Slavery and the slave trade was a common thing for a long time. The Atlantic slave trade lasted three centuries and affected 11 millions of people. Now, what we forget today, and what has often been erased from collective memory, is that that trade was preceded and followed by another less known trade: the Oriental slave trade, perpetrated by Arab Muslims.
