‘Visions of Israel” premieres on Colorado Public Television, KBDI, Channel 12
DENVER, May 23, 2008 – The popular PBS “Visions” series premieres an aerial pilgrimage to Israel on Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on KBDI, Channel 12.
“Visions of Israel,” set to regional music and narrated by Israeli-American violinist Itzhak Perlman, features stunning aerial footage flying over sites where Egyptians, Greeks and Romans built outposts to their empires, where Jewish rebels gave their lives and where Jesus Christ performed miracles.
The country’s many holy sites, such as the Western Wall, the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, are featured alongside such modern achievements as an ingenious irrigation system that helped make a desert bloom.
“Visions of Israel” also incorporates ground footage and day and night views, including the financial and cultural epicenter of Tel Aviv, the ancient port city of Jaffa, and the resort city of Eliat at the tip of the Red Sea.
A visit to the Dead Sea provides a microcosm of the region’s deep history and natural wonders. Flyovers include fine beaches, national parks and Netanya, the center of the diamond industry.
