air programming that is thought provoking. Since you watched our presentation of "9/11" and then decided that you disagreed with the program content, we were successful in at least getting you to think about it and respond.
We support freedom of expression that is independent from political and commercial forces, providing information to our inquisitive and discerning viewers. Thank you for being one of those inquisitive and discerning viewers.

Hi! Sophia Ayala Gettys here:) I am training to run the ING NYC Marathon... I've finished my first race on the road to NYC, the Bolder Boulder! The 10K kicked off the start to my journey but also the start to my buzz:) I'm currently sponsored by BornFit, Next Level Strength and Conditioning, GUTS Coaching, and (not yet official but in the very near future we should have a press release) Runners Roost! These amazing local companies believe in me, and I can't tell you how amazing that feels! I have gone from the pseudo confident "Anti Gym Chubby" to one of the Food Networks' "Worst Cooks in America" to the woman I am today... still not completely whole but fighting everyday to make my life what I want it to be! I'm the every woman... and I'm breaking that mold. Frequently asked Questions
Q. Why don’t you continue airing EastEnders 5 days a week?
A. KBDI-Channel 12 receives only 2 episodes each week from BBC. We had a backlog for awhile and that’s why we aired it every day. Now that we’re caught up, we will air the 2 episodes that they give us each week. BBC is the distributor and they make the decision about how many episodes are distributed to licensees.
Q. Why are your episodes years behind?
A. Our ability to broadcast EastEnders is lashed directly to the BBC’s release of episodes via satellite this side of the Atlantic. Once the BBC broadcasts an episode of EastEnders in the U.K., they wait to release episodes into the U.S. For example, the episodes now coming off of the satellite were apparently broadcast overseas years ago. Unfortunately, this is the BBC’s choice, and completely out of our control.
Q. If you were able to air 5 days a week before, why don’t you air 5 days a week now? And, why don’t you repeat episodes?
A. The BBC feeds 2 episodes almost weekly (104 per year) for our use. In exchange, we pay more than $8000.00 per year for the broadcast rights to air each episode once. Since our initial decision to carry the series on KBDI back in 1985, we had gradually fallen further and further behind the BBC’s 2 per week schedule. This created technical and thematic problems.
From a technical viewpoint, shelves and shelves were piled high with outdated and nearly extinct tapes (Do you still listen to 8 tracks and audio cassettes? Most of TV isn’t done on tape anymore either). On this almost vanished format, EastEnders queued up for their place in the schedule. From a content viewpoint, combining the BBC’s delay with ours yielded absurd references to Margaret Thatcher (in office as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom until 11/28/1990) even though Prime Minister Thatcher had not only been succeeded by John Major, but also by Tony Blair by our broadcast date.
You may recall that in September of 2007, we implemented a temporary scheduling shift to 5 times a week at midnight to attempt to catch up. Now we have caught up. You can see that this pattern is unsustainable; we simply cannot continue to play out 5 while receiving 2.
Q. Why don’t you move it to 12.2 for an even better viewing time?
A. Until cable and satellite providers carry all of our channels, only a fraction of viewers can watch the great documentary programming you mention on 12.2. A slightly larger fraction of viewers are able to enjoy the fantastic 12.3’s MHz Worldview international programming. Moving EastEnders to 12.2 would mean that 85% of our viewers could not watch the series.
Q. Why are you changing to 10 p.m. on Sunday? It’s not a good time for me.
A. It’s not possible to select a time that works for all of our viewers. If 10 p.m. on Sunday isn’t a good viewing time for you, we hope that you will be able to record the episodes for viewing at a more convenient time.
Q. My sister in Florida is getting Eastenders and it is about 2 years ahead of us...and my mom in New York is about 1 year ahead. Is Denver ever going to catch up!?!
A. With our past backlog, it’s plausible that viewers in other locations were ahead of us in the past. Since we are now caught up with PBS’ BBC feed, we now should be on the same timeframe.
Q. I’m glad you have my name as an EastEnders viewer and am curious about others you might have on a list. Have you ever thought about bringing together EastEnders viewers to an event? I would enjoy meeting other EE fans.
A. Yes, this is something we’ve thought about. Stay tuned.
My daughter usually watches Curious George in the morning at 9 but it hasn't been on this whole week. Instead it's some man ranting and raving over health and nutrition and promoting his book. Why aren't kids shows being played? Childless adults aren't up as early as us watching PBS, kids are! So play their shows!

I would like to know if anyone subscribes to "Comcast" and knows if you have a way of watching the above channels? I don't know if I have to unplug the cable ... which would give no air or does the box they provide have a switch that one may view the digital channels. Need to know this information ASAP!
