Sequel to Cult Classic 'Okie Noodling' will Air KBDI-12

DENVER – June 25, 2009 – A new version of the cult classic Okie Noodling will air Monday, June 29 at 9 p.m. on KBDI-12, Colorado Public Television PBS.

The program will repeat Sunday, July 5 at 7 p.m.

In the original 2002 film, Bradley Beesley brought the strange subculture of bare-handed catfishing to the screen.  In Okie Noodling II, he returns to his home state of Oklahoma to see how the sport has evolved over the last decade.

While revisiting the colorful, original cast and meeting some new and eccentric fishermen en route to the largest noodling tournament in the nation, the film explores the legalization issues and commercialization of this once backwoods practice.

A full schedule of KBDI-12 programming can be found at www.KBDI.org.
