DENVER, May 16, 2008 – Highlights of the 2008 Libertarian National Convention will be aired Monday, May 26, at 8 p.m. on KBDI-TV, Channel 12. “Destination Denver 2008: Libertarian National Convention,” a 30-minute program, will include nominee selections and interviews from the Memorial Day weekend convention conducted in Denver. “The Libertarian Convention coverage is just another example of KBDI’s path-breaking, special election-year programming and the overall commitment to public affairs that Colorado citizens have come to expect of us,” said Wick Rowland, KBDI’s president. In coming months, KBDI will partner with CBS4 (KCNC) and the Rocky Mountain News in the Colorado Decides series of election debates and coverage of the Democratic National Convention coverage and election night results. The Colorado Decides series will feature debates for the primary races, the nationally spotlighted U.S. senate contest, the Colorado congressional district races and the major ballot issues. The debate series will begin in July and carry straight through to election night in November. During the Libertarian Party convention, nearly 1,000 delegates from around the nation will gather to select their party’s presidential and vice presidential nominees, elect new officers and debate possible changes to the party’s national platform and bylaws. The program also will be available for video-on-demand online viewing after May 28 on www.kbdi.org. —30— |
