DENVER – June 30, 2009 – More than 1,000 young people ages 18-24 are homeless on the streets of Denver every night. Studio 12 Host Tamara Banks will explore the challenges and needs of the young – which are different from the needs of the chronic adult homeless population – in the Wednesday, July 8 edition of Studio 12 at 8 p.m. on KBDI-12. Viewers will hear the realities of youth homelessness from young people who have lived it first hand. As always, live viewer phone calls will be an important part of the conversation. The causes and solutions will be discussed by panelists from organizations that are doing their part to address the crisis: Robert Ham, marketing and media director of Urban Peak; Andrew McClure, youth outreach director of Urban Peak; SheHila Rae Stephens, resource case manager of Volunteers of America; and Catherine O’Neill Thorn, executive director of Arts from Ashes. The episode of Studio 12 also will be available for viewing via the on-demand feature of www.KBDI.org after July 9. ### Marcia Simmons
