Arizona’s New Integration Law: Implications for Colorado?

DENVER – (May 1, 2010) – Tamara Banks, local journalist and Channel 12 host, will lead an informed panel in discussion of the Arizona’s immigration law (SB 1070) on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.
What are Arizona’s leaders hoping to accomplish now without the help of the federal government, and what were the crisis dynamics that led to the legislation – from the issue of non tolerance of racial discrimination and the potential for racial profiling to new security concerns, what are the implications for Colorado? Law enforcement, the future of our governorship and similar potential legislation are three areas the panel will address. Julien Ross, Director of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, Helen Kreible, author and immigration activist and Lou Vallario, Sheriff of Garfield County will be participants.
