FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 11, 2011 Denver, CO – Colorado Public Television is delighted to premier “Moyers & Company,” the new weekly series by Bill Moyers this Friday, January 13 at 9 p.m. This highly anticipated show will be a weekly hour of compelling and vital conversation about life and the state of American democracy, featuring some of the best thinkers of our time. A range of scholars, artists, activists, scientists, philosophers and newsmakers bring context, insight and meaning to important topics. The program builds out CPT12’s award-winning Friday night public affairs lineup that begins at 7:30 p.m. with Inside Washington, followed by Colorado Inside Out at 8 p.m. Devil's Advocate with Jon Caldara at 8:30 pm, the market premier of Moyers & Company at 9 p.m. and Charlie Rose at 10 p.m. According to Moyers, the first three slated broadcasts will “explore what’s happening to the middle class as rising inequality turns our country in a society of winners and losers, with little sympathy for the losers.”
Future guests include former Poet Laureate, Rita Dove, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, and Dr. Michio Kaku, physicist and co-founder of the string theory. In an effort to create an extensive online presence in conjunction with this new series, BillMoyers.com will be expanded to offer full streaming of all “Moyers & Company” episodes, online-only essays, analytical blogs, interactive features, as well as an extensive video library of all Moyers’ past work in media. “Moyers & Company” will air all new episodes, Friday nights at 9pm on 12.1.
