CPT12 Celebrates the Season with Local Programming  
CPT12 to Air Annual Year-In-Review programs on
“Colorado Inside Out” and “Studio 12;”
Boxing Day Marathon from CPT12 Producer, Joshua Hassel

Denver, CO – In the final week of 2011, Colorado Public Television (CPT12) is keeping a focus on local programming. Starting with a Boxing Day celebration, we’ll feature an evening of award-winning local documentaries from CPT12 producer Joshua Hassel. Our annual year-in-review programs including “Studio 12: Best of 2011” and the final 2011 edition of “Colorado Inside Out” round out the week.

Boxing Day CPT12 Arts Documentary Marathon, December 26, from 7-9 p.m.
“Sandzén: Ecstasy of Color” tells the story of Swedish-American artist, Birger Sandzén from his birth in Blidsberg, Sweden (1871) through his education in Skara, Stockholm and Paris (1881-1894), and on to his new home in Lindeborg, KS. Inspired by the landscapes of Colorado, Utah, and Kansas, Sandzén’s paintings pushed the limits of early modernism and moved towards abstraction. Airs December 26 at 7 p.m.

“Allen True’s West” takes a journey through the life and art of a twentieth-century American original, Allen Tupper True, who captured the character of a region in transformation - from wild frontier to modern West. Airs December 26 at 8 p.m.

“Rex Ray: How to Make a Rex Ray” is a film of the celebrated artist Rex Ray, as he takes us on a tour from his hometown in Colorado Springs to his glorious live/work studio space in San Francisco, showing us the magic of his artistic process and everyday practice. Airs December 26 at 9 p.m.

Year-in-Review Programming:
“Studio 12: Best of 2011” is a pre-taped year-end special with hosts Tamara Banks and Steffan Tubbs as they take a look back at their favorite “Studio 12” shows from 2011. Airs Wednesday, December 28, at 8 p.m.

“Colorado Inside Out” is a round table discussion with host Raj Chohan and guests Patricia Calhoun, David Kopek, Eric Sondermann and Alicia Caldwell who give their 2012 political predictions both locally and nationally. Airs Friday, December 30, at 8 p.m.
