Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train, Martha Speaks and Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies will premier on KBDI-12 and Angelina Ballerina will return to the channel after a two-year hiatus. “KBDI-12 is Colorado’s home of great PBS Saturday morning programs for children,” said Brad Haug, KBDI-12’s director of programming. “The lineup includes some of the strongest shows nationally in children’s primetime viewing hours,” Haug said. Sid the Science Kid is a new educational animated television series produced by the Jim Henson Company, using comedy to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among preschoolers. This new series will air weekdays at 8 a.m. Dinosaur Train, a new animated series, also from the Jim Henson Company, explores natural history, natural science, and paleontology through the eyes of Buddy, a preschool-aged Tyrannosaurus Rex. Martha Speaks has been designed and proven to enrich the vocabulary of 4- to 7-year-olds and will air on KBDI-12 Saturdays at 8 a.m. Another animated series, Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies, will look at the natural world from a preschooler’s point of view. It introduces preschoolers to a fascinating world filled with loveable characters and stunning wildlife movies from National Geographic. This new series will air Sundays at 8:30 a.m. Angelina Ballerina tells the story of a little mouse who dreams of becoming a ballerina. This series is based off the wildly successful books by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig.
