If you’ve said that more than once – and also seeking inspiration for the new year, Colorado Public Television definitely has you covered on Saturday, Jan. 2 when a back-to-back lineup of inspiring documentaries will air starting at 2:30 p.m. on Channel 12-1. In the Footsteps of Marco Polo captures the two-year, 25,000-mile attempt to retrace Marco Polo’s trek from Venice to China. 2:30 p.m.; 1 a.m. Women of Tibet: Gyalyunm Chemo – The Great Mother celebrates the spiritual power and selfless acts of motherhood. 4 p.m. Visioning Tibet chronicles the passion of the founder of the Tibet Vision Project. The dream: to eradicate blindness in the in the country with the highest incidence of untreated cataract blindness. 5 p.m. Women of Tibet: A Quiet Revolution is the Emmy award-winning film documenting the 15,000 unarmed Tibetan women who took to the streets to oppose the violent occupation of their country in 1959 by the Communist Chinese army. 6 p.m. Rumi Returning examines the life and writings of the highly respected 13th century mystic.7 p.m. Sound of the Soul takes viewers to the international world music festival in Fez, Morocco. 8 p.m.; 12 a.m. As We Forgive is the journey of two Rwandan women who want to make peace with neighbors that slaughtered their families. 9 p.m. Swimming in Aushwitz is the documentary of six women imprisoned in a concentration camp. 10 p.m. Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story chronicles the inspiring life of a congenital amputee who has met life’s challenges without arms and legs. 11 p.m. A full schedule of air times for all Channel 12 programs can be found at www.KBDI.org. |
