“2012: The True Mayan Prophecy,” is it the end of the World?
Denver, CO – Colorado Public Television will air “2012: The True Mayan Prophecy” on Saturday, October 22nd at 7 p.m. with a live in-studio event hosted by the filmmakers and PeaceJam founders, Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff. A limited number of tickets to the 3rd Annual PeaceJam Hero Awards Luncheon will be available during the event.
This award-winning film explores the ancient Mayan prophecy that was discovered in the 1960‘s. What do the Maya really say about 2012? Is the world going to end on December 21, 2012?
Delving into both the Western and Mayan points of view, this film casts aside common misconceptions of the Mayan Prophecy and focuses on the scientifically supported future of humanity that Mayans predict. In this film, learn more from the most famous Maya in the world, 1992 Nobel Peace Laureate Rigoberto Menchú Tum of Guatemala, and her Mayan elders.
Filmed over a period of five years, this documentary film takes you deep into the Guatemalan highlands, where a small group of elders have preserved the traditions of the ancient Mayas, passing this deep knowledge down from generation to generation in an unbroken lineage of over 2,000 years. The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and leading scientists also star in this fascinating and entertaining new film that explores what we do not need to worry about, and the five things we can all do to best survive.
A limited number of tickets will be available for the PeaceJam Foundation 15th anniversary Luncheon and 3rd Annual Hero Awards - Rights for Women and their Role as Leaders. The event will be held Tuesday, November 15, 12 p.m.-1 p.m. at the Seawell Grand Ballroom/DCPA with a Keynote Address by Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Jody Williams. The limited number of tickets to this event will be available on Colorado Public Television during the live event only.