Thanks for your e-mail. I subscribe to Comcast and right now in the Denver area they do not carry Channels 12.2 or 12.3. We have been working on a deal with Comcast and we hope to have something finalized with them later this year that will expand coverage. I know I can’t wait!

One year ago tomorrow I went into the hospital for quadruple heart surgery. My arteries were 80-100% plugged from a lifetime of poor eating habits. I truly was lucky to be alive and I was only 57 years old. I knew I had to make some changes. I knew somethings I could do right away to improve my lifestyle but I really needed somethinthing that I could believe in and have confiedence in. I needed something that would be a true lifestyle change and not just something I could do for 2-3 months and then fall off the wagon. On August 8th of last year (about 2 months after my surgery) I saw the program "Eating" on PBS. It made sense to me and I totally believed in the message. I ordered the dvd and the book right away. In a short period of time I was able to begin following the lifestyle and immediately I began to see wonderful results. Of course I started exercising daily and working everything together. I began to keep a very accurate eating and exercise journal and monitored my progress each and ecvery day. Well, let me cut to the bottom line. Last week I went in for my one year blood test. I got back the results and here they are. My total cholesterol now is "95". At one time it was above 250. My LDL (the bad cholesterol) was way over 100 and is now "35". That's right -- "35". My triglycerides is 93. My liver and kidney functions are excellent. I have lost 89 pounds since I left the hospital. I left weighing 254 lbs. and today I weigh 166 bls. I am well withing the BMI and back to my college playing weight 35 years ago. I am now 58 but feel like I am 35 again. I can do things I haven't been able to do in years. The doctors and hospital staff in the cardio department are completely blown away by what I have accomplished. They said "whatever I am doing, --keep it up". I see that there are some negative comments about this program but I can only speak for myself. I am not a doctor but I sure am glad to be alive and I feel I will live a long and healthy life thanks to the Rave lifestyle and diet program I have adopted for life. I want to thank Mr. Anderson for his research and for putting the program together and I want to thank KBDI Public Broadcasting for airing it. You guys have not only changed my life but given me the tools to live a long and healthy life for many years to come. Thank You. And if anyone wants to call me please feel welcome to do so. Although very interesting, the show was entirely dominated by the male guests (Dick Cavett,Walter Anderson, etc.) I waited in vain to even find out the names of the female guests. The blond female guest was barely given an opportunity to speak, and was basically talked over. Camera shots of her, when they happened, were from the side, not from the front. Obviously, nothing has changed, even in the intellectual community in terms of some kind of gender balance. Maybe women have nothing to offer, but I don't think so. To be fair, I started watching halfway through, so I can only hope the female guests spoke their piece before I tuned in. Please review the show and see what you think. I felt like it was another case of business as usual. The blond woman got to speak as the camera faded to black at the end, but it was minimal and not part of the ongoing discussion. What's the deal here, guys? Please take a look and tune in to this issue(of course, everyone there was white, but that's another aspect of this discussion).

For example: I can't find the schedule for today even only a partial schedule. May I suggest you make this feature a little more user friendly? Hello I'm 44 yeas old and I have 2 daughters and 1 son. I have invented a product that will make life easier for our young women. It is time for our young women to embrace that 'time of month' instead of being embarrassed. There are so many things that go on and go wrong with our bodies, no one tells us what's going on or how to fix it until we become women. I believe we need to start teaching our young woman early about the things that go on with our bodies to avoid long term issues. Thank you, for reading my comment Sherri

After watching Tavis Smiley say on PBS that Christians are responsible for more violence than Muslims and to equate the Columbine and post office murders with Christians, I will never again watch PBS. I will never again shop at PBS. I will never again contribute to PBS. I will never do anything at all for your benefit. In our free society, I certainly encourage Americans to exercise their rights. I can't keep up with Charlie Rose. Is the move back to 1:00pm permanent or will he also be on at 10:00pm ?
We are currently in the midst of our June pledge drive. We will return to our regular schedule next Monday, June 14. For the remainder of this pledge drive Charlie Rose will air at 1pm Tuesday thru Friday.
During our regular schedule Charlie Rose episodes premier every Monday thru Friday at 10pm with that episode repeating the following day at 1pm.

I am vary concerned of how you are covering the issues with ISRAEL edward peck is a purposley set whitness against ISRAEL and your foriener that interviewed ISRAEL is already against ISRAEL so did you forsake truth to?
Susanne, thought you might find the following titles interesting, as well, KBDI aired them both several years back, I'd like to see them run again myself. "Doing Time, Doing Vipassana" involves prisoners in India, and "Changing from Inside" is about women inmates in Washington State.
