Colorado Native and Contemporary Artist Rex Ray Will be Subject of Channel 12 Documentary
DENVER – (November 20, 2009) – Colorado Public Television will provide viewers the opportunity to take a journey inside the mind of a contemporary artist when it airs Rex Ray: How To Make Rex Ray on Channel 12.1 on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at 7 p.m.
The documentary, produced and directed by Denver’s Joshua Hassel, will air on the closing day of artist Rex Ray’s solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Denver.
A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, Ray established himself as a premier graphic designer by designing rock and roll posters, book covers and CD packages. His fine art has become increasingly collectible and has been featured at many museums and galleries, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the University Art Museum at Berkeley and the Gotham in London. His solo exhibition at Denver’s MCA opened in 2009.
