Release Date: 09/18/09
Author: A Burger, C Watson, H Dalton
DENVER – September 16, 2009 – Channel 12 viewers are about to see Colorado from a completely new angle.
On Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 p.m. KBDI will air the 30-minute pilot episode of Out of Order, a quarterly magazine-format television show that will cover the Front Range from all angles with an eclectic mix of profiles, commentaries and offbeat features.
Created by award-winning Channel 12 producers, Out of Order will offer a platform to those that might not have a voice within the mainstream.
Designed to appeal to diverse audiences, the program’s fast-paced approach offers viewers a dynamic collection of segments.
In the pilot episode, the Out of Order team features:
- Dick and Lois Meis, local legendary country musicians who have been playing music together since the early 1950s, playing with legends such as Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Out of Order looks at their history as musicians and as a married couple playing over a lifetime.
- An art segment features Rex Ray and his exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
- The producers’ visit to a Laughter Yoga class; a hybrid mix of yoga and forced laughter. The adults get wilder than a bunch of third graders. Is laughter really the best medicine?.
- Christine Bakke, who shares her experience with Gay Rehab, a formal attempt to “reprogram” persons through reparative therapy..
- A segment on the world of news and how it has changed with the recent increase in technology and blog-based news sources.
- Out of Order looks at the Youth Homeless issue in Denver and the organizations that are stepping up to help.
- A full schedule of Channel 12 programming can be found at www.KBDI.org.