I watched as one of the guests on Colorado inside out told how 'although seniors lost their tax break, we were able to use that money to fund entitlements and have more money for rehabilitation' I think I should have a voice in where my money goes, fixed income, never in jail, never in prison, never in a 'program', never in 'rehabilitation' It seems to me the only ones who benefit from my lost tax savings are bums, including the ones promoting these bleeding-heart causes.
I enjoyed this program and the idea that men convicted of violent crimes could learn from this meditation technique how to be "at peace" with others -- sitting quietly for one hour at a time helped them understand that they can exist without hurting others. I hope to catch it again when it airs in June because I didn't get a clear idea about why they were not allowed to continue the practice in regular, organized sittings. Maybe there is no satisfactory answer?

I was channel-surfing a moment ago and found that you're showing Al Jazeera TV. I've watched various shows on KBDI for many years, enjoyed much of the great programming you air, but I am amazed that you would air this. I am disgusted, and encourage you to drop this, no matter how much they are paying for the air time.

Hopefully the strength is found in the diversity and dialogue of ideas. We don’t necessarily endorse any single viewpoint but are thrilled to be able to engage you - the viewer - in a thoughtful examination of those ideas which surface through these insightful series. We receive absolutely not one dime from any of these news sources, whether it be Al Jazeera, Israeli Broadcast News, Russia Today, or Southeast Asia Newsweekly. I hope this clarifies things.
of these "alternate theories" of 9/11 doesn't justify them, and it's an indictment of us as a society and you as a station serving the public. If the motive of your programming is actual enlightenment, as Ms. Shure of "9/11 Visibility" told your viewers, it's also specious to cite these figures, since they make nothing claimed on KBDI in their "truth" shows any more correct. To address her patronizing and off-base analogy, the proponents of a spherical instead of flat earth were qualified people, did legitimate research, didn't ignore evidence contrary to their beliefs, didn't ban everyone who disagreed with them, although they were oppressed in some societies themselves, and weren't caught repeatedly in blatant lies which they refused to acknowledge and correct. Public programming that claims to inform us has no excuse for legitimizing purveyors of demonstrably false claims and research, and as I said before, it's a sad commentary on the intelligence and judgment of KBDI that you've opted to do it. Instead of heaping adulation on Richard Gage while he glows in the light of his ill-gotten celebrity, someone should have asked him on air how he knows the collapse time for WTC 7. I doubt whether he'd ever return if questions like that had been asked of him at KBDI, and his absebce would go a long way toward furthering a public understanding in your community of the real truth about the WTC collapses on 9/11.
colleagues to demonstrate their theories about nanothermite on some steel columns and concrete samples, put it all on video, and post it on his web site. Drs. Jones and Harrit have made the ludicrous claim in their Bentham paper that it was painted on the surfaces of the columns and detonated to sever them, and despite no evidence of nanothermite-severed columns at Ground Zero, it would be a simple matter to get some of this highly explosive material, paint it on some steel columns, and detonate it to show how it works. Mr. Gage has also claimed in a letter to a US congressman that 400,000 yards, or roughly 4 times the quantity of concrete above grade in both towers combined, were turned to fine powder in seconds on 9/11. Ignoring the glaring factual error regarding the easily-calculated concrete yardage figure, there's no known way to do that without blowing up NYC and North Jersey with a nuke, but he's certainly welcome to show us how it's done on a few yards of old patio or sidewalk concrete. I've emailed this suggestion to Mr. Gage, as well as to Neils Harrit, Steven Jones, and others promoting nanothermite nonsense, and the response isn't what you'd expect from people eager to prove their assertions. I've also posted it on several web sites, and Dr. Harrit responded here, as did others: http://zelikow.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/norwegian-state-television-presents-911-truth/#comment-102 They didn't find nanothermite evidence in the WTC dust; they found an ambiguous collection of chemical substances that would ordinarily have been present in those circumstances, and reached a conclusion that they were already determined to reach. Using their methodologies, nanothermite could also have been found in a ham sandwich, and their Bentham paper isn't legitimately peer reviewed, regardless of the ill-informed or dishonest claims, including at least one on your program, that it is. Mr. Gage and others have also claimed that molten "iron" in the debris is evidence of a controlled demolition. There were reports of molten metal several months after the collapses, and temperatures well above the melting points of both aluminum and lead, both of which were abundant in and around the WTC on 9/11, were recorded in the debris fires. If this is evidence to him and others of explosives, it's never happened in any other controlled demolition before or since, and even incendiaries, which actually can melt steel but aren't used in controlled demolitions for a number of good reasons, only burn for several minutes and then cool. If nanothermite, which isn't an incendiary, despite "thermite" in its name, can keep steel molten for several months, I want to be the first in my