KBDI’s Digital Signals are Available to Over-the-Air Digital (12.1), Comcast, DirecTV, and DISH Viewers
DENVER – January 9, 2009 – The KBDI analog transmission line has incurred a serious break, requiring KBDI to turn off its analog transmitter during repairs. The complexity of the repair is compounded by work that also is required for the station’s conversion to digital transmission. The analog transmission repair may not be complete until January 16.
Digital over-the-air (DT-12.1) viewers and Comcast Cable, DirecTV, and DISH customers are not affected by the outage.
KBDI is encouraging those viewers receiving Channel 12’s analog service over the air to hook up digital converter boxes now – rather than waiting until February 17 when all broadcast stations make the switch to digital transmission.
Viewers with over-the-air digital reception are able to view the station’s three digital signals – the flagship station (DT-12.1) plus The Documentary Channel (DT-12.2) and MHz Worldview (DT-12.3).
