Monday, I was ready for Tavis Smiley to follow Amy Goodman. Instead there was ???!!!!????#. I too used to love Upstairs Downstairs back in 1974, but what was this?!# Is It going to be something at a regular time slot displacing Tavis or fund a fund raiser test pilot? I'll wait to see I guess. Please excuse me, I hear an opera playing on my RCA. Thanks, John Roehling Its Puccinni

Program: Tavis Smiley
Just wanted you to know that this white girl in Littleton, CO looks forward to your show everyday. You have the most interesting interviews and updates on what is happening politically. You are great! Thank you! Kitty
Ladies and Gentlemen; I had written before about Tavis Smiley's objectional comments. Joan was kind enough to respond to my comment and salve my anger toward PBS. I am writing again because I hope to make clear my disgust with PBS. You fired Juan Williams, who made a comment on another network. Tavis Smiley is still employed with PBS. He has said much worse on your network. You hypocrites. Sincerely, John E. Philibert
CPT12 Response: Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate that you took the time to register your concern.
You may want to direct your comments concerning Tavis Smiley to the PBS Omnibudsman, Michael Getler. As ombudsman, Mr. Getler serves as an independent internal critic within PBS, receiving and dealing with commentary and criticism from viewers and seeking to ensure that PBS upholds its own standards of editorial integrity.
You can contact Mr. Getler at: http://www.pbs.org/ombudsman/feedback.html
PS. Actually, Juan Williams was fired by NPR (National Public Radio), not PBS (the Public Broadcasting Service) which is the television branch of Public broadcasting. They are two separate organizations.