neighborhood to put a nanothermite-fired boiler in my basement and stop buying fuel oil, so maybe he and his "engineers" can begin r&d on that one instead of promoting baseless demolition theories that have been thoroughly debunked. There was not only no evidence found in the debris to support their claims, planting explosives in any of the WTC buildings secretly would have been impossible, and there was no plausible motive for anyone they're slandering and libeling to have done it. He's also made the claim that all 47 core columns in the towers were accessible from elevator shafts, yet both collapses started above the 78th floor sky lobbies, and there were only six active elevator shafts above that level in each tower. A total of eight core columns were somewhat accessible from those six shafts, but two were severed by UA 175, making explosives on them redundant, and six more were damaged to varying degrees by the plane impacts, so the alleged explosives on them were apparently plane-proof. What's even more foolish about this claim is that the cores weren't the first parts of either tower to collapse, and 30-40 stories of core framing were still standing for 15-25 seconds after the main collapses in each tower were complete. The perimeter columns at the plane impact level failed first in both, and were all at least 65% outside the towers, and in plain sight from outside as well as within. They were also tightly clad in aluminum brake metal on the outside and covered with directly-applied lightweight plaster on the inside surfaces, so there was not only no place to hide explosives on them, the explosions couldn't possibly have gone off unseen. A few scattered puffs of air escaping when ~500,000 cubic feet of air were compressed every time a floor collapsed onto the one below it are not supersonic ejections from explosives, and 1/10" aluminum cladding being dislodged during an explosion or a collapse doesn't shield the blinding flashes that explosives, especially MICs like nanothermite, produce. The next time your "9/11 Visibility" people visit, please ask them the following questions, since they want to educate me, as one of their founders told you, and they're part of a movement that believes that WTC 7 was bombed by its owner or the FDNY, based on the following innocuous PBS quote they or their "researchers" have mangled beyond recognition: "I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and then we watched the building collapse." –Larry Silverstein (these usually get me banned immediately on 9/11 "truth" sites) -Why would Larry Silverstein have publicly admitted even to knowing that there were planted explosives in WTC 7? -What was Silverstein Properties’ and the FDNY’s motive for blowing up a perfectly good, 14 year-old building, losing hundreds of millions of dollars in cash flow from it for eight years and counting, spending ~$700 million, or most of the $861 million insurance settlement, on obligatory replacement of it, and paying ~$500 million back to lenders? (note: it was build in 1986-1987, at least 15 years after asbestos was written out of all building codes, and it had no asbestos in its SFRM or elsewhere. The first 38 floors of the North Tower were built before the code was changed, and there was some asbestos on those floors, but most had been abated during various tenant fit-outs before Silverstein was awarded the lease in 2001. The South Tower contained no asbestos.) -Why would any insurance company have paid him a dime instead of the $4.68 BILLION total he received if he publicly admitted to foreknowledge of or complicity in the alleged secret demolition of his property, but especially those based in Copenhagen, Zurich (2 of them), and London? -How did he or the FDNY know that flaming debris from a taller collapsing hi-rise across the street would hit WTC 7, start multi-story fires in it, and break the water main to it, disabling the sprinklers and providing a cover story for the demolition? -If the alleged explosives were pre-planted, which would have taken weeks or even months in a vacant building and been completely impossible to do secretly in an occupied one, and Barry Jennings heard some of them go off around 10 AM, why was there any discussion at all in mid-afternoon about whether or not to demolish WTC 7 with the other apparently fireproof explosives a few stories higher? -Do controlled demolitions take seven or eight hours to collapse a building? -Do they leave no severed columns with copper residue on the ends, or any other evidence in the debris? -Do they leave ~12 stories on one corner standing? -Is the FDNY in the controlled demolition business? What other buildings, on fire or not, have they demolished before or since 9/11? -Please link me to a C/D contractor’s web site, and show me the use of “pull” or “pull it” to refer to building demolition using explosives, not one in which cables are used to pull an already damaged building over, as was done with WTC 6. -How does a “terrible loss of life” in the WTC towers affect a later decision to demolish a nearby building with no one in it? -There was a pre-existing ConEd substation at the Vesey Street WTC 7 site in 1986, and the building was designed to straddle it, requiring some of the extremely long (~50?) girder and beam spans inside that contributed to the 9/11 collapse. It was powered up and in full use on 9/11/01, and the demolition of a 200,000 ton, 47-story building directly on top of it probably didn’t do it much good. Do you know whether ConEd’s insurers just absorbed the loss of tens of millions of dollars in infrastructure damage and restoration and then subrogated Industrial Risk Insurers, since Larry Silverstein’s firm was still the responsible party? An unintended moment of levity occurred on one station break during your show about Richard Gage when a self-professed former