DENVER – March 10, 2010 – A new program lineup – filled with documentaries, exercise programs, nightly music programs and more – will begin airing March 22 on Colorado Public Television’s Channel 12.2. The new programming fare will replace the Documentary Channel, a network that has changed to commercial status and is no longer appropriate fare for public television. Program Director Brad Haug is creating a totally new channel with a mix of programming that is responsive to viewer requests. Some of the highlights: -- Music every night of the week from 10 p.m. until midnight. – Woodsongs, Legends & Lyrics, Live from the Artist Den, Jammin’ at Hippie Jack’s, Sun Studio Sessions and more. -- An evening filled with entertainment every Saturday night from 7 p.m. to midnight. -- An expanded block of exercise programs from 8 to 11 a.m. every morning, cooking shows over the noon hour and children’s fare from 1 to 5 p.m. weekday afternoons. -- Weekday prime time features the best of independently produced documentaries. -- Saturdays include home and garden, travel, and cooking followed by the full evening of entertainment. -- Sundays begin with exercise and health shows followed by local, national and international public affairs programs until 4 p.m. The evening is filled with documentaries, theatre and the arts. Colorado Public Television’s Channel 12.2 is available to viewers with over-the-air reception. Channel 12.3 (MHz Worldview) is available to over-the-air viewers and DirecTV subscribers.
