DENVER – (December 2, 2009) – Channel 12 is giving Twilight Zone fans an early holiday gift! The station will air a six-episode marathon of the popular cult classic series Thursday, Dec. 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. on Colorado Public Television’s Channel 12.1. Then, starting Thursday, Dec. 17, two episodes of the popular cult classic series will air weekly at 7 and 7:30 p.m. The marathon will include six episodes: Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (William Shatner), Living Doll (Telly Savalas), Time Enough to Last and Obsolete Man (Burgess Meredith), Midnight Sun (Lois Nettleton) and The Invaders (Agnes Moorehead). The Twilight Zone, an anthology series created and written by host Rod Serling, originally ran for five seasons from 1959 to 1964. The show combines elements of science fiction, fantasy and horror to tell stories of people who suddenly found themselves in odd and supernatural situations. Every episode contains an underlying, unique message that represents one or more of society and humanity’s ills, inequalities and social injustices. Almost every episode wraps up with an unexpected twist, leaving viewers guessing until the end. The Twilight Zone won two Emmys, a Golden Globe and several other awards. The original series features many familiar faces: Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Carol Burnett, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin, Peter Falk and Bill Mumy, just to name a few.