skeptic and newly-minted believer gushed that few have ever heard about the collapse of WTC 7, which is certainly true, but clearly an argument against his, Mr. Gage's, and the 9/11 "truth movement's" own interests. It came down at 5:21 PM, after flaming debris from the North Tower's 10:28 AM collapse started multi-story fires in the lower floors that burned uncontrolled for more than six hours, and long before that, four large US airliners had been hijacked and destroyed, two iconic buildings in NYC had already collapsed, the Pentagon had been badly damaged and was still smoking, and nearly 3000 people here were already dead, murdered by Islamic terrorists. Within days, there was an almost unanimous congressional resolution to retaliate against al Qaeda for the 9/11 attacks and to invade Afghanistan to do it, and it certainly didn't hinge on the much later collapse of one relatively (and admittedly) obscure building in NYC that wasn't even on the terrorists' agenda, so there obviously was no plausible motive for this allegedly planned demolition. In response to Joan's recent comments regarding my "9/11 'truth'" post: "9/11 Press for Truth" and "In Their Own Words" are the least objectionable of the productions touted on your program, and actually offer a useful and somewhat accurate hypothesis concerning the limited scope of the 9/11 Commission Report, but both are replete with quote mining, innuendo, statements with no timeline or context, armchair quarterbacking, and 20/20 hindsight, heavily dependent on the emotion-filled statements of victims' close relatives, and mostly critical of the very obvious intelligence failures that made the 9/11 terror attack more likely to succeed. Whatever anyone thinks of the Report, the members of the Commission, or the selection process that formed it, there were no conclusions by them or any other reputable source that 9/11 was carried out by anyone other than al Qaeda terrorists, that they had or even needed any inside help to hijack four airliners and crash them, that the flying object that hit the Pentagon could possibly have been anything other than American Flight 77, that the hole in Shanksville contained something other than what was left of United Flight 93, or that the WTC was somehow secretly bombed with fireproof, plane-proof, redundant, flash- and bang-free explosives planted for some incoherent reason to go off in the midst of raging infernos. By opening the door to charlatans and liars like Jason Bermas, Richard Gage, David Ray Griffin, and the others behind the quasi-scientific and pseudo-historic DVDs, books, and other malarkey your station is handing out to donors of $150 or $200, you're putting fantasy on an equal footing with the NIST investigations and the legitimate findings of the 9/11 Commission. I'm supportive of the First Amendment too, but I suggest that you take a closer look at some of the claims being made by members of the 9/11 "truth movement." Your "Press for Truth" documentary presentation paves the way for legitimizing slander and libel against Larry Silverstein and a host of US government officials, many of whom I don't personally support, but they had as much to do with the al Qaeda attacks on 9/11 as you or I did. It's also led to the airing of junk science, dishonesty, and manifestations of an egregious lack of knowledge, logic and common sense. Robert McIlvaine has my profound sympathy, and seems to be a sincere and very likeable man, but you only presented one side of him on your show. There is not only no evidence supporting that claim, it would have been literally impossible to do secretly, and there was no motive for destroying a 14 year-old, almost fully-occupied building, losing all cash flow from it for more than eight years, and collecting insurance money that barely paid to rebuild it. If your station is doing this to defend the freedom of speech of organizations or individuals with these beliefs, you might want to consider the plight of Holocaust deniers and White supremacist groups in the mainstream media also. If it's an acquiescence to popularity, look at the revenues being enjoyed by the Internet porn industry, another "under-represented interest" in KBDI airings. The 9/11 "truth movement" doesn't want a new investigation into the tower collapses; they want one that says what they want it to say, and that's impossible to achieve by selecting engineers, scientists, and other experts for it if they have the legitimate qualifications that the NIST people do. The faked plane allegations by these profiteering frauds and anyone gullible and ignorant enough to believe are despicably absurd, and can easily be disproved by interviewing some of the thousands of eyewitnesses who saw the wreckage of AA 77 and UA 93, exactly where ATC tracked them, where the NTSB and airlines investigated the crashes, and where all of the victims except a small infant on AA 77 were matched through forensic analysis, as were some of the hijackers. The recurrent claim that NORAD "stood down" has been thoroughly debunked with timelines for the hijackings and crashes and with an explanation of our air defense priorities and capabilities on 9/11. NORAD relied on FCC notification for airliner hijackings, and ATC was simply unable to provide it in a timely manner. They and the NORAD pilots weren't in a conspiracy to kill nearly 3000 innocent people; they did what they've done in every other case of domestic hijacking, and none has ever resulted in the shooting down of planes with passengers aboard. Payne Stewart's Learjet took one hour and 19 minutes to reach with a fighter plane, and unlike the hijacked planes on 9/11, it was roughly on course instead of backtracking, and had its transponder on. Popular Mechanics has done a complete review of all of the information surrounding this claim, as could the people who are