Distracted Driving Continues to Threaten

DENVER – (May 14, 2010) – Over 25% of all car crashes involve drivers who are either texting or talking on their cell phone.
Studio 12 host Steffan Tubbs discusses the growing epidemic of distracted driving with experts and families who have lost loved ones. Once you hear the startling data and meet the families who have suffered loss from such careless acts, you’ll be convinced to change your habits behind the wheel.
Guests Ray La Hood, Secretary of Transportation Shelley Forney, Director of Focus Driven and parent whose daughter was killed by a distracted driver, David Teater, Senior Director of the National Safety Council and parent whose son was killed by a distracted driver, and Sgt. John Hahn, Colorado State Patrol will discuss their thoughts Wednesday, May 19 at 8 p.m. on Channel 12.1.