making it, but they won't, and are content to dismiss the facts and add the reporters of them to the legions of imaginary 9/11 conspirators. The fact that one junior staff member at Popular Mechanics had the same last name as Michael Chertoff, the first head of Homeland Security, is a smoking gun to these "truth seekers," despite the fact that the two men don't know each other, and Benjamin Chertoff was one of nearly 30 PM staffers who contributed to their book and articles addressing 9/11 conspiracy theories. Your show prompted the following thread on a 9/11 "truth movement" site: letsrollforums.com/major-9-11-truth-t20779.html If my very polite and on-topic comments there weren't removed by the site administrator after he banned me from even reading his site for no legitimate reason other than disagreeing with him and presenting corroborating information, you might be interested in looking at the opinions expressed there. One of the "forums" on the site is devoted to researching, as its creator calls it, the backgrounds of all 246 innocent passengers and crew on the four hijacked planes and those of the nineteen men named by the FBI as hijackers, and determining which of them are "fraudulent victims" or "simulated victims." In order to comment in that venue, you must already "know that 9/11 was an inside job," according to the forum rules, or the administrator will ban you from posting. This is not an anomaly, and I've been banned from more than a dozen Internet farces like that one simply for disagreeing with the people there, or in some cases, just for posting questions that challenge their claims. They almost never stay on topic and address issues, usually become extremely abusive, and some have even threatened my life, just for posting facts. If your "Visibility" group wants a new investigation, will they also want to ban everyone who sees no evidence of a controlled demolition at the WTC on 9/11? They could start by banning the entire ASCE, with the exception of a tiny minority of its membership. You've also hosted Richard Gage, who can't go one minute into a presentation or even a discussion about 9/11 without lying about something or exposing his ignorance, which is why he rarely if ever appears on air with people who will challenge him. It's a simple matter using only the timers on various collapse videos to determine that neither tower fell in anything close to 9.22 seconds, the approximate free-fall time from 1368', not allowing for the debris pile height, and even without looking at the timers, it's obvious from observing the rate of fall of the airborne debris that the collapse zones of both towers aren't even nearly free falling, which is one of Mr. Gage's basic assertions, usually to begin his presentations. The first pieces of loose debris, which are almost certainly from the collapse initiation areas and actually are free falling, are seen hitting the ground while the buildings still have fifty or more floors intact. To make it even more blatantly absurd, everything above grade would have to have started falling at the same time, considering inertia and other factors, for near free fall to have occurred, and if his altered version of the collapse times is proof of a controlled demolition, in which large numbers of columns are cut with explosives, there would have been numerous columns pulled from the debris with cutter charge signatures on their ends, yet not even one was photographed, reported or even rumored. Since he's obviously obsessed with collapse times, it's highly suspect that he claims to know the time it took WTC 7's upper facade, whose path represented only a small portion of the entire collapse process, to fall all the way down, when NIST doesn't know it, yet he's repeatedly stated a fairly exact collapse time. NIST used footage from "Camera 3," positioned north of the building, and it only showed the top 18 floors, or ~242' of the collapse of a 610' building. They determined that the time from the beginning of the facade collapse until the main roof dropped from view behind buildings in the foreground was ~40% longer than the ~3.9 seconds that a 242' free fall from rest would have taken, so Mr. Gage is obviously just making up his own facts. He's also made claims about the severity of the fires, especially in WTC 7, that totally contradict the eyewitness testimony of almost every FDNY and other observer at the scene that afternoon. Multi-story office fires don't generally self-extinguish in a few hours, especially with no water pressure to sprinklers and fire hoses, unless someone like Richard Gage is telling the story. Program On Soil / Dirt! The Movie on Independent Lens Earlier this week I attempted to post the following suggestion and links, I received email about the other comment I made that day and it appeared here, but neither occurred for this one. I really think this may be the program the viewer is looking for, and only hoped to be of help. It ran on Independent Lens not too long ago, the title is "Dirt! The Movie". I am a disable veteran of the first gulf war and a graduate student at CSU for my master's in Social Work. My hopes is to help with returning vets and their families. I can say I have been there done that but it only speaks of my experience and not that of another prespective. I wish I could in some way have a copy of this program, I would be willing to buy it. Last month you aired (not sure which program) what looked like a livingroom recording session of a rock band with a female lead singer. They were amazing. Are you going to be televising "Telling Amy's Story" a domestic violence documentary, created by Penn State Public Broadcasting, chronicles the time leading up to the death of Amy Homan McGee, a mother of two who was shot and killed by her husband. I checked your evening schedule for June and didn't see it.

Lizard King vs. Petty Tyrant

My husband and I only discovered the program a few weeks ago. It is always interesting BUT tonight's show (May 21)was marvelous. The asides, the back and forth of the personalities, the quick quips and facial expressions were just plain fun to watch. The salt was showing and we enjoyed it. Thanks
The DEPARTMENT OF STATE is proposing to amend 22 CFR Part 62 (RIN 1400-AC56) regarding who can host a high school foreign exchange student coming to the United States. Section 6 of this proposed rule change specifically excludes single adults without school aged children from sponsoring a foreign exchange student. This is what is stated in the proposed rule change: "The Department does not define what constitutes a family; however, we take administrative notice that a family is considered to be more than one person.... NO SINGLE ADULTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO HOST SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS." I am a single female physician, retired Air Force colonel who sponsored 4 foreign exchange students between 2001 and 2008 without problem. As of the 2011-12 school year I would no longer be able to serve as a host parent if this rule is adopted in its entirety. I have organized an e-mail campaign to provide comments to the State Department on this proposed rule change. The American Field Service, with which I am affiliated but for whom I am not an official spokesperson, is the largest student exchange organization in the world. They are also requesting their membership to respond to two specific aspects of this proposed rule change: the prohibition of single parent placements and the requirement for finger printing of all family members. Specifically my basis for challenging the proposed change in Section 6, preventing single adults from hosting a high school student, is as follows: 1) Nowhere in the proposed policy is there documentation that single parents without school aged children have provided a more dangerous or inferior host experience for high school foreign exchange students. Large exchange organizations I have queried are not aware of any pervasive problems with single parent placements. 2) The statement that the Department of State "takes administrative notice that a family is considered to be more than one person" is offensive and retrogressive in 2010 when families come in all shapes and sizes. Currently there are at least 75 million US residents over the age of 18 who are single and without children. Singles are permitted to adopt and become foster parents. More than a few of these individuals have a strong heart-felt desire and capacity to be excellent host parents. Some of them have been foreign exchange students themselves. Many of them have successfully hosted high school exchange students in the past. No doubt some of these singles are professionals who have more time and resources than their married or single counterparts who have children to offer foreign exchange students, providing them an enhanced experience in the US. Additionally, many of these individuals have strong extended families and networks of friends and neighbors that are every bit as integral and central to their lives as "live in" family members are to others. Additionally, we all have heard of some high profile abuse situations in nuclear families. 3) The Department of State notes: "The success of the Secondary School Student program is dependent on the generosity of the American families who support this program by welcoming foreign students into their homes. The number of qualified foreign students desiring to come to the United States for a year of high school continues to rise and student demand is now placing pressure on the ability of sponsors to identify available and appropriate host family homes. The Department desires to provide the means to permit as many exchange students into the United States as possible so long as we can ensure their safety and welfare, which is our highest priority." Given the increasing demand, how does it make sense to exclude an enthusiastic pool of potential host parents when during the current economic downturn, host families are harder to find. This policy will only reduce the availability of suitable homes. Having been an exchange student myself, I find section 6 of the proposed rule change misguided, as does American Field Service (AFS). Those of us who have been exchange students want to share the experience that so influenced our lives with other young people. I will be sponsoring a Norwegian exchange student during the coming year, but if this rule passes as it stands, that will be the last year I will be able to do so. I think this proposal is a dangerous precedent and puts us further along the slippery slope of excluding non-traditional families from fully participating in society and potentially stereotypes all singles interested in parenting as sexual perverts or abusers. I also strongly resent the implication that single professionals cannot provide a quality exchange experience equal to that of any other family. Of course, like Vietnam-era vets (I too paid my dues) the current wave of war-damaged youth is clearly tragic. But more tragic is the laughable way our gov. has chosen to engage in fruitless wars under the pseudopatriotic homilies ("better there than here", "WMDs (now recognized as 'words of mass deception')", "Freedom isn't free", etc. -- this bumper-sticker jingoism along the more insightful "Operation Iraqi Liberation" (or O.I.L.!) has too long been a tenuous rationalization for 8 years of fruitless conflict. Only the American revolution was longer. But this generation has (and our gov. counts on us having) forgotten Dwight Eisenhower's admonition to beware of vesting too much power in our military and its lapdog industrial allies. The price is another physically and psychically damaged generation. When even our Sec. of Defense Baker tells congress to stop throwing money at him, where are our priorities?? Those who do not profit by are doomed...etc. JS

Albury Smith’s April 17 comment provides an excellent example of denial and projection, full of fallacies and insults rather than logical responses to specific factual evidence that has been broadcast many times by KBDI, thanks to the courage and genuine patriotism of its board of directors and programming staff. Smith apparently doesn’t know that John Farmer, the general counsel of the 9/11 Commission, has also almost (in Smith's words) "totally rejected" the Commission’s report. Quoting Farmer, Haynes Johnson states, "what government and military officials told Congress, the 9/11 Commission on which he served, the media, and the public 'was almost entirely, and inexplicably, untrue.'" (http://www.amazon.com/Ground-Truth-Untold-America-Attack/dp/1594488940) The two co-chairs of the Commission, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, wrote in their book Without Precedent that they were "set up to fail." They also said that they were lied to by top military officers, and considered referring them for criminal prosecution for obstructing the investigation. That consideration went nowhere, despite being widely reported for a few days in the US national media. The evidence of controlled demolition that Smith refuses to acknowledge includes virtually every feature of the destruction of both the Twin Towers and WTC 7 -– features which NIST explicitly excluded from consideration in its supposedly scientific report. That report and the effort behind it were detailed enough to model every fan blade in the jetliners' engines, yet excluded the behavior of the Twin Towers after the "collapses" started. Network television videos widely available on the Internet show that a large fraction of the towers' material was ejected outside the towers' own footprints at every stage of the destruction after the first two seconds. That material was therefore obviously unable to crush the rest of the structure, violating an explicit assumption of the "collapse" model published by Zdenek Bazant and Yong Zhou published in an equation-rich 10-page paper just *two days after the 9/11 attacks* (http://911research.wtc7.net/disinfo/experts/articles/bazant_jem/bazant_zhou.html), and relied on without further analysis by NIST. Contrary to Smith's characterization of prominent 9/11 skeptics, it is Bazant and Zhao, along with top NIST engineers Shyam Sunder and John Gross, who deserve the label “charlatan.” I would welcome a defamation lawsuit from them in response to this statement. That no such lawsuit has been forthcoming against anyone in the 9/11 Truth movement should tell Smith something. Some members of the 9/11 Truth movement have warned other members against relying on questionable interpretations of people's statements, such as Larry Silverstein’s infamous "pull it" remark, in contrast to documentary/physical evidence. Smith focuses on such second- or third-level evidence as the "pull it" remark at the expense of the basic physical facts of what happened. Those key facts are completely incompatible with the official story. WTC 7 came down at virtually freefall acceleration for more than two seconds, as explicitly acknowledged by NIST in a change of course apparently forced upon them by physics instructor David Chandler. This cannot have happened without explosives to destroy the support columns, as there is no energy left over to do that work. Yet their acknowledgment had no effect on their idiotic conclusion that the failure of a single column, due to fire alone, brought that modern 47-story skyscraper right down into its footprint, in precisely the manner of a controlled demolition. Neither Smith nor NIST's engineers can be bothered with the facts; their minds are made up. Thank goodness six out of seven of KBDI's viewers are different.

Re comments by Denise B... This is a very strange comment made by a very strange person. How is not being aware of what a host make me a liar?? I live in Los Angeles and I'm not even aware of when Eating is aired. Sheesh! Get a life.
The actual Eating DVD may not have stated the "life expectancy of something in the 50's for children born after the year 2000" HOWEVER one of the hosts named Shari Bernson DID STATE that children born after 2000 are expected to live to 53! It wasn't another program, so get it straight. I agree with eating healthier i.e. organic and plant based products, but Mike, don't be like the people your trying to prove your case against by lying too. If you didn't for some reason hear Shari, fine, but you'd think with all this research you've done over the years you'd take a fraction of the time to make sure that statement wasn't made while airing YOUR DVD before flat out denying it!!!! p.s. With 5 seconds of my time I was able to find Shari's name to make sure it was spelled correctly & her title as Director of Membership: http://www.kbdi.org/about_kbdi/management_boards.cfm See what a little extra time can do...

I understand that PBS has to air fundraisers. I have self organized large fundraisers myself. I think our local PBS would find more contributors if you would put EastEnders back on nightly. I would be willing to contribute if that was offered. If you have to cancel due to fund-raising, at least fans would have 3 or 4 other nights to watch! I know that is what you did before and it upset people, but I think you must have more complaints now that you only air it on Sundays. When that gets canceled, it pisses more viewers off that much more.... It is because we are already 5 years behind, seeing two episodes, once every two weeks is pushing us further behind. I think you would find people will be willing to contribute more if you put EE back on late night M-F and air fundraisers during the time people are most likely to watch them (6-10pm). It has an extremely loyal but small following and no direct community underwriting sponsorship. The BBC is the distributor of EastEnders and they make the decision about how many episodes are distributed to licensees. We have many EastEnders fans such as yourself, who would love to go back to 5 episodes a week; however this is no longer possible. We only receive two episodes a week from the BBC. We had a backlog of episodes for awhile and that’s why we were able to air it every day. Now that we’ve caught up, two episodes is it. I hope this helps explains the situation.
